The absolute BEST thing about my experience here was the lovely customer service by an amazing team! Our server was the sweetest person and the team seems dedicated! We walked up a few flights of stairs to enter the restaurant, which is located above a seafood restaurant. So, I'm not sure if the restaurant is accessible for those that have mobility challenges. We sat outside on the patio in order to enjoy a view of the ocean! The day was beautiful! We ordered birria tacos, a chicken quesadilla, and horchata. The tacos came with ranch style beans that looked yummy, but they didn't taste great. There was a funny aftertaste that I didn't prefer despite positive reviews. I didn't finish them. For some reason, I was hoping for delicious, scratch-made horchata. I was disappointed by the artificial tasting, watery mix. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Not a great experience on Friday evening. Place was busy, as always (we've been before). Seated at a table right in the mushing hand action. Good and fun vibe with lots of TV sports. Our server was awful. Longer waits than surrounding tables, hot the order slightly off, but forgot to enter my daughter's dinner. To make it worse, she abandoned our table after that and a friendly manager took over. Not sure why, as I was not rude (I promise!). Margarita (house) and Paloma were delicious and fresh. We enjoyed the complimentary basket of chips and salsa. Their salsa is excellent. Hubby ordered Carnitas and I ordered combo Shrimp and Chicken. Both meals were delicious and plated nicely. Portions were very large. We sat at the bar with a narrow view of the ocean. Our bartender was very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! I know a lot of people who absolutely love this place, and maybe it's more authentic than I'm used to, but it was not at all the type of Mexican food I was expecting (one of my favorites in the area is Salsa's). I ordered the cheese enchiladas which came with choice of beans and rice. They had a different kind of cheese than I usually have on enchiladas. We found our new favorite beachside eats! Located directly across the street from New Smyrna Beach. The building appears to be just the famous Boston's Fish House but it's located directly on top. They have inside and outdoor seating. The service here was wonderful. They seated us immediately and were very accommodating for our kids. The server knew the menu well and helped us pick everything. The children's menu is not listed but they do have one. First let me start by saying they make their chips homemade from freshly made tortillas. They are incredible. For food we ordered Birria Tacos and Mahi Fish Tacos. The fish is used from Boston's Fish house below. Our son got tenders and fries. The food was on the pricier side scaling from $15-20 but it was very worth it. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. For drinks they have lots of amazing margaritas to choose from. They do margarita flights which was the most exciting surprise for us. If it weren't for our server we wouldn't have known. We love our Margs and every single one was amazing. The spicy pineapple and watermelon were my favorite. My husbands favorite was the skinny Margarita made with fresh lime juice. Overall it was such a great visit. Carlos is absolutely amazing I one hundred percent recommend asking for him. He had excellent recommendations and fantastic service. The drinks are by far the best I've ever had at any Mexican restaurants and happy hour is all day on Wednesday and Thursdays! We just stopped in for chips, dip, and margaritas! This used to be one of my favorite places to go. The quality is good but my favorite item: shrimp nachos USED to be a generous portion of food. I've travelled the entire Southwest US Texas through Socal. This place stands up to many of the Mexican restaurants I've frequented along the way. I love mole sauce and I once ordered their chicken mole dish at La Terazza and it was very good. But, it spawned the thought to try the mole sauce on their chicken enchiladas. ¡Muy Bueno! Now, that's all I order when I go there. You won't find it on their menu, so you'll have to ask for it. We had a great experience eating at La Terraza. This place has inside and outside seating so we did not have to wait for a table. The service was very good from start to finish. I got the chicken burrito which was full of shredded chicken, beans, and rice. It was cooked just right, the tortilla was warm and browned on the outside. My meal came with a side of beans and Mexican sour cream. Not sure what was in the sour cream but OMG could not get enough of it. My wife got the Gordita with chicken. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It also came with the sour cream. If you like good Mexican food this is the place for you. read more

I love Mexican food and this place rocks! Great margaritas, tasty lengua tacos and yummy churros. We visit every year and every year I can't wait to come back. Only thing I'd change are: less oil and less salt on the chips, bottle water option and/or filtered drinking water (the tap water be tasting so funky) and newer or better utensils (the fork picks up like 5 grains of rice). Other than that I think this place is pretty awesome . Looking forward to dining there again soon. read more

I would love to embellish my experience here, but it's not necessary this place makes the grade on it's own - the interior is open and inviting as are the members of the staff that I interacted with during my recent visit. The previous proprietor had earned my loyalty so I was disappointed when I heard they closed their doors, but the new owners has keep much of the layout and furnishings intact so the comfort level goes unchanged in my opinion, in short one would think only the name has changed the rest of the operation is the same but that's not the case when it comes to the food. I love the salsa it's hot hot hot, there's no need to doctor it up with the bottles of habanero sauces you find at most Mexican Restaurants I'm sure there are some of those available if you need to kick it up a little more. I love the fact that the salsa is refrigerated and comes to the table in its own separate container ready to be distributed as I choose - the salsa arrived with a basket of freshly fried chips still warm and light that holds on to any salt you may want to add. It seems everyone is talking about the Margaritas and we too partook but as much as I'm not the normal "beer drinker" I do love a ice cold Mexican draft when dining on this type of food. We ordered Chicken Enchiladas and Shredded Beef Tamales for our entrees, both came with rice and rancho beans (the beans are delicious) - the portions are impressive but it's not cheap by any means but you can see and taste the quality although I am going to critique the tamales some. I asked our server what he thought about the tamales prior to ordering then but he admitted he hadn't been here long enough to have tasted everything so I let me imagination blur my judgement and ordered them blind - I was hoping the would come wrapped in corn husk and mimic how they were intended to be, in my opinion they were a little disappointing the masa was a bit dry and filled with lots of tender pot roast, by no means were they bad just nothing authentic so I ordered another beer to get through them. We enjoyed our visit and definitely plan to return and explore the menu some more.
