I interviewed at this location on February 27th around 1:40-2:00 PM with the store manager. The interview was conducted outside the store and ended within minutes. At the very beginning of the conversation, I was asked about my availability. I explained that I am available Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from 2 PM through closing because I attend church in the mornings. I also shared that I can work opening shifts on Fridays but would need to leave after 6 PM for Bible study. Almost immediately after clarifying that my Sunday mornings and Friday nights were connected to my faith, I was told they are looking for someone with completely open availability who can "make this job their whole entire life." I was then told, "this isn't going to work, so why don't we end it here?" The interview was over before it even started. What stood out was being told that school-related scheduling needs are considered, but faith-based commitments were not viewed the same way. Hearing that school-related commitments are accommodated but faith-based ones are not leaves an unsettling impression. Whether someone's availability is shaped by school or by church, it should not determine whether they are given the opportunity to be evaluated on their experience. Despite offering availability five days a week and bringing 10 years of experience in customer service, sales, and fast-paced environments, I was not asked a single question about my qualifications or skills before the conversation was cut short. Applicants deserve to be evaluated on their abilities and experience. Although uncomfortable, I remained polite and kept the conversation cordial to avoid unnecessary tension or escalation, not because the situation felt appropriate. Ending an interview before even discussing someone's experience immediately after they disclose faith-based commitments speaks for itself. California and federal law generally require employers to provide reasonable accommodation for sincerely held religious beliefs unless doing so would create an undue hardship. I hope this location carefully reviews how it handles conversations about religious availability moving forward. I also hope the company reviews its policies to ensure they align with state and federal employment protections. Applicants whose schedules revolve around school commitments may not encounter this issue as vocalized to me personally. But applicants who value their faith may want to ask very clear questions about how such scheduling requests are viewed before investing any time in their interview process. Overall, this experience was deeply disheartening, and based on it, I personally would not consider working for or shopping at this company again. read more

My friend arranged to have her 6 year old daughter's birthday party here recently and I thought it was just the cutest thing!! Each invitee got a $20 gift card to use toward anything in the store, and every purchase made that day also got 20% off! It was a great deal and my two dusghters LOVED it. They had us come before the mall opened, so all the little ones got to really enjoy having the store to themselves. The staff members working were so sweet, patient and helpful to our littles. They also were allowed to get their makeup done which included gems next to their eyes, sparkle hair spray and hair gems! I thought it was such a great idea for a girly girl who loves to shop or accessorize! After that we went to Red Robin for lunch, which is literally right across the way in the mall, so it was such a perfect birthday party. I highly recommend! read more

One of my best friends and I went into Claire's to get some piercings. Not only was the store extremely clean but was well stocked with so many different choices of all different kinds of merchandise it was so hard to choose from. The setup and organizational placement of everything made it extremely pleasurable to shop! The staff were phenomenal! Desirae greeted us upon entering the store and Val checked us out. Desiree was great, she had a lot of patience with my family and I. In total she pierced three individuals in my group, and did not rush our party at all. I was so nervous to get my second set of earlobe piercings. Claires has an awesome selection of piercings that also came with the solution, you could get a rapid solution for $10 extra that will cut the cleaning process down to three weeks! She first marked my ear, let me see it, and quickly pierced it. I thought it would be painful but it was a light pinch! I then decided well since this wasn't to bad lets do the cartilage, she did the same process as before and this time I asked her to choose where she thought it would look best! One thing she did recommend is that I do not go over 3mm size so I did 2mm. Safe to say, where she placed the piercing I have already received tons of compliments. My 10 year old has been wanting to get her ears pierced for awhile but always chickened out. We talked about it and she would always claim that she's not ready. She finally mustered enough courage and was finally ready. I called Claire's to get information and all sounded great. No appointments needed. Just come and hope that they're not too busy. We went on a weekend and the wait wasn't too bad at all. She choose her bday studs and we had 2 people do it at the same time. I think it was Elizabeth who spent the most time with us, looking at her ears, putting a spot on her lobe to make sure it's balanced on both sides. Horrible. Wasnt greeted when i walked in. Cashier looking @ us up & down then proceeds to follow us around the little store. Everything we touched he's behind us "fixing" & "rearranging" stuff. He said something smart listening to our convo about the store. Him & my friend start arguing. I got my ears pierced yesterday by Dexie. She's awesome! I was so nervous since these are my first piercings ever. She let me take my time to decide and guided me through the process. She carefully checked and marked where she would do the piercings. I was given a chance to look at them before she proceeded to piercing my ears. To my surprise, it was barely painful! Lots of adorable and fun headbands, beads, bracelets, necklaces, etc. for whatever holiday is coming up. They always have awesome deals too (buy 3, get 3...you can't beat that). The store is always clean and the staff is super helpful and friendly. Specifically, the associate that assisted me during my most recent visit was Amber and she's amazing! I ordered my earrings online they were much much cheaper. $6 bucks as oppose to $25 in the store. I was so excited and looking forward. The order was made through ups shipment services that is what Claire's notified me. I was notified that the earrings will arrive July 6th. But then time pass and earrings didn't arrive. I looked and kept checking the online shipping status. All of a sudden it said that ups has given my order from Claire's to usps. I called directly to usps and even went directly to several locations and at both times I was told they were not able to locate my order. I even spoke to ups and they told me that they can't locate my order. I am very disappointed. I Love Claire's but this is truly upsetting because I was so happy that I found what I couldn't find in stores and that the Claire's company lets me know that ups will deliver but to only complicate things they give to usps and usps has no way to locate. I called claires customer service told them my situation and asked for remedy of this missing order, to which they did confirm. The customer service representative said they can only issue a fund's return. I asked if they can resend the order and not charge me as a courtesy from company, he checked with his management and they said they are not able to do that. Did you know Claire's does birthday parties? They do and it was super fun! I planned ahead and the manager, Brenda, was wonderful. We had six girls for a party and Brenda made "crazy hair" goody bags for them all ready an hour before the mall opened so the girls had the store all to themselves. Brenda and her helpers had activities planned and games and they had a blast! I gave her a price range and she stuck to it. My daughter got her ears pierced at the end of the party and everything was terrific. Great price for everything. Brenda and her helper did everything...I got to sit back and enjoy watching y daughter have fun with her friends. The ONLY reason I didn't do 5 stars on my review was because it was really hot in the store...we were all sweating. But that was not the fault of management. After the party we went back to shop and it was still super hot in the store. Called at 12:22 pm on 07/13/20 to book an appointment for the next available slot. Employee over the phone says same day at 5 pm is open so we accept. I show up at 04:55 pm and to my surprise the store is closed with the lights off. In denial i called and waited 5 minutes on the phone listening to it ring with no answer. Pretty shitty to waste gas and time to come out here I would have understood if they called Earlier and let me know they would need to cancel I would have just rescheduled but not even the decency to inform me they would be off early or cancel the appointment especially since they offered it as day at 5pm. Online it says they close at 6 pm. I'm super pissed off because there was no call or anything basically booked me an appointment for a waste of time. Very disappointed with the service. I received the piercing and they were lopsided. One was much further up then the other. I was highly disappointed, but the woman working there told me I could get them redone for free after I took out the earrings and let them close up. I came back a few days later and they told me I couldn't get them redone without having to pay another SIXTY DOLLARS for them to be redone. Claire's sent me to urgent care. I went in a few days ago to get my 4th ear piercing. I have always gotten them done at Walmart and they turned out great. I figured why not Claire's? It's more reputable than Walmart. It is a little pricier so I chose a small pair of silver balls. I waited for about 5 minutes next to the register before this fat Asian lady asked me if I needed help. I told her I wanted to get an ear piercing and she said "wait over there." She takes another few minutes and comes and marks my ears and does the regular procedure and pierces my ears. In the meantime she is not friendly at all and is quite rude making very little conversation. I go home thinking my ears are fine. The next day they are turning red and swollen and are very sore. I summed it up to just be because of the fact I just had a needle forced through my ear. However over the next couple days the pain becomes unbearable. I can barely sleep because any time anything touches my ear its excruciating. They start to swell up so much that my earrings start to become ENGULFED INSIDE MY EAR. I make an appointment for urgent care and the doctor takes ONE LOOK at my ear and tells me I need to take them out because I got a STAPH INFECTION. I get my antiobiotics and go home to take my earrings out and discover that not only did they get infected, she pierced them CROOKED. I cannot take the earrings out because they are stuck and had to resort to having my dad help me and use PLIERS. IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST PAINFUL THINGS IVE EVER HAD TO DO. DO NOT GET YOUR EARS PIERCED HERE. Not only are they too stupid to do proper piercings, the staff is extremely rude, especially the fat Asian lady. read more
