I have been going to this place for 45 years, since I was 12 years old. Dr. Baggerly is an exceptional doctor, however, the mismanagement by the office is unlike anything I have had to deal with. OVER and OVER again. From being put on hold for over 30 minutes while they check on my order, only to be answered back not knowing why I had called, to never being alerted that my contacts were in, calling weekly being told the contacts weren't in for 6 weeks, to finally getting the lenses and going up to the front desk after waiting 45 minutes with an answer that there is another patient ahead of me for an EYE EXAM. So I would have waited 2 hours. unacceptable. read more

Absolutely love this facility ! I've been coming here since I was 12 years old & Dr. Baggarly has always taken care of me! The staff are always friendly & welcoming upon entering & throughout the day! Luz is such a wonderful girl to see when you first walk in! Very sweet & inviting. Serena is very bubbly & explains what she is doing during pre testing very well! After visiting Baggarly, I went to get some glasses. I love my frames so I ended up getting new lenses only. Julien (fella who sits at the back table) is very helpful during this process. He thoroughly explains what my insurance does & does not cover & the different lens options that I have ! Eugene is also very knowledgeable! I was able to ask him some questions that he ended up giving me all the answers to! This place has rockin staff & a welcoming atmosphere. After I wrote this review, Nicole responded via YELP, I then received a call, text and email from the business. This business deflected all responsibility to the "lab" and did not take responsibility for anything. They lost my frames and did not know how to talk to me. In the end, they agreed to purchase frames at another location to rectify their mistake. All the trust and rapport was gone and they lost all credibility so I will be going elsewhere. read more

I have been going here since 2019 and I love it. Knowledgeable staff and doctors, great cutting edge technology when it comes to eye exams and screenings. I like the option to take photos of the retina instead of dilating the eyes. It is an additional $49 but I find it worth it once a year. Great selection of name brand eye ware and no one rushes you. The staff helps me pick out the frames that will look best for my face, too. I have worn glasses since 6th grade and only had two optometrists. Dr. Baggarly is on another level. I am confident, secure, and don't ever regret the decisions I make at his eye office because of the knowledge staff and doctors share with their patients. I highly recommend going here if you're looking for a new optometrist. It is expensive so definitely use your insurance. read more

Beautiful optometry office. Great convenient location. Plenty of parking I gave the receptionists several chances to see if maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but nope...rude, short, unpleasant, unprofessional FYI This is how you greet someone: "Hello, welcome. Please sign in and I'll be right with you" ...oh but had I been a hot GUY!?!?! They fall all over themselves Anyway, my first appointment was nice because the assistant was very sweet and the doctor was attentive and asked a lot of questions. She helped me discover that I have really dry eyes causing my vision to be too sensitive to lights!! LOVE HER Glasses and contacts are pricey, and they are really, really pushy and salesy. I couldn't get the woman to stop pushing me to make an appointment for contacts $extra$ She was trying to get us to max out all our benefits in one day! I just had my sunglasses made into subscription glasses. I think they're ok and look fantastic Don't let them push you into buying more than you're comfortable with and don't be afraid to ask how much things cost before you buy. Amber the Optician was amazing to work with! I've been wearing glasses since I was 6 years old and I cannot remember a time when picking out glasses was so smooth. I never like anything, and Amber helped me pick the perfect glasses that accommodate my high prescription, gave me so much information, answered all of my questions and took her time with me (because I'm so picky). She helped my mother too, who had nothing but amazing things to say about our visit to the eye doctor's office today. And of course, Dr. Baggarly is amazing. I would not recommend this place. Customer service is awful. Everytime I have ordered glasses nobody has called me to let me know they are ready. I called today and it had almost been two months and the girl tells me that they were ready a week after I ordered them then she put me on hold for awhile while someone else finally got on the line and he couldn't explain why nobody called me. This has happened every time and by the way their glasses aren't cheap. read more

My experience with my recent visit was great from the start with the first person at the counter who greeted me and helped me get an exam appointment the next day, which was moved up later to the same day due to a cancellation. This was helpful since I needed to return a written statement from my eye doctor to the DMV to get my driver's license renewed. Stephanie started my exam with various procedures, and Dr. Nicole Kohan completed the exam with questions and more procedures. Hats off to the friendly and very competent staff! read more

Great Optometry experience!!! When I walked in, they were extremely nice, upfront and very thorough with me during my appointment. I normally go for a specific type of glasses (Ray-Ban, my favorite), and they got me to go out of my comfort zone and try something different. They had great ideas for me and I ended up getting the best pair of glasses I've ever had!!! Even if I sooner or later move out the Claremont area, I'll be coming back to them again. It's doubtful I'll find another place quite like this...especially during this COVID-19 pandemic. read more

Terrible customer service. Hold on to your wallet. This place is a scam! I went there to look at their selection of eyeglasses. They had a frame that I liked, so I made an appointment for an eye exam. While doing so I was asked if I wanted a contact lens exam also. I said no because I only needed new eyeglasses. The response I got was " we can discuss this during your exam", which I thought was odd. During my exam the doctor kept referring to contact lenses. I told him I needed eyeglasses only. At the conclusion of the exam the doctor gave me a trial pair of contacts to try out. I thought it was a courtesy gesture so that I might possibly buy the contacts in the future, so I put them in. When I went to pay, they tried to charge me additional fees for a contact lens exam, and for an order of contact lenses. I told them I only wanted the eyeglasses. They then said I had to remove the contact lenses they had given me that I had already put on my eyes. After doing so they told me to throw them in the trash. I called a few months later to get a copy of my contact lens prescription so I could buy. It came as no surprise to me that they couldn't give me a contact lens prescription since I didn't follow up and get a contact lens fitting, so they said technically I did not have a contact lens prescription, even tho they actually did do the contact lens exam and tried to charge me for one. I told them I would pay the fees they tried to charge me earlier, but was told that I would need another examination. Needless to say, I will never deal with them again. I recommend you stay away also. read more

My eyes are super happy thanks to Dr. Baggarly. First time being examined here and within minutes Dr. Baggarly noticed something odd about how unstable my prescription was, performed a couple tests on me and turns out I have K-Cone! Next thing I know I'm wearing specialty contacts and my vision was never this clear, NEVER! I'm super happy I can see this clear again. Who would've known life comes in HD. Honestly this place is not good. There was a great young optometrist there (who has now moved) and I would have stayed for that doctor but the reception and organization level outside that optometrist is terrible. The receptionist I experienced in person was not only rude and disorganized but continued to not order my contacts and/or give me the correct trials. Still waiting for two weeks for the trials and they have to now reorder, saying the order was never placed. I've gone there in person twice and called multiple times to get access to proper contacts to no avail. read more

I've been going to Dr.Baggerly for over a decade now. The level of service from this place has always been top notch. Not only does Dr. Baggerly remember the smallest details of your personal life but he goes above and beyond to ensure your prescription is perfect every time. I have to give a shout out to the optician who helped me: Julian Gonzalez!! He was so attentive, helpful, and pleasant! I'm a bit high maintenance but never seemed annoyed or put off by my goofy requests and incessant talking. Also, the manager, though I have sadly forgotten his name, stepped in to give me the best possible prices since I do not have vision insurance. Dr. Baggerly is great! The optical shop is the WORST! Do not use! Personal experiences include glasses that were not verified so the wrong prescription was in the frames; other experiences include glasses that were ordered and prepaid and a month later had never been made. NEVER EVER will buy glasses from them again. They should go out of business. The really sad part is that the doctors don't seem to care about the awful optical shop they have! At some point it has to hurt their business unless they have a business model in mind that no one else has. read more

I have worn glasses for about twenty years and I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've ever had with an optometry office.  I'm not sure if it is apathy, disdain, or incompetence, but this place has been nothing but a headache.  If you are in need of glasses or contacts right away, I would definitely not go here.  If you don't like being treated second-class by staff, I would definitely not go here.  If you don't like being jerked around and told contradictory information, I would definitely not go here. My wife and I both got eye exams and ordered new glasses on the same day.  I have no complaints about Dr. Baggarly, who was very knowledgeable and professional.  We ordered our glasses and were told they would contact us in about two weeks to come pick them up.  After three weeks went by we called Claremont Optometry to see if they were in.  We were told it would be another week.  After four weeks we called again and they still weren't ready and they didn't know when they might be.  A manager named Amber took down our information and promised she would call us first thing in the morning and figure out what was going on.  The next day we got a call saying that my wife's glasses will be done next week (something we've been told for the past two weeks) and that my glasses are just missing.  So as of right now, I'm expecting it will be at least another month if they have to reorder them.  On top of it all, some of the staff is short with customers (which I notice is a theme in some of these reviews) and they give out contradictory information.   I understand that because of Covid many businesses are having staffing issues and there has been disruption in the flow of goods, which might make some things take longer and I'm totally fine with that.  I Just expect them to be honest about how long it will really take or if it is taking longer than expected, then relay that information to your customers; don't tell your customers you will call them, then don't'; don't repeatedly tell your customers that their glasses will be ready by a certain time if you have no idea; don't be flippant with customers for no reason.  Just show a little respect for your customer's time and medical needs. TLDR: Claremont Optometry does not respect their customers. read more

I had a lot of trouble here. The lady optometrist gave me a prescription that was incorrect and I got terrible headaches from my new glasses. I had been going here for at least 10 years. My old optometrist at Claremont Optometry, Dr. Johansson, has retired. Claremont optometry did not seem to be interested in helping or able to fix the problem. I had to go elsewhere to a different optometrist and pay again to get a different prescription. I could not even read and I have to read a lot for work, so it was bad. I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Dr. Baggarly has been my optometrist for years. His office is beautiful, he has all of the most up to date diagnostic equipment for eye exams and is a very caring doctor. His staff are always helpful and friendly, Recently I discovered a problem with one of my eyes, a sore had developed very fast on the lower rim and was very painful. I called at noon right after I discovered it, even though they were busy and no appointments available that same day, they worked me in. Dr. Baggarly treated me, explained what it was and I was on my way home in a very short time. I highly recommend him and the team in his office at Claremont Optometry. read more

Wow this was absolutely the worst eye exam and follow up I've ever had. Had to wait forever to be helped picking out glasses a at least 30 minutes. The follow up was non existent. I had to keep calling to find out when my glasses would be ready. Had to wait over 3 months for my second pair. And now I have both pairs the prescription isn't even right. read more

Jeff the eyeglass technician was super nice and quick. He answered all my annoying questions with a smile and was extremely patient with me. I especially love how he wasn't condescending about how I wanted cheaper inexpensive glasses for my son. He understood and even offered a package for me because my insurance was already used up. Dr. Kohan was very knowledgeable and friendly. The key to a great shop is their staff and from the receptionist to the Opticians they have it down! I usually get my glasses at LenseCrafters, but I've also used Target, Sam's Club, America's Best, Costco, Walmart, and JCPenny's over the years. This is by far the best pair of glasses that I've ever owned. The doctor was great at explaining the medical side of my eye issues, offering interesting facts and thoughtful questions. The frame selection is rad - lots of unique, bold choices. The staff is very diligent in cleaning the samples during pandemic times. My lenses are the most accurate prescription- no feeling of something being slightly off - sight is super clear. My lenses also don't get oily and smudgy as bad as some lower quality anti-glare coatings do. The price is comparable to LenseCrafters. read more
