The Fuel Control Module on my 2013 BMW X5 was dying and shutting down my fuel pump intermittently causing my engine to shut off. They are really nice here and were able to replace my new fuel control module and recode the new module to work with my BMW. This place is way better than the BMW service dealership. I asked local group on facebook for where to take my long ignored 2009 BMW Z4 to get it "road worthy" again after basically sitting for 3 years straight. There were a few names but Ivan over at Ultimate Werk Shop was a bit of a theme for long term maintenance on BMWs. I wrote him an email friday night expecting to need to call on Monday (because what auto shop reads emails from their website?) but much to my delight I had a well written response from Ivan on Monday morning. We chatted, I towed in my car, and we went over in great detail what we thought the car needed. Ivan suggested some things I hadn't thought of and said it didn't need things I suggested. It was going to be about a week between getting the parts, diagnosis, etc. but he kept me apprised the whole way through. Right on time I got a call that it was ready to go! Brought my BMW in for an oil change and Ivan asked if there was anything wrong with the car before he did anything. I told him I had white smoke coming out of the exhaust, so he offered to do a compression test first. I left the car with him overnight and he called me the next day to tell me his findings. He quoted me for the cost of the repair which, unfortunately, was beyond my budget. So I told him to just go ahead with the oil change and I'd pick the car up the following day. I receive all oil changes and routine maintenance checks from Ivan for my 2008 335i - it is hard to find an honest and meticulous mechanic. I initially went to S&V Auto to get an oil change and a second opinion on replacing my breaks and rotors, which was strongly recommended by another BMW specialist. After careful review, Ivan informed me that I have at least a minimum of 12,000 miles left before needing to change the breaks and the rotors. Lane and his Head Mechanic Ivan impressed me again. I took my Prius in because there was a warning light that stayed on longer than usual at start-up. They diagnosed the problem as being the Prius Starter 12V Starter Battery (Different than the big hybrid batteries). They drove me back to work when I dropped it off, and picked me up, too,. Ivan has been working on my 2001 BMW 530 for years (and my 1989 325 before that). I have followed him from one shop to another, because he is the best BMW mechanic in the area. He gets the job done well and in a reasonable amount of time, and if there is a tricky performance problem, he will figure it out. He also does not recommend unnecessary repairs (like replacing the oil pan gasket on on a 16-year car that is barely leaking, which would cost $1000 when all I have to do is add an extra quart of oil every few months). He's also very friendly, and shows you the parts he had to replace so that you know what is going on. If you want a luxurious waiting area or a loaner car, go to the dealer, but if you want great service at a reasonable price, especially if you have an older BMW, go to Ivan at Ultimate Werkshop. read more
