I cannot recommend them enough. Great service, fair pricing, and honesty (which is priceless in this business). After getting what seemed like an outrageous quote/recommendation (~$2400) for some steering/suspension repairs & general maintenance (coolant & transmission) from another mechanic, I called and got a quote from these guys who came in $1,000 less! After inspecting the car, they couldn't reproduce the noise or find anything wrong with the steering/suspension and didn't recommend proceeding with any of the costly repairs. Brian was extremely helpful and took the time to explain everything. Claremont Auto's price for the Coolant and Transmission Fluid services were less than half the other shops'! She left her vehicle in their possession, and they sold her miscellaneous unnecessary service, such as air filters etc. Upon receiving the vehicle upon pick up, she noticed damage to the passenger door. This shop is superior in every way to any repair facility I have used in 50 years of car ownership! An absolute, jaw-droppingly efficient, reasonably priced, honest and courteous team of professionals, Claremont Auto Care is, simply stated, the best shop I have ever used. I cannot recommend it more highly. You will understand my enthusiasm the first time you bring in your vehicle; you live an empty life of regret if you don't. Let me address two issues: I have no connection to this repair facility nor to anyone working there. A week ago we were utter strangers. My opinion is not biased by personal relationships. Second, my own father was a Ford dealer for 25 years, and I have worked "in the business" several times in the past as have all my immediate family members. Claremont Auto Care delivers better service and customers care than my dear dad's dealership, which is a statement I have never made before now. I brought in an older, high mileage vehicle. It needed diagnosis and repair. Costs are a critical issue for me. I had the privilege of meeting Jeff Anderson, whom I cannot endorse more highly. Jeff was at once professional and friendly, competent and sensitive to my situation and goals. The details are inconsequential, but the experience is not. Jeff understood what I hoped for him to do, provided me with an honest estimate (which beat a local, well-known competitor by 72%), and remained in daily telephone contact with me every day my car was in their hands. From our first handshake, Jeff's words and recommendations showed me that he was "on my team", committed to achieving my goals at a minimum expense; he didn't at any time waiver from this posture of helping me as if I were long lost relation, and I have not thought for even a second that his efforts were anything but centered on solving my problem. I have not felt that unspoken but simmering tension so common at other shops between customers and mechanics. At Claremont Auto Care I never questioned that the employees had my best interests in mind. This feeling of collegiality is unmatched ever in my experience, and Jeff is the reason why. I could go on waxing poetic about Claremont Auto Center's competencies and concerns, but I have said enough. This shop became in less than a week the auto repair facility to which I plan to return as needed for, well, the rest of my life. I came here because my car makes a awful grinding noise from my front right tire especially when I turn left or make a left U-Turn (no signs of wear or friction anywhere) also feels like it wants to come off my car! My steering wheel has been off axis since I got the used Vehicle and I wanted to have my Transmission fluid levels checked. I did mention about my gears but I told the receptionist to remove it as I would take care of the issue at a later date. (he removes note) When I get an update on my vehicles progress I was told. 1) my tires were balding and that's why it was making sound/trying to come off car. 2) steering wheel is fixed (hooray) 3) my car now has an issue with a valve and gasket and now has a check engine light. What the hell! So either the guy at the front pretended to delete the note. or these guys literally create problems. My vehicle did not have a check engine light prior to coming to this location and now I have a problem that didnt occur until I came to this shop. Either two things took place. One. My vehicle was sabotaged coming to this location. Two. The mechanics here are so bad they could not reassemble what ever they disassembled. Either way I was no longer comfortable with my vehicle here and yelling would not solve my new problems WITH my current unresolved issue. I do not recommend this location and deleted previous review as now I know this place is scammish. I have hesitated to get this repair done on my car because I was worried that I would open up a rabbit hole of issues that would cost hundreds of dollars. My car had very heavy negative camber on the front wheels which was visible when just looking at the wheels in addition to me needing to hold the steering wheel 40° to the left to drive straight. I have used this Auto repair shop for many years.. however, when I called them to do the free AAA 40 pt inspection last week the manager gave me an attitude.. he stated I would not be able to come in for the free service until August 28th.. & essentially told me I would have to wait 4-5 hours for this simple service to be completed.. in other words, the manager wanted to make it as difficult as possible for me to come in. These AAA approved shops get reimbursed from AAA so there's no excuse for this poor customer service.. Ok everyone makes mistakes but it's what a business does after that mistake that makes you a lifetime customer or a one and done with that shop. I brought my Murano in for new spark plugs. It's not a simple job on a Nissan Murano because the top of the engine has to be removed first. They did the job I picked it up and then drove a hundred miles to San Diego and back the next day. When I got home I smelt oil burning and some smoke coming from the hood. I looked all around and noticed that the two lower bolts on the engine cover were not attached. Normally not a big deal but the day before I took it into the shop I took off the cover to check a spark plug to see its condition. While taking off the cover one of the bolts was stuck and took a lot of force to break it loose. I finally got it loose but it broke the plastic mount. It turned out the mount was connected to the valve cover and broke a hole in the cover allowing engine oil to leak out. I didn't see it and neither did the shop when they put in my spark plugs the next day. But had they mounted the cover properly they would have noticed it and I would not have taken it to San Diego and risked running the oil out of my engine which could have severely damaged the engine. I brought it back to the shop and pointed out the fact that they did not mount the bottom engine cover bolts and sent me on my way with oil leaking out of my engine. I told them I broke the mount and caused the hole but they did not notify me of the damage. I spoke to the lead mechanic Jeff and he took a look at my car and said please bring your car in and I will replace the cover you broke at no charge to you. A shop that makes a mistake and then goes above and beyond to fix it. That's my repair shop for life. They stand behind their work and make it right. My car got night-dropped here by a great tow trucker (see S&J Towing) when it died out on the fwy, 100 miles from home and from destination. I spent the night in a cheap motel, got a Yellow Cab (excellent) to Claremont Auto Care. Ozee heard my specific tale of woe, and immediately ran the error codes off my car. Told me exactly what it said, told me exactly how long it would take (2-2 1/2 hrs), because they already had work they were finishing, and recommended the Starbucks across the street. Two and a half later, Ozee calls. He and Dave, one of the two who worked on my car, explained exactly what went wrong as a result of my overheat the night before, how to deal with it short-term, and what it would take to do a full repair. They did NOT lie to me or try to up-sell me, and, having been a mechanic for a while in a past life, I really appreciated the willingness of both Ozee and especially Dave to discuss and answer questions. Ozee even put a gallon jug of water in my back seat, jic, because they'd had to put a gallon of radiator mix in, and he was concerned it might still overheat. 1 hour labor, and a gallon of radiator fluid. Fair, clean charges. This is my whole-hearted recommendation, from a weary traveler, sent safely on his way. read more

Beware! Get a second opinion and take your business elsewhere. My car got stuck in Claremont last weekend and I had AAA tow it to the nearest mechanic which was Claremont Auto Care. After inspecting it, they said I needed a new transmission which would cost me over $2,000. I took it to another mechanic who I trusted and they said all I needed was a new axle. Total cost was $200 to fix my car. Not only did they misdiagnose the damage completely, they charged me $90 for the diagnosis! read more
