Went during a trunk show that had good variety of styles and prices for my bridal search. Despite paying $25 for my bridal appointment, I felt very rushed through 8 dresses in 22 minutes. Felt as though my stylist made no effort to have personal connection and just tried to make a sale without allowing my family and I to discuss things we liked about each dress to help find the perfect one. Was glad this wasn't my first store or else I would've been very discouraged as a bride. Bridal shopping should be joyous not stressful. The changing room was off of a tight hallway and where multiple brides dresses were hanging so I felt crammed on my many rushed trips to and from my groups room and the changing stalls. read more

My experience at Claire's was fantastic! I was very nervous going into my appointment as I am very critical of myself and truly had no idea what I was looking for as a wedding dress. My consultant, Shana, was wonderful from start to finish. She was friendly, patient, and truly took into consideration what I liked/disliked about each dress. All wedding attire is located upstairs. It's a semi-private area that is shared with other future bride(s) and their guests. I brought along my four bridesmaids who were all given dry erase boards to write what they liked about each dress- which honestly was great for my confidence and added fun to the experience! Even though the area was being shared with another bride and her consultant, I felt like we had plenty of space and privacy. I tried on a total of ten dresses, but I was really torn between two of them on which I liked the best. Shana ended up bringing me one more dress that was a mix between the two. It was perfect. She brought me a veil to try with the dress and I had the storybook moment where all the emotions hit me at once. I never once felt pressured to purchase anything and I didn't feel rushed at all during my appointment. Turns out, the dress I selected was part of a trunk sale where I got 10% off too! Everything about our experience with this shop was top notch from the moment they answered the phone and set up our same day appointment for my daughter's prom dress. We were warmly welcomed immediately upon arrival, and had an amazing staff member (Olivia) help us pick the perfect dress. She was very attentive, friendly, honest, and super helpful throughout the whole process. We never felt rushed, either. I came out to go wedding dress shopping with my friend and this was by far the worst stop. First of all, we had to wait in the car and call when we were there. That's fine. However, to get our attention, the sales associate comes and start calling people's names from the door. Mind you, it is snowing and no one has their doors or windows open so everytime someone came out we had to open and see if it was us. You would think if you have to call to say you're there, they could call or text when to come in. Next, this place has a HUGE prom selection. This isn't what we were there for but I noticed all the girls had to wear gloves to try on dresses. Our wedding sales associate was fake nice? Idk how to explain it but at one point she almost demanded my friends sister take a photo at a certain angle but she had already gotten it. Also, we were in a shared space with another bride and it did not feel very private. My friend also mentioned how they didn't help her in and out of the dresses. I have been here throughout the years as a bridesmaid to accompany my brides but this time around I got to BE the bride. After 2 unsuccessful shops in Philadelphia, I came back to Claire's because I remember the positive experience here. I loved the updated bridal portal system where you can view the dresses online and favorite the ones you want to try on. It's much easier and accessible to do in your free time vs feeling rushed in person looking through a physical catalog. I had the pleasure of working with Samantha, who was professional, kind and calm. She got a sense of the two different looks I was stuck between and picked out a few pieces in addition to the ones I selected. My bridesmaid and I had the private room in the upstairs back area and I got to change in one of the hallway dressing rooms while Samantha zipped/clipped me in. I got to have my moment with my bridesmaid as we went over what we loved and disliked about each dress, which I appreciate because other consultants hover in other shops which can feel stressful and reduce the authenticity of the experience. I did not feel rushed at all here and I am so happy with my choice because it was all of the elements I was looking for and I only found it because of her. I first went to Claire's nearly a decade ago for my prom dress, and was recently back picking out a bridesmaid dress. The staff are warm and welcoming, and offer feedback without hovering. The bridal areas are relaxed and private, so you do not feel rushed or on display like in some boutiques where all the clients are in a single hallway. Most importantly, their selection is hard to beat. There are hundreds of dresses in stock to try on, and you can flip through large color photographs rather than trying to decide what looks good on the rack. Out of nearly 100 styles of bridesmaid dresses from the selected designer I was able to narrow it down to five options in minutes, which were then pulled for me to try. We didn't have the experience we were hoping for when shopping for my daughter's bridal gown. Although the consultant was nice, she had no idea about 1) what my daughter liked/disliked after trying on some dresses, 2) what material the dresses were made of, 2) prices of dresses. When we got there she asked my daughter about her likes and dislikes. One dislike was strapless dresses, but my daughter said she'd try one on. That led to many strapless dresses being brought out by the consultant. And when the dresses were hung up for my daughter to go through on the rack, her maid-of-honor and I weren't allowed to look through the selection with her. I was told there "are too many people back here." Yet, the the other bride who was trying on dresses and her maid-of-honor were looking at their selections on the rack. Why could they all look together and we couldn't? Nothing the consultant brought out was wowing us. Granted, my daughter wasn't sure what she wanted, but she was giving some direction of what she liked and didn't like. The consultant just wasn't bringing anything that fit the bride's description. About 1/2 hour before the end of our consultation, the consultant gave us a binder to look through. We selected some dresses. Two of them we were told, "NO! They are too heavy." (My daughter is having a summer wedding.) So, we couldn't even try them on to see if the style was something my daughter would like. Not even an option. And whenever we asked what material a dress was, the consultant said, "I'm not sure." And we were never given prices of dresses. Instead, I had to ask. And when I did ask, I was told, "I believe it's" and then a price. Yet, watching the other bride, her consultant was telling her about the fabric, pricing, etc. Based on our experience, I would NOT recommend Claire's. Such a shame as it came recommended. And we wasted $25 that had to be paid in order to make an appointment. We won't be going back and I'll be telling folks to go elsewhere. read more

Claire's is pretty small and cramped. They don't really let you look through any gowns. They give you a book and you look at the book and pick out dresses you want to try and then they bring them out. They will bring out others based on what you are interested in. At first I really enjoyed our consultant. She was old school and gave real advice. I was really looking to be wow-ed by a dress before I said yes so we left after our first visit. We returned for a second visit for a specific trunk show. There was one very small rack of gowns that were pretty unimpressive. I wound up trying on a gown that I liked but wasn't totally sold on. The consultant seemed visibly irritated that I wasn't committing to the dress. We went to many boutiques and tried on MANY dresses. We went to quite a few boutiques more than once because we wanted to see the new line of dresses once they came out. This is the ONLY experience where a consultant got pushy and irritated with me. We left and didn't return and wound up finding my dream dress somewhere else. When you are a bride looking for your one wedding gown for your one wedding day in your whole life, it should be a fun experience. It shouldn't be rushed for someone to make commission off of you. Am I indecisive? Yes. Am I allowed to be? Yes, especially on the most important purchase of my life. The store is dated and cramped on top of that. You are basically standing on top of the mirror in the one room so it's tough to even get a perspective of what you look like in the gown. There were a million little girls downstairs looking for dresses for a dance. This place really wasn't my bag...especially comparing it to all of the other boutiques we went to. It was definitely lacking the chic finesse you are looking for at a bridal boutique. read more

I'm in a wedding next year in Rhode Island and needed to try on bridesmaids dresses from a specific designer/line that Claire's carries even though my bride wants us all to order from her local shop in order for everything to be made from the same dye lot. Even though I was upfront that I wouldn't be purchasing from Claire's my consultant Alexis was amazing. She was so helpful with giving me advice on what alterations might be needed even though she wouldn't be getting a commission as I couldn't purchase from her/Claire's. Pros- more upscale beaded prom dresses than any other stores around. Literally hundreds in the small sizes my daughter needed, arranged in order by color of the rainbow - remember ROYGBIV?! - crazy. Lots of staff to help you in the dressing rooms ad finding other sizes, different dresses etc.. They zip girls in and out and hang up the dresses (for safety of the dressses). Awesome service, which means Mom just needs to observe and opine (mostly observe...) Cons- so many freaking dresses you may be overloaded despite their great attempts to keep things organized and efficient for trying on. Dresses are hung in plastic zip garment bags to protect them, but squashed together on the racks so it's difficult to see what's inside the bags; also you will get a serious upper body workout from overhead lifting, maneuvering and reaching for the dresses, which are quite heavy in the bags, as many are beaded. My daughter didn't get a dress here, but tried on several and came close. It's worth a trip, but try to go when it's not crowded. read more

I had an amazing experience working with Carmella to find "the dress" I was so impressed by the space upstairs for bridal appointments. My shopping buddies were so comfortable and it was adorable. Carmella was so accommodating! She let me look through the books to find what I wanted, which was SO much better than going through dresses in bags. Carmella was so happy to provide dresses that I liked and didn't push other styles - she knew that I had previously tried others and landed on ballgown. Never do I write reviews, but this experience put such a bad taste in my mouth I needed to make a yelp account. My consultants name was Dolores. I went dress shopping with my girlfriends, sister and mother quite far in advance from my wedding. The customer service was pleasant up until I told her I don't plan on buying or making a deposit, or getting measured. I told her my wedding is not until next October (2020). I've been dieting and lost 20lbs so far. I explained I rather wait and come back in after I drop more weight at the end of fall, rather than getting a dress that will without a doubt need significant alterations. Immediately her demeanor changed and became snippy with me. Asking to delete photos of us saying Yes to the dress. Mind you my maid of honor flew in from Canada to share this experience with me and I wanted to have picture of the moment. We all laughed at her saying that and she replied no, seriously delete them. With every intention of purchasing my dress there I asked about pricing and discounts for paying in full. Which she refused to share or discuss any details unless I was buying my dress today. Now, I am ABSOLUTELY not spending my money after being treated so rudely. Everyone in my party felt very uncomfortable how she talked to me at the end of the appointment. It completely put a damper on such a special moment as we all walked away angry. Don't bother going unless you plan on handing your credit card over. I plan on purchasing the same dress elsewhere. I came in not very happy with my body and left feeling like a princess. The workers are very honest which was amazing, because you could tell they were not just selling their dresses they actually cared and wanted you to be happy. The manger is awesome, she helped me feel better about myself when i just wasn't feeling good in any of the dresses i tried on. Long post ahead....but my experience at Claire's Fashions was absolutely wonderful! Claire's was my 3rd and final wedding dress appointment of the day and by the time we arrived, I was already exhausted from trying on so many dresses at the other two shops. I had already been in love with a dress at the first shop for YEARS so I felt like the appt at Claire's was just to check a box so that I truly looked at all of my wedding dress options even though I planned on getting my "forever dress" at the first shop. I went dress shopping with my mom who has MS and walks with a walker and my mother-in-law who also has a hard time walking came with me while I went wedding dress shopping. When we arrived at Claire's, prom season was in full swing. I didn't realize they sold prom dresses, so when we all arrived and saw the store packed with young women looking for their prom dresses, I was a little concerned that this would not be a good experience. The first level is a little tight, especially with dozens of girls and women shopping for dresses. Coupled with the fact that mom and MIL do not do too well with standing and navigating small spaces, I was a little worried about how this appointment would go and almost wanted to leave. But Dani, my consultant assigned to me, was on top of things from the moment we walked in! She immediately got my mom a chair to sit in while she prepared the Bridal Suite upstairs for us. Unfortunately, my mom cannot walk up a flight of stairs, so Dani and some of the other consultants quickly got to work arranging the steam room (where they steam the dresses) set up for us. They had chairs set up when we walked in and the fitting rooms were cleared out just for me. I really appreciate the effort they made to accommodate us and make us feel comfortable. Now for the FUN part! Dani hands me a book that was the size of 2 giant phone books and says "pick out all the dresses you want to try on!" Even though I was tired of trying on dresses, the selection they have available is astounding! Any dress you could possibly want, they seemed to have! Best of all: I don't think I saw any dress more than $2K or $2500. If you have a budget but are looking for a beautiful gown, this is the place to go! Although my "forever dress" was front of mind for me, there were a few Allure Bridals styles I was interested in and Claire's had them all plus some. I selected about 10-12 dresses to try on (!!) and Dani and the other consultants immediately went upstairs, pulled the dresses and brought them all down for me. I almost felt like a celebrity having a dress fitting with Rachel Zoe for the Oscars - they are that professional, prompt and accommodating! The first dress I tried on was like my #2 behind my forever dress. I came out and both moms loved it - even more than the forever dress. My sister (also my maid of honor) and I liked it a lot but knew some alterations would have to be made. By that time, Dani was joined by another consultant whose name escapes me right now, but she was a sweet and funny as could be! She and Dani told me exactly what alterations could be done to make that dress perfect for me. They were SO knowledgeable and helpful. The 2nd dress I tried on at Claire's -- I don't know how we picked that for me to try on - I think Dani pulled it and I agreed I really liked the way it looked on the rack. Before the dress was fully on me, I said "oooohhh!" aloud in the dressing room. It was the first time that day I had reacted to a dress like that - even with the forever dress in mind. I came out the fitting room, the ladies zipped me up and everyone, Dani and her colleague included, were in awe. We all fell in love with that dress! The train is absolutely stunning and when Dani and her colleague added the lace edge fingertip veil, it just made the dress perfect. I knew that dress was "The One" because not only did I not want to take it off, but I didn't even want to try on the others. I just loved it so much! Dani and her colleagues were so incredibly accommodating (schlepping the dozen other dresses back upstairs!). They looked up the dates for when I'd receive it, gave me details about the veil and accessories I liked - and put absolutely no sales pressure on me and didn't give me the fake sales lines other places might try. The women of Claire's are absolutely wonderful and they made my special day of wedding dress shopping absolutely perfect! I had a general idea of what I wanted but she suggested a few that she thought would look good and I ended up loving one of them! She has a great eye and is very personable. I never felt rushed or forced to buy a certain dress. I ended up going one other place before buying a dress and did not have a good experience. Went back to Claires and bought my dress. It came in a few weeks ago for my upcoming October wedding. I will be going back in a few weeks with my mom for the mother of the bride dress. I just purchased my wedding dress from Claire's and I loved every minute of my experience there! The selection is awesome and you will have no problem finding dresses in your budget and style! (My budget was not very big and I found an absolutely gorgeous dress!) I was brought up to the second floor where there is a totally separate suite just for brides and their family/friends. I was able to sit down with a binder filled with pictures of all the dresses and tag all the ones I was interested in trying on, which is so much easier than looking at dresses on racks! My consultant pulled all the dresses I tagged and we began trying them on. I tried on one that I LOVED and my family loved it too, but we wanted to be sure, so we went to one more shop, but nothing compared to that dress. A few weeks later (last night), I went back to Claire's with my mom, future mother-in-law, and bridesmaids to show them the dress, and everyone loved it! I loved it even more the second time around! We officially "said yes to the dress" and ordered it and I am so excited for it to come in in a few months! Now, the main reason I wanted to write this review was to talk about how AWESOME Rachel was! She was my consultant for both appointments and she was one of the sweetest, most personable people I have ever met! My mom loved her too! She remembered us perfectly when we came in for the second appointment and she was the main reason my experience with Claire's was so great! If you order a dress from here TRY IT ON ASAP! I ordered the dress size that was recommended to me by Claires. Needless to say it's HUGE- I didn't try it on at the store when it came in, or before the two day period in which your allowed to request an exchange (busy mom of a toddler here..) and I'm now paying for it. Over $200.00 in alterations, I'm told it's at least 4 sizes too big, and requires complete reconstruction of the dress. Claire's does strongly recommend trying on in the store at time of receipt or before the two day period so I take full responsibility for neglecting that. I trusted that the people ordering the dress would be somewhat familiar with the dress maker/brand sizing being that they do this all the time and work with specific brands - I never anticipated them to be this far off. I originally loved it after my first time going to Claire's with a bride to be and our friend to look at wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses. I've only ever gotten bridesmaids dresses at David's bridal so when we saw all the different dress styles and options we were so excited. I was also impressed that they took our measurements and said our dresses would only need minor alterations and definitely altered length wise. At the time I needed 2 bridesmaids dresses. I was advised to order a size 6 (I'm normally a size 2 or 4) for both dresses and they were both by the same designer. One of the 2 dresses fit me fine and only needed minimal adjustments and shortened. The other dress however fit me horribly. It was very obvious that the dress was huge and definitely wasn't right. A couple of the other bridesmaids had issues with their dresses too, so after several complaints from me, the bride and a couple other bridesmaids we finally got an appointment with the manager and brought our dresses back so she could see them on. As soon as she saw me in my dress she grabbed a handful of extra material and said this has got to be a size 10 or 12 I could make 2 more dresses out of this dress. The tags on and inside the dress all said size 6. Then she had me try on one of the other bridesmaids dress which was a size 4 and that fit me absolutely perfect. The manager said she would call the manufacturer to try and get my dress in the right size, but by the time we finally met with her after making several complaints, the dress wouldn't be in in time for the wedding so they sent me to their seamstress to alter the dress to fit me at no cost. Unfortunately it took me standing next to another bridesmaid in the same dress to realize that the dress still looked horrible on me. It was still too big and the neckline was way off and didn't sit or look like the other dress. Had I have known that the dress would still look bad I would have paid my seamstress and got the dress fixed right. Honestly cried outside the store after wedding dress shopping with my family. I left feeling absolutely horrible. The consultant basically told me I'm not going to find what I'm looking for. I showed her a picture of a dress from a 2020 collection that I really want to try on and she told me I wouldn't like it and I can't wait for it to become available. I'm not getting married till the end of 2020 so timing is certainly not an issue. I couldn't look at the dresses on the rack myself. I had to tell her my vision and then she would pick what she thought would be best. I prefer to see the dresses myself. The dressing room light is extremely harsh and it made my skin look horrible which only made me feel worse about the situation. I will say I really appreciated that she tried very hard to get what I wanted but they didn't have it. She also gave me a range of dresses and I could tell she really want to help but it came off the wrong way. read more

I had an appointment for 2:30pm this past Saturday to choose a wedding dress. The store was mobbed with young girls looking for prom dresses, and my salesperson Abriana (sp?) was clearly overwhelmed and not in a good mood. So crowded you could barely move in the store. Why would you book an appointment when seriously there was NO LESS than 40-50 girls with their Moms in the store looking for prom gowns?? I had found a dress I liked on line, and called the store a week before my appointment to see if they had it for me to try on. They did, and in my size, 12, and the color I wanted, ivory. Abriana presents me with the dress in burgandy (I wanted ivory)....in a size 26. 26! I am 5'1 and weigh 135. She said she would clip it. No, no you won't. I'm not making a decision based on a dress that is 14 sizes too big for me! So then she got in a huff. I said where are the wedding dresses? I was told they are upstairs. Well can you show them to me? No, you don't have an appointment. Excuse me, I am here for my 2:30pm appointment to find a dress for my wedding. Yes, but the dress you asked to try is in the "mother of the bride" category. Wow. So by now I'm thinking this gal really does not want to even try to show me anything in my budget, or sell anything to me at all. I had initially agreed that she would order the dress I was interested in at no obligation to me, in the correct size (that they were supposed to have in the store already)...then she finally takes my friend and I upstairs to the bridal area, puts us in a room, advises us NOT to look at the gowns but to look at the wedding book she showed me. There were only about 4 gowns in the whole book within my budget, didn't like them...and she was not happy. I apologized for taking her time, and then I told her (because by now I had a really bad vibe) that I was not going to order the other dress to try either. She wanted ME to pay the $400+ to order the dress...that does not sound like a "no obligation" deal to me. She then basically started arguing with me! REALLY? Super unprofessional, did not listen to what I wanted, and her frustration was very evident. I know lots of people have great experiences at Claire's, but I will never go again. Found my PERFECT dress down the road at Irini's. Quiet surroundings, staff with decades of experience who listened to what I wanted, and actually sounded genuinely happy for me that I was getting married. read more

I unfortunately was a victim of the Alfred Angelo shut down and was out of a wedding dress with just under three months to go before my big day. This place was a gem! I tried on about six dresses and loved them all, Rosie was my stylist and she was so nice offering her opinions and helping me with everything. I left with my dream dress it is way more beautiful than the one I'll never get from Alfred angelos and a heck of a lot cheaper! I had such a happy experience at Claire's , I should have came here from the start! Highly recommended read more

I never write reviews for places EVER!! But...I'm extremely upset and frustrated with the way this pandemic has been handled with regards to ppl that have spent hundreds of dollars on dresses for their daughters to wear at prom, and all the proms have been canceled. And I dont care about you're refund policy. Cause let's be honest, a global pandemic happens once in a lifetime. Just like a SR prom. I have written on you're Facebook page TWICE now, and you've removed it both times!! Which is completely unprofessional. I emailed you. You emailed me back 2 weeks later, telling me about you're costs and you're bills. You sell dresses with an at least 50% mark up value. You're selling dresses at 700-1000 a dress, and you're complaining to me about costs!! All I asked for was at the very least a store credit, and I would give the dress back, that hasn't been touched. I think its disgraceful and horrible that you would take ppls hard earned money, and keep it, when their kids aren't getting anything in return for it. Paid $25 for my daughter to try on prom dresses an hour before they opened. My daughter tried on many dresses but none really wowed her. After spending a little over an hour, we left the shop because my daughter felt pressured to get a gown. The consultant helping my daughter spoke to another consultant while she was changing and told her that she was a "spoiled brat".
