Lived in New Orleans for a few years in my 20s and worked in a French Quarter restaurant. My in laws live near by this place and have been wanting to bring me for years to get my opinion. We started with Boudin Balls which are my favorite but no one else had had before but all enjoyed. My wife had the bourbon chicken sandwich that she felt was meh/10 but she loved the jambalaya side and wished she'd gotten a whole dinner of that. I had the shrimp po boy. Wanted the traditional dressed version so swapped mayo for the mustard. Shrimp was excellently fried. Agree with my wife the jambalaya was great but the red beans were not very tender and when I asked for sugar for the beans (it's a real thing) they brought out three varieties of fake sugar and no real ones. Our boat captain and guide recommended this restaurant for great seafood, and he's never steered us wrong when it comes to places to stay or things to do. So when Captain Bryan suggested this spot, we knew it was worth a visit..and he was absolutely right. I live in Florida and eat a lot of seafood, but this place truly stands out. The crab cakes practically melt in your mouth...big, tender chunks of crab with just enough breading to hold them together. I ordered the blackened scallops with collard greens, and wow... the South must have a secret, because they were some of the best greens I've ever had. We also took some beignets to go, served with raspberry and chocolate sauces on the side. Be sure to eat them warm--and maybe share--because you'll be tempted to finish the whole tray yourself. We visit Seafood Sellers every time we visit Crystal River. The food is always as good as the last time we visited. We really enjoy the bacon oysters. We had the grilled scallops, crab cakes and soft shell crabs. All were perfectly cooked and all plates were completely cleared! The waitress was very attentive checking in our is making sure we had what we needed. The restaurant is in a strip mall so be looking out for it. I got the fried crawfish tacos, which thankfully were not salty and very tasty, and everyone in the group all agreed that I had ordered the best-tasting dish. Good Cajun food in Crystal River! Although, I did read a review that the food was a bit too salty and I will have to agree that the flavors may be a bit better without the extra salt. We had the Blue Crab Claws, Grouper Nuggets, Crawfish Etouffee, and Jambalaya. I probably would have been happier with Gumbo over the Jambalaya, but I recently had Gumbo so wanted something different. And my husband loved the sauce in the Etouffee, and his only complaint was that there was not enough crawfish. For dessert we had beignets. From the outside it may look like your average strip mall joint. BUT - it is much more than that. A hidden gem if you will. Brought our catch of scallops and grunt. Had the scallops sautéed with garlic butter, the grunt was blackened, grilled and then Louisianne style. That roux sauce was exceptional. I loved the blackened grouper and the corn and potato side plus the jambalaya. My wife loved the crab cake as well. We had an awesome server that was very attentive but not in your face. We enjoyed chatting with her. The place has a cute older nostalgia to it. We arrived a little after 1 pm and were seated immediately at a kind of multi person table. One couple at one end and is at the other. When we're left at 2 pm there was a dozen or more people waiting to get seated so that shoes how great this place is. Had a GREAT meal at this fantastic little Cajun restaurant. The server was super nice and very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! We got the fried pickles and the crawfish Mac and cheese - the Mac was absolutely delicious. For dinner I got the blackened grouper, red beans and rice and fried okra. Everything was cooked to perfection and super flavorful. I just got back from Louisiana in October and this place didn't miss a beat. I hope to go back when we are in the area! I can easily eat a hundred of these. We shared a bowl of jambalaya, and it was great and quite addictive. Then, I had grilled mahi-mahi, light and delicious. The collard greens were one of the best I've ever had. Then, BF had the blackened grouper, and he loved it! We also shared an extra order of grilled shrimp, and it was tasty too. This is a gem. When we left at 5:30 p.m., there was a long wait for people to be seated. Service was friendly and had a fun atmosphere. They do add automatic 20% gratuity to your bill, so be careful that you don't tip twice. But, you can always add more tip if you like. The whole fried hogfish was fresh with a crispy skin. My buddy ordered the chicken sandwich and a coke, while I got the soft shelled crab dinner with a jambalaya side and an unsweetened tea, plus a stuffed mushroom appetizer to share. Before tax and tip, our bill totaled $49.50, which felt appropriate given what we ordered. Given how crowed the restaurant was, we expected our food to take forever, but the stuffed mushrooms came out pretty quickly. Although not huge, we found them to be good sized, tender, and well-stuffed with deliciousness. After a surprisingly short wait (their kitchen staff had to be hopping in order to cook and plate so many meals that quickly!), our lunches arrived and they looked really good! My fellow scuba diver described his chicken sandwich as being juicy and delicious, while my soft shelled crab looked like it had molted that morning, been plucked out of the ocean and then cleaned, battered, fried up and delivered straight to me! Additionally, the jambalaya side was thick, rich, and absolutely delicious! Completing our meal was the very good service we received from Elani, who checked-in with us often (despite having a ton of tables), and kept our drinks refilled. PROS: very good to excellent food, descent portions, attentive service CONS: no real issues, as good food is not cheap! There was a 45 to an hour wait on a Sunday night, and I assumed simply cuz this small town did not seem to have many options and this was the only game in town. As I waited and saw the number of people at the bar drinking Bud and Bud light, again I had low expeditions. BEST FOOD IN YEARS! The crab cake was large lumps and reminiscent of a high-end high-fallutin' hotel in Savannah Georgia where the crab cakes cost almost twice as much. Along with a crab cake, I love the fact that the jambalaya is available as a side as well as a main dish. This way you can get your little jambalaya rice as well as trying other options. The greens were done right with some meat in it for seasoning. My rum cocktail was wonderful. Never tried Pilar rum before but good. Service was super friendly and efficient. Mardi Gras Decor was as expected for a New Orleans theme. I wonder if restaurants in New Orleans have that purple green and gold decor year-round? I ate too much, and by the time the cheesecake and beignets showed up I was too full to properly enjoy them.
