The service and the quality of the food makes this excellent restaurant a top choice.

Had a reservation for Sunday night at 6:30. We arrived and our table was ready! We were sat and it was quite busy. There was a power outage in the area so all the locals were out to find dinner. Servers running around, and a guy who looked like the owner, came in with groceries and was later handing out dishes. Our server came by and said they'd bring our choice of water right out- tap, sparkling, bottled still, and grab our drink order. I asked for the house Chianti. It was really good and only $8, so I thought man, for $8, I will have another glass. Ha! When the bill came, they charged me $28! Apparently they were not serving me the house Chianti or they rang me up wrong. I don't know but that was a big surprise. We started with the fried calamari, burrata, meatballs, Cesar salad and octopus. They did not have the octopus carpaccio on the menu but they had a grilled octopus so we said we would try it. It was a bit chewy- I've had way more tender at other places. It could also use some char marks. The meatballs were small and although the menu said served with ricotta and Parmesan- the amount of cheese on top was sad. The meatballs were good and the marinara sauce is delicious. The Cesar salad was awesome. I loved the croutons and the side of anchovies. It was perfectly dressed and not too much cheese. The burrata was delicious; a little pesto on top with a lot of arugula and a huge heirloom tomato. The calamari was pretty standard. My husband said the calamari was too chewy and he did not enjoy the octopus texture at all- leaving his chewed bite in a napkin. My folks seemed to not care. The bread they serve with the oil and balsamic is delicious. It came out hot from the oven. Wow. I had the lasagna- it's a small serving but I was already full. I took a couple bites. It was good. I like their bolognese sauce. We had the three specials- the lobster and seafood fra diavolo, the red snapper and Shrimp on linguini with the white wine tomato sauce, the tomahawk veal chop Parmesan w linguini. Everything was so good. The snapper was a large portion- looked like only 2 shrimp but there were 3-4 more underneath the fish. It was a light cream sauce. Very good. The tomahawk veal was enormous. You can't tell by the pic because the plate is a huge platter. They said it is 16oz but to me it looked like 38oz. It was really good. The lobster fra diavolo they made not spicy for my mom which is amazing because they were so busy and they really don't take custom orders. But she was very happy with the not spicy sauce. The lobster I was afraid would be overcooked because I feel like everywhere overcooks them, but this place did not! It was tender and not chewy. So all our entrees came out perfect. The owner was around- he's the one who brought me salt and he brought some of our appetizers. He was very helpful. For dessert I had to have the cannoli. They fill them fresh, I know it because the shell was so crispy. We also had 3 martini specials- the key lime pie martini, the pistachio martini and the tiramisu martini. All were good. The key lime was different than most restaurants - more tart and less thick. The tiramisu martini was everyone's favorite. Because of that, we got the tiramisu cake to go! It's circular and not from a sheet cake. It's very pretty and tasted really good. We got one bite before we bagged it up. Our server did a great job. She was pretty new. We told her what we loved, including the bread- and she went and bagged some up for us to go! Wow! Great service. My only complaint is the mix up on the wine. The house Chianti is what I ordered. I may or may not have gotten that, but I was definitely charged for something else. I expected $16 and instead it was $28. I probably should have complained but we otherwise had a good time. Well, first let me say that the staff was just unbelievable. There was just going going friendly smiles suggestion what we should drink what should we eat telling us the specials?. very nice, great romance they have a gentleman playing music live music in the corner which we really couldn't hear cause once it got busy you couldn't even hear yourself. It was like we were a reason. Our voices even allowed us so we can hear our self so maybe next time we'll eat outside. It was a great experience. You can see it's family. They were working together. The food was very good very good. Think we just needs a bigger place so we can hear our stuff at the table, but it was a fantastic experience. We had an amazing dinner! The staff was incredible and the live music was truly top notch. The gentlemen singing was uber talented and also played the sax! The smoked old fashioned was really well done, and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again. The Antipasto appetizer was really good! Our mains were excellent. I got the grouper and shrimp special and at first I was worried as the first bite was really fishy, but I realized there was just some blood line left in the fillet (which was HUGE portion by the way). I removed the blood line parts and the rest of the fillet was excellent. So happy! Went as a party of 4 on a Monday night. They were busier than expected but service was prompt and very friendly. The dining room is comfortable and the live saxophone music was phenomenal! Food was very good. Highlights were the beet salad although a bit awkward in a martini glass. Candied walnuts added a nice crunch. Seafood special was halibut but it was sold out. Antipasto board was good, frito misto was good but slightly overcooked. Not bad but not perfect. Veal Marsala looked good as did the carpaccio. Upon arrival the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We were greeted immediately and sat at a pleasant table. My parents liked the cushions and pillow available on the booth side of the table as it was extra comfortable. We ordered the beet appetizer in the martini class and it was delectable! The ricotta cheese was so creamy and tasteful and paired excellently with the beats. I highly recommend! My parents both had pasta dishes that they agreed were absolutely delicious! My family and I are Italian, so naturally we have to try all the Italian restaurants in town! I heard this place has a cheese wheel, so my curiosity began to grown. We came here on a Thursday evening with a reservation and were greeted by an angry young woman who told us there would be a wait. We waited patiently for 5-10 minutes as she stared into the abyss that was her podium. Whether she was on a phone or tablet, no one will know. Eventually we made our way inside to our cramped table. Much precaution had to be taken to not hit the seats behind you or have a waiter run into you as they went by. Removal of a few tables would greatly benefit the flow of traffic inside. An older gentleman was our waiter who told us all about the specials and drink options. We decided on calamari which came out hot and crispy. For dinner, we ordered the lasagna, piccata and marsala. The food came out hot and had good flavor. However, I don't think the price fairly reflects the portion served given the numerous top-notch Italian restaurants in the area. Maybe it was just the evening we came but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant off of first impressions. The Garlic, Baci and Tianos will remain my go-tos for now. read more

When it comes to being in the New Smyrna Beach area, we have our favorite spots. Move over The Garlic, becuass this is now #1 on our list!! The ambiance, the service, the food. 5/5 Bread served with Roasted red pepper sun dried pesto, never had it but it was phenomenal! The bread also, as my wife put it, tasted like it was airfryed, as a compliment thought, but for me it tasted great no matter what way it was made! We were wowed by the fact that Friday and Saturday nights they have a live musician performing outside, (he even takes requests!), there doors are open so even inside you can hear it! There is about 8 or 10 tables outside if you decide to sit outside! We sat outside since we have the baby in his stroller and we know how cramped it can get inside and difficult to walk by as a server with the stroller there! We were promptly greeted by Jay T, our server, who instantly set the tone for Limoncello's amazing atmosphere and ambiance! My wife got a martini, (it's a martini bar so we gotta try one right?!) and I myself got a Peroni. [We saw two people who were greeting almost everyone walking in and you felt like it was like the interaction you have when your with family but I honestly believe it was the owner and his wife! ] We got the Bruschetta for an appetizer. Didn't take long before it was before us! Great flavor! My wife ordered the Cappellini Pomodoro. It looked sooooo good! My wife doesn't like too oily or too creamy and it was just right! Amazing flavor, even if it didn't have any protein on it it was still amazing! I ordered the Carbonara. I'm a stickler for my Carbonara! But THIS WAS THE BEST CARBONARA IVE HAD IN MY LIFE!! I have to all caps that because that's how good it was! Didn't look like a lot of food but it was a great portion! I asked the (who I believed to be the owner) what he recommended for a post meal beverage and he recommended me the Fernat-Branca, which is an Italian dark liqueur. It has a dark bitter black licorice flavor to it, although it was different I still enjoyed it. Dined here twice this week because the service and food was so delicious! The servers are some of the best I've ever had! So professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Kudos to the chef for 2 delicious dinners-pulpo appetizer was perfect- not dried out with a light lemon sauce. The veal piccata was tender with just the right amount of lemon, capers and artichokes. My vongole con linguine was a pleasant surprise-tons of tiny sweet Manila clams in a light olive oil and garlic sauce with fresh cherry tomatoes. Yummy! The 2 desserts we tried the pistachio cheesecake and limoncello cake were both divine. During the week we ate inside and it was pleasant because it was not too crowded. We love Italian so we were all looking forward to a delicious dinner. We were seated promptly (we had a reservation) and they were gracious enough to accommodate our large party. The service was very good, our very tall, young server (cannot recall his name) did a fine job and the kitchen got our food out pretty quickly. The appetizers were so good (zucchini flower was tempura style-heavy; meatballs -light; calamari-crispy & tender; eggplant rollitini-tasty). The dinner dishes were hot and miss. My veal picatta was just right and my husband's lobster ravioli was delicious. Others in the party said some dishes were heavy (pasta carbonara) overly cheesy, the pancetta a little tough. Had dinner from here delivered via DoorDash. The food arrived packaged nicely and warm. I liked that they provided bread and some dipping oil/Parmesan cheese to accompany the food (the dip was delish!) I ordered the linguine limoncello which was pretty good but I think next time I would order something else. In the end this is just pasta and shrimp. I wish there was something more to this dish. Maybe artichokes or some veggie. The sauce was tasty, but it just needed more. My dad had the chicken piccata which looked amazing and he said it was great. It had a good amount of chicken and lots of sauce. I think I would try this next time. I recommend trying this place. I hope one day to visit for dine in. read more

Went to this place last night with a small group of friends after a sunset boat tour. We were able to get a table for 5 right away, which was great on a busy Saturday night. We ordered the Baseball Burrata & Frito Misto (without anchovies) to start off with. The Burrata was great, but we had to send the Frito Misto back - several of us tried 1 bite of the calamari and it was terrible (had a super strong non-calamari fish taste to it). It also came with anchovies on it, despite my friend saying twice "no anchovies". I also ordered the Tijuana Cesar salad to start. I wish I would've looked more closely at the ingredients, because this salad was slathered in anchovies, which made the entire thing taste like anchovies. Besides that issue, the salad itself was VERY small for $9 - definitely not worth it. For entrees my friends enjoyed the Beef Carpaccio (good), Chicken Marsala (good), Tuna Steak Special (good), and the Fish of the Day Francese (good). I got the Carbonara and it was also good. We were looking for someplace different this time so we decided to try our Collection of places that we wanted to visit. Limoncello sounded like a nice Italian restaurant and it wasn't too far away so we opted to go there. Plenty of parking; there's two restaurants pretty much side-by-side. One appears to be a raw bar the other but obviously is Limoncello. We had reservations at 7, we got there promptly and I don't think reservations were necessary but I was glad to have them as it certainly did get much busier. Our waiter, Terrance, was exceptional and was only outshined by the food. We started out with the Burrata with Blood Oranges. It was FANTASTIC. So creamy, with the sweetness from the honey cutting the acid from the orange. WOW. I really can't even begin to describe the flavors of the dishes that we had other than to say that my wife's chicken marsala (which was very good) didn't even come close to the dish I had. Once she had a bite of my dish she stopped eating hers. Terrance noticed this and promptly took her meal away and had it replaced with a duplicate of my dish. I'm not going to tell you what it is that I ate because I think you need to go figure it out for yourself. But it was phenomenal. As were the home made desserts. As we were leaving the owner and manager greeted us and we had a nice conversation about our meal. We learned that Limoncello is 1 of 6 concepts they manage. Good talent in the kitchen and the front of the house. Not only will we be back with others, but we are going to visit Savannah in a few weeks and look forward to dining at one of their other restaurants. read more

Fast, friendly and knowledgeable service. Expansive and authentic menu, and good solid entertainment makes for a delightful evening out. I had the Carbonara the first go round, because they need to be judged on a classic dish, and they passed with straight A's, this time I did the signature Limoncello pasta can I rate above straight A's, creamy, rich and lemony without being overpowering. What a Gem! From walking in to being seated and not rushed through Cocktails, Appetizers, Entrees and Dessert is so welcome. Presentation was really well done, cold foods cold and hot foods hot, all served at appropriate temperatures. No rushing between courses. One of the best Veal Marsala's I've ever had. I'm Italian...I traveled ( and are) through Italy blah blah blah Last week I saw a story about a restaurant in NSB called Limoncello South. My husband and I figured what the heck do we have to lose so we went there tonight. We pulled into a little plaza and looked at one another skeptically. At this point we did not have high hopes. On the walk from the car we decided that we were probably going to be disappointed and braced ourselves. When we walked in the door we found a cute little place with two very friendly hosts. When we told them it was our first time and that we saw it on Florida On A Tankful they immediately rushed us to the VIP table. Nice touch. Luigi, the owner was very happy to meet us. I'm guessing not a lot of people drive in from Titusville. First came the bread. Nice and crusty with a beautiful olive oil for dipping. Then came my beet cobbler. Yep you heard that right. Next time it will be my dessert. It was beets, heavy whipping cream, strawberries and candied walnuts. OMG. I shared it with my husband and he was in heaven. My Caesar salad was a deconstructed salad, 4 leaves on a plate with appropriate toppings. They make their own dressing. It's not enough to make a meal out of but very good. I don't eat much meat but decided on the chicken piccata. It was so good. My husband got the filet. It came with mushroom risotto and asparagus. He hates both those things. He loved both those things. I think he would have licked the plate if I had gone to the restroom. He told me if he is ever on death row that this is what he wants. It is one thing to have bad food at a low price or to pay a high price for superior food, but when one has to pay a high price for poor food that is had to take. I had a terrible meal at Limonchello where the veal was over cooked and greasy. Their meals do not come with a salad or soup and are just not worth the price. When the server noticed that I was not eating my meal I told him it was not agreeing with me and there was no offer to substitute something else. This was my second time there and will be my last. This may well be the worst Italian restaurant in New Smyrna which is saying a lot since there are over 20 restaurants in the area. read more

We've given Limoncello a shot a couple times and have never been impressed. The drinks are good and atmosphere is nice, but the food is quite subpar especially considering the prices. You can get much larger and more delicious portions at other NSB establishments for a similar price. The group of 4 we dined with will not be dining here again. read more
