If we could, we would give this a negative star review. My husband and I stopped in and asked for an outside table because we had our dog with us. The girl at the desk said it would be a 20 minute wait even though there were many tables available. I was about to leave when she told me to pick a table and she would bring us menus. We ordered our drinks and wanted to place a takeout order. We were told they were all out of takeout boxes. He cane back and said he was able to find two small boxes if we still wanted to order. E placed our order and he told us it would 25 mins. After 40 minutes he came and told us it would just be another minute. 30 minutes later we still had nothing. My husband went in and asked for the bill for our drinks only. Amazingly our server came out with our order. When I called him on the wait he tried to say he told us there would be a twenty five minute wait. I told him that we were fine with that. It was when he told us it would be out in a-minute and we still had no food after 30 minutes that we had a big issue with. We paid the bill and went back to our hotel. When we opened the bag one of the orders looked like it was someone elses leftovers. It was missing one of the enchiladas and there was limp lettuce, salsa juice and remnants from another item. My husband went back and asked to speak with the manager. My husband introduced himself politely to the manager and his response was "what do you want?" My husband tried to explain our experience and he grabbed the container of food and threw it in the garbage. He was rude and completely out of line. As a manager he had zero people skills and definitely poor managerial skills too. Please do yourselves a favor and avoid this restaurant at all costs!!! After looking at this site I see they also had food violations. My recommendation is to steer clear of this place! read more

I love this restaurant. I have been going here for years. The big issue is that they do NOT staff it effectively. I often sit at the bar to eat my dinner. As a single guy, I don't want to take up a table that can be used for larger parties. This is a big handicap for me. Do NOT sit at the bar. You will wait forever to get service. The bartender works her butt off but she also has to take care of the service bar. If you go to Clancy's be prepared to wait...wait...and wait. I love the place. I love the food. Great staff. Clancy's cantina has great Tex mex food and it's not overpriced! Outdoor and indoor seating! Our server Christian was very polite and helped us with some recommendations! The chips and salsa had a nice bite to it with a heavy flavor of tomato! We ordered Tacos pastor and shredded chicken taco. Baja blackened Mahi taco as well as chipotle shrimp taco! The outside patio was covered and temperature was tolerable, while the Monday margaritas special was cold, so we partook of both. Samantha took our drink order and promptly returned with two margaritas and two waters. We then ordered the chicken and shrimp fajitas which were the perfect size for two,. It came with the beans, rice, lettuce, cheese and sour cream to adorn the home made hand held tacos. The chips and house made salsa was flavorful. All, in all a pleasant experience. read more

I always look at my yelp reviews before choosing a restaurant. After eating at Clancys im throughly surprised by the ratings. The salsa wasn't my favorite there wasn't much kick to it, but the chips were good. I came during happy hour and got their $5 margs. Frozen or on the rocks with lots of flavors. I ordered strawberry. I had like 3-4 and they were good. Also ordered chimichangas which were delicious the frying was done perfectly. The rice wasn't my Super Mexican inspired but still was decent. Where do I start... some type of worm or maggot in our food. See for yourself and you tell me what it looks like. The waitress brushed it off and said "oh that's just cheese". We waited 45 minutes and the portions are that for a kid size meal. Super tiny but with an adult entree price. I will never go back again!! ESPECIALLY WHAT TOPPED IT OFF WAS MY DAUGHTER FINDING THEM AT THE END OF HER MEAL. NOW WE HAVE TO BE WORRIED THAT SHE WONT GET SICK FROM IT. It's also funny. This was the worse food ever. The chips were soggy and I ordered a wet burrito without rice or veggies, they brought basically a dried out folded over soft taco with some dried melted cheese. It wasn't rolled or wet. I sent it back and they put some "dried chili" under some melted cheese and brought sauce on the side and said that's how their wet burritos come. Wow. Been going to Clancy's for 20 years. This is what a grilled chicken taco has been reduced to. We ordered 5 tacos. This was part of a sad $90 to go order after a really long two weeks at work. I ordered one beef taco, refried beans, extra lettuce, no sour cream. I got two tacos, black beans, no lettuce, and sour cream. My wife ordered chicken enchiladas that were late to the table. When delivered, they were cheese enchiladas, not chicken. The replacements were so late she just got them to go. The tab was wrong, and I had to send it back for correction. Really good Mexican food with even better service! We stopped here with a party of 7 in the pouring rain and were sat immediately. The service was incredible with both our food and drinks showing up within minutes of ordering them. We ordered the queso to start and it was so good we ordered a 2nd order. The chips and salsa were also really good by themselves, and our server kept them coming throughout the meal. I ordered the coconut shrimp, which was a bit too thick on coconut strips for me. Otherwise it was a nice light fry and large shrimp. For my meal I ordered the cheese enchiladas which had an ancho chili sauce that was good, and came with rice and beans that were also tasty. We stopped for appetizers while we were doing the NSB Wine Walk. We sat outside & it was such a festive atmosphere. There was a one man kettle drum player. The food was better than expected. I ate here years ago & it wasn't good. Based on how good the appetizers were, we will definitely try it again for dinner. The Service was excellent. It was Attentive but not rushed. First time at Clancys Cantina in new Smyrna and dropped in for lunch on a Tuesday. Much to my excitement, this was taco Tuesday! Tried their hard beef tacos with a side of rice and beans. Very enjoyable and very filling. I really liked their salsa and chips and the flavor of their salsa was excellent! Prices were high. Food less than authentic. I am from California and know real Mexican food. This was less than desirable. We got the beef soft tacos and grilled chicken tacos. Cheese dip. Rice and beans. The rice is straight out of a microwave and taste horrible. The rice has an after taste. Avoid it. The beans are a slab thrown on your plate. The tacos were the only things ok. Order the grilled chicken a la carte if you even go here. I just wouldn't ever go here again to be honest. Oh the water with a slice of lemon was worth my money. Food was just horrible. This Mexican restaurant has such a fun vibe to it, from all the colorful decor, delicious food, and of course refreshing margaritas! The chicken Chimichanga and their homemade chips/salsa was bomb. Make sure to try their mango margarita! The BEST Chili Relleno I have had! I had dinner here and started my meal off with a skinny spicy margarita and it was perfect. Spicy with some heat and perfectly made. We decided to get out of the house and take a little day trip to New Smyrna beach, after driving from one restaurant to the other looking for one that take precautions, such as the servers wearing masks and tables 6-ft apart and came upon Clancy's. The service was very good, but the food was just okay. We did not love the salsa that came with the chips and salsa. And the food was pretty plain and bland. The happy hour drinks could have used a little more alcohol. We did enjoy the desserts and sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere felt great after being in quarantine for so many weeks. Don't know if the business has a new owner but the food was not up to par as in years past. My current visit was a disappointment as the food was cold. My wife ordered a chicken and beef taco plate with rice and refried beans and the beans tasted like it was just out of the can and the taco's were really dry. This is a review that is hard to write. I should've written it on my Birthday in October of 2019 because of the poor service and horrible quality food (cold Velveeta over a cold soggy "chimichanga"). Keep in mind I have been a Clancy's regular as an avid NSB surfer/local for 30 years ~ Since they were behind Red Dog Surf Shop. This past visit was ridiculous! My guy friend and I walked in. The energy was weird so I said let's go to The Breakers but KJ (who I shook his hand 3x but yet he refused to give me his name) was already serving him. I was disrespected and discarded. I politely walked away from the bar and found Lauren Clancy looking for the person in charge. She said "We'll serve you 1 drink and that's it!" in a very nasty way. And mentioned the guy I was with. There was obviously a personal vendetta as another bartender in the area stated to me later when he said "I served you." I said Lauren,,"I'm a bartender and I've known you and your family for decades. What is your reason?" She didn't have one except to bring up the guy's name. She didn't know we had been there less than a week prior and received excellent service. I left the building and she followed me. Then obnoxiously closed the door like I was a transient. Absolutely horrible! To the Clancys ~ You all should be ashamed of your daughter and her unprofessionalism. Steer clear ppl. KJ and Lauren are very ugly and I had amazing memories including last week except for being with my ex on my Birthday 3.5 years ago. No excuse. Food was bad then. My husband and I stopped in when we were staying in New Smyrna Beach. We really liked the patio atmosphere. It was cozy, cute and colorful. To start the strawberry margaritas were fantastic! My husband ordered the Raging burrito and was pleasantly surprised by the combination. Mama always said if you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing at all. As a Yelp-er I have to say something and sadly in Clancy's case, it's not good. The good: Service was sweet and attentive. The chips were warm and tasty The bad: Cannot believe how dreadful just about everything else was that we ate, from the over-fried chile relleno with tasteless sauce, to the cheap house red wine that smelled like turpentine, to the shrimp tacos that, while full of shrimp, were cooked in such a spicy and yet flavorless way that they were just hot but not good. It wasn't even cheap! There are many tasty places to have good, cheap eats in NSB and this is not one of them. Come for chips and drinks, maybe. read more

We really love this place we've always had good food and drinks and it's super convenient if you are close to Flagler! The reason for only 4 stars is bc of allergen risk. The fry peanuts in their fryer every so often this is the same fryer as their tortilla chips. We have a family member with a severe peanut tree nut allergy. We found out by asking our server to double check with the chef. It would be great if management used a separate fryer but I understand they only fry the peanuts every so often and they do change oil after they have fried them. I would ask for other patrons that they post this information so other patrons are aware and can double check before consuming any products from the fryer. If management replies and makes a safe change for those it's this allergen risk I will change my review to 5 stars! read more

Well I wrote a post on Clancy's Cantina page but I guess they didn't like it and deleted it! Today we visited there for early dinner. Ordered chicken fajita $18 and chicken quesadilla $15. The food was absolutely disgusting. The portions were extremely small and the quality subpar. We asked for it to be taken back and were told the manager would come out. I guess the manager was not interested, so we paid for our drinks and left tip. We told the waitress that we knew it wasn't her fault and left. As we were leaving, the hostess said "and if you are parked in our parking lot you better move it or we will have you towed"! Seriously, I have lived here for 37 years and eaten in probably every restaurant. I can say we have never been spoken to so rudely or experienced worst food ever. Please see pics of food. read more
