We are outside, pumpkins come from farms, and yet dogs are not allowed at all of the "best" pumpkin patches (service animal only limitations are extremely irritating). If you want snacks and rides then go to the "better" pumpkin patches. If you want to be able to bring your whole family (well-behaved pets welcome!) and support local business come here. I saw two young boys play fighting in the patch and nobody even blinked. Yet my dogs that are well trained and better behaved than a majority of adults I meet are not welcomed? A worker here gave my dog treats, and hid the treats so kids don't accidentally eat them. The people that work here care and they have my business going forward. read more

We went to Clancy's to buy a Christmas tree and were very disappointed. First, they don't post the prices of their trees. You have to ask an employee to see the price list. More troubling than that was that the employee who was helping us tried to cheat us about the height of the tree. When we asked him to measure a tree he said it was 6 feet tall but it was barely taller than me. Turns out he was holding his measuring stick on a diagonal angle rather than straight up. When we told him there was no way that tree was 6 feet tall, he held the measuring stick up straight and said, okay it's 5 1/2 feet. Trees are expensive enough without being cheated. We're buying our tree from The Guardsmen at Fort Mason, where the proceeds support local youth. read more

This review is for the SF Zoo location. We've been coming here for years, but unfortunately our visit this past week was disappointing. The tree selection wasn't great, and the customer service was lacking. We paid extra, as we usually do, for the additional services. However, the tree was tied so poorly that it almost fell off the car on the way home, and the water pail was hammered in so badly that it fell right off. If you're going to up-charge for a service, it should be done correctly. Sadly, this will likely be our last year purchasing from this location. This is where Halloween dreams go to die. Full disclosure, we're spoiled by going to Arata's Pumpkin Farm down in Half Moon Bay every year, but weren't able to make it down there this year. But we still wanted some pumpkins, so this seemed like an easy way of getting our autumnal gourd fix and hopefully having some fun in the process. Sigh. It was so depressing. Even the three "pet" turkeys there were really depressed. When we came near them, they started chirping loudly at us, which made me think they wanted us to leave. But they rushed to the front of their enclosure and then quieted down, just giving mini-chirps, which were so cute. When we went to leave, they started the loud chirps again, leading me to conclude that they were either lonely or hungry or bored, and most likely some combo of all of the above! It made me sad for them. I don't even know why they were there in that tiny enclosure. The selection of pumpkins was fine, not spectacular, but they were all sitting on moist hay, filthy, and all on the ground, so it was hard for anyone in a wheelchair to pick them up. They did have tables there, but those tables had a lot of random trick-or-treating plastic junk that looked like it was straight from Amazon. There were a few displays of Halloween creatures, but not much. The "hay ride" was a joke...it was a big long truck with exactly zero hay bales on it!! I'm not really sure why they were giving "hay rides" after dark around a sad parking lot anyway, and the only takers were one couple with a toddler. But we got some pumpkins, which were crazy expensive (next time, we'll just go to Trader Joe's, which has the same selection, but their pumpkins aren't filthy and are considerably more reasonable in price!). Now to remind my cat yet again this year that pumpkins aren't his favorite food group....! Pluses include ample parking and...well, that's it, really. But honestly the prices made it feel like it just wasn't worth it to shlepp out to the avenues for a mediocre "pumpkin patch" experience. This might be a lot more fun for little kids who've never been to one of the bigger pumpkin patches in Half Moon Bay. But for a jaded adult like me, there was no magic here, just sticker shock for a middling selection of what I could find for a lot less money at the grocery store. read more

I was annoyed when the person working at the pumpkin patch on a Friday evening dressed down my son for his behavior seconds after I had done the same (he tossed a smaller pumpkin into the bin instead of being gentle with it, as the signs requested.) but as I had JUST told him not to do that, having him be told AGAIN was irritating to me because it was unnecessary. I get it, there are a lot of shitty parents out there, but I'm not one of them and having him berated twice for the same behavior was overkill. Then, when he admired a large stuffed animal on a table, he was told it was "for display only." My son: "oh, so you're just showing off." that same person who previously berated his behavior, "Not showing off - it's for little kids to play with." um, that's not what "for display purposes only" means, lady. You just contradicted yourself. I get it, it's been a long day, but still. Hope you noticed we were paying customers. Didn't need the attitude. Won't be back. There's plenty of pumpkin patches in the sea, and besides, I hear the city wants that parking lot for housing, which, frankly, would help a lot more people than having a pumpkin patch there does. read more

Went out to the patch this year, it's pretty much the same setup as the previous years. Lots of pumpkins, a small hayride in the back lot, and a couple of turkeys for all to see. They take Apple Pay and the pumpkin you pay for will depend on its size. We got a decently sized one for about $10 (medium). Other types of pumpkins with different textures and colors will be 1.5x the amount of the regular pumpkins. Service was pretty fast and they go out and meet you. That's about it! read more

Going to Clancy's is a tradition my family and I have enjoyed for years, going to both the pumpkin patch and the Christmas trees to enjoy taking photos, enjoying supporting a home-grown business, and purchasing pumpkins and trees that have lasted us months and decorations that we put up each year. We've enjoyed a very welcoming family-friendly atmosphere that, provided by the staff, is also usually exceptional. That is until this year. This year, there was a very apparent level of prejudice cast upon my husband and I when walking throughout the grounds with our kids, including multiple looks up-and-down from staff, and feeling very unwelcome by the two women who were at the cashiers table. The level of dismissiveness and rude behavior by these two is so disappointing. We won't be returning this year to purchase anything during the tree-buying season, and we won't be returning again next year, either. It's sad to see the amount of homophobic judgement from a once welcoming establishment, especially in middle of San Francisco. I'm used to larger pumpkin patches because I go out the farms but this one is pretty awesome for being in the middle of the city. Cute displays and the variety of pumpkins they have make for some nice Instgrammy displays in your home. Plus they have a couple of photo ups and they have nice Halloween decorations and tools you can purchase to make your pumpkin into a proper jack o'lantern. This is my first time going to Clancy's and I think I went to the new location. This review is for the 2101 Sloat Blvd next to the SF zoo. Went on a weekday around 3ish and it wasn't busy at all. They're dog friendly and I was able to get cute pics of my doodles without anyone in the background. They have a little "zoo" with stuffed animals on hay and it's a nice little attraction. Pumpkins were decently priced. Obviously the bigger the pumpkin the more expensive. Got 2 medium size pumpkins and 2 tiny ones for about $18. Came here partly to see what the fuss what about, and partly because it's a so-called San Francisco "staple". In either case, I finally got to experience this place with my girls. But let me tell you, this place is PRICEY! Although service was nice and prompt, a 5 foot tree cost over $113!!! The tree is "okay" however for that price, I expect the tree to be perfect. Mine definitely had a couple more gaps than what I noticed while there on site. This place is cute and convenient, especially if you live on this side of town. I also think they deliver, which is an added convenience (I don't think I've ever heard of tree delivery service!). But be forwarned: the parking lot is super small and fills up fast. read more

Came here for a Christmas tree but their smallest size was still too large for what I'm looking for. Overall 3 stars because I felt nickled and dimed while I was there, not because I couldn't find my tree. Went to the sloat location. They price their trees by the height. I was looking for a small trees and all the small trees had about a foot of a skinny bare branch on top that barely had any green foliage. They still charge for the total height of the tree, including that bare little stick in top. It's a extra $10 if you want to have a water tray installed. read more

Saddest hayride in all the land. Kids walked on to it not knowing you needed tickets, then shelled out $6/person to do a couple figure 8s around the props by the parking lot. Kids were amused I guess. Everyone sits on some scattered hay on the trailer, so be prepared. Where this place shines is the diversity of pumpkins and gourds. Some really cool varieties. Such a cute little pumpkin patch in the residential area of SF. I believe it's the only pumpkin patch in SF proper. No fees unless you want to go on a tracker ride for $4. Clancy's is a cute pumpkin patch that's perfect for families! The location is not too big and not too small either. They have different sized pumpkins to choose from and each can be excitedly carried by a little one, once they've chosen their perfect pumpkin! We went around 11am on a Saturday morning and the place wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be. Definitely can still socially distance safely! They also have a section with live Turkeys for little kids to enjoy seeing. Also, they have a tent set up with carving materials & other spooky Halloween decor that kids enjoyed. Today we shared our "secret" lil spot with some friends and made it a fun little outting for about an hour. The kids all seemed to enjoy the hay maze and oogled over the gigantoid turkeys and hiding bunnies. An adorable pumpkin patch in the city for kids and dogs! With free parking, what more can you ask? I came here with my husband and our Corgi to pick up a pumpkin. They have a good variety of pumpkins at different sizes. Nothing crazy and monstrous, but great for the average family. You can tow a wheelbarrow behind you while browsing, how adorable! We ended up getting 5 fist sized pumpkins ($2 each) and 2 large pumpkins: one head sized and the other twice as big. These two large ones turned out to be the same price ($15), so if you are trying to cook it or want a better deal, go for the bigger ones. Other activities includes a hay tunnel, live turkeys, and a tractor ride. It was quite small; we only spent 15 minutes total. But we got some great photos and got in the holiday spirit. I like how it's free to browse unlike some other pumpkin patches where you have to buy a wrist band to enter, which is way too much commitment. Tips: 1. Bring your (well behaved) dog! 2.
