Had a choice of eating in the bar , the dining room or outside. We chose the dining room and glad we did. Overall all our service was very good. The server was friendly ( and very busy handling a lot of tables). I had an 8oz filet which was very good. I ordered it medium ( light pink center) and it cane out true Pittsburgh rare ( charred outside but rare inside- see pics) I was actually ok with it .... I order medium for my wife to have a couple bites even though I prefer more med rare. So this was def rare inside but I loved it ( I cut her a small end piece that was cooked a little more ) The steak comes with a salad, a vegetable and potato ( a lot of restaurants everything is alacarte - so for $40 for a prime 8oz filet with those sides included .... Not bad. Wife had shrimp and grit cake which is a large appetizer ( she had as her meal). Also had stuffed mushrooms to start that were very good. I think the town of Cedar Key will prob be one and done for us. Wanted to see it , it's quaint , old Florida ... but prob wouldn't come back. ( but only because we just wanted to check it off of a long list of Florida towns to visit) Pro tip: they don't take American Express , odd for a linen table cloth type of place .... We had a good dinner, although in reading some of the other reviews, we might have had the same server who seemed to be very slow and big gaps in between visiting our table - she seemed to disappear. I had the Calypso pasta with scallops, which was great. We had the stuffed mushrooms to start, which were yummy, but only 3. and my husband had a snapper fish of the day dish. He also enjoyed the pecan pie. And I enjoyed his ice cream. I was not a fan of any of the cocktails, so just had a glass of wine. My husband had the almond joy/mounds martini, whatever it was called, and he liked it a lot.

Chef ramsey would be infuriated! also portioned smaller than bread and full of gristle. Un- edible. Made due with over-cooked first order to appease my appetite, and not to complain a thirtd time. but both a sad looking chicken choice for the $10.99 price tag. However, our Waitress tried to compensate for the cooks poor or lack of skill: by only charging the price of the french fries. For a day of just taking a drive and finding this restaurant on the water, he view was gorgeous on the suwanee. Lovely day, nice weather and many airboats and finshing along the banks, the food I would skip. (At least the chicken) however my friend who ordered the blackened fish sandwich also a small portion of fish, but was pleased with the flavor and cook. So it may be a hit or miss type of place. The one star review is on the chicken sandwich. I guess the saying goes don't order something land when at a seafood restaurant.

With Cole Slaw. She enjoyed it very much. . On their Website they guarantee that you will not leave hungry. That was true. We had enough leftover food to bring home enough for another meal. For Desert we decided to share the Brownie Sunday. In many restaurants desserts are served up in skimpy portions, not at Treasure Camp. The portion was so large that we both ate plenty of it and brought home enough to finish off another meal. If you enjoy a rich decadent gooey brownie with a generous portion of vanilla bean ice cream, this will be the dessert for you. They also had Key Lime Pie, sizzling Apple Pie and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Treasure Camp Restaurant is well off the beaten path, but the food makes the drive worthwhile. If you have a boat you can also arrive that way. There are some cabins, but we did not look at them . A boat ramp is adjacent to the Restaurant and Store. After your meal you can stroll along their dock. This Restaurant has a Chiefland address, but is well outside the town. We drive from Dunnellon about an hour away, we were told that they have frequent diners who come from Crystal River and Homosassa Springs which is even further. Most people would not make this trip unless the food made it all worthwhile. We would definitely make the drive back here again!

Today we chose to eat inside and we and yes the waitresses were obviously sweltering . We were going to leave but we were hungry after fishing and the food is always good. We ate both having delicious burgers and the waitress was nice . For some reason I left wondering why a business would not offer free or discounted sodas or at least leave ice water on the table. It was extremely hot the waitresses shirts were obviously sweated through. I don't blame them just management and I know that it's a small island not many choices to go eat. Not many places for them to go work. Fabulous burger and a dry mouth.
