just now NEW It takes a lot for a client of 3 years to leave a 1 star review. But we felt like Dr.Meera Sutaria was unprofessional, and not empathetic to the situation. Her employee got our order wrong...and as a result it took a month and a half to arrive. Instead of offering excellent customer service and overnighting us a few sample pairs of contacts to hold us over....she made us drive over an hour to pick them up (and we had to beg her to do that). She blamed 'supply chain issues' but when we asked for a tracking # or a screen shot of the order she said non were available. I really hate leaving 1 star reviews but as a person that runs small businesses as well, I think customers should know up front who they are dealing with. This business does not care about you as a customer, and will not make things right should they go wrong. They will blame everyone else, and make excuses. I stopped going here cause my last pair of glasses took almost 2 months to come back from the lab and I was it would take 2 weeks. I never received a call after 2 weeks or after 4 weeks or after 6 weeks I decided to call to see status and they told me we told you 2-3 weeks I said that's besides the point it's been over 6 weeks. So I go drop off my frame so the lens can be put on then I go pick them up and I was never asked would you like to try on to make sure I can see nothing. My fiancé and I recently went to Insight Eye Optique for an eye exam, and we were thoroughly impressed with the smooth process and attention-to-detail. The booking was friendly and painless, which cannot be said about all medical bookings! The receptionist helped us determine our insurance plan and got us our preferred appointment time slot with only a week's wait time. Arrival/check-in was noticeably nice. They took us to a back room with water and massage chairs (they are past their prime but still appreciated) and we filled out paperwork on an iPad. After that, the assistant took us back one by one for the initial test and then to see Dr Sutaria. Dr. Sutaria was thorough and pointed out things other doctors hadn't before. We also had recently been to the ophthalmologist, and she noticed the same pre-glaucoma systems the ophthalmologist noticed in my fiancé's eyes, something no one else had previously found. For me, I have quite poor eye sight, and she really honed in on variables that could give me better vision. Instead of just focusing on prescription strength, she's looking into other factors, such as contacts with more oxygen flow, tweaked astigmatism curvature and other stuff I don't really understand ;-). I am awaiting trial contacts and will be interested to see the difference. All in all, a very positive experience and a doctor's office I would recommend. read more

A stellar recommendation from a former work colleague led me to Insight Eye Optique, and the trek out to Ashburn was well worth the trip! My previous process for selecting an optometrist depended solely on proximity to the office, so I was used to subpar customer service and a generally unpleasant experience when I made my annual visit to the eye doctor to update my prescription. I was already surprised Insight's space: very modern, elegant, and stylist. This was way more welcoming than the dungeon-like feel a lot of the downtown optometrists' offices I'd visited in DC. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and Dr. Sutaria takes immense care of each of her patients. Between Dr. Sutaria's knowledge, and all top of the line equipment, Insight really impressed me. It was very fortunate that I came in for a visit because Dr. Sutaria noticed that I have enlarged optic nerves, which put me at risk for glaucoma; it's shocking to me that no other optometrist ever noticed this because when Dr. Sutaria showed me pictures of my optic nerves in comparison to those of a healthy person's, the differences were glaring. Aside from the immense care given to patients, Insight can also feed the vanity of customers by offering a great selection of frames to choose from! I was in the market for some Oliver Peoples frames, and obviously came to the right place because they offered quite an expansive selection. Insight's inventory is way ahead of the curve in terms of what they offer, I really liked that they don't just offer the conventional brand names. They have a really great selection of ProDesign and Oliver Peoples frames, and I personally find these particular brands to be more unique and stylish than their counterparts. In addition to my glasses, Dr. Sutaria offered me samples of multiple contact lenses to try out. I thought this was great, and it really allowed me to consider my options before settling on a specific brand at no additional cost! What a great place! Dr. Sutaria is very professional, thorough, patient, and personable. I have astigmatism and pretty bad vision with a different RX in each eye, so finding the right contact for me is always a bit of a frustrating process. Dr. Sutaria was always kind and patient, and I could tell that she sincerely cared that everything was right for me before I left her office. The lady in the glasses department is awesome! She really cares that her clients leave happy. She's always willing to help recommend frames, and give her honest opinion on what she thinks looks best. I always really appreciate that. Plus, she told me that she just got in 40 new, more stylish frames. YAY! And the relaxation room?! I could seriously stay there forever. That massaging chair made me wonder why human beings ever gave massages in the first place. Unbelievable! Who looks forward to going to the eye doctor, right? I do, I do!! I purchased my Tom Ford eyeglasses at My Eye Doctor and accidentally sat on it. I searched online for a Optician store and found Insight Eye Optique on Ryan Road. The customer service was stellar from the start to the end of the visit. I went to the store not knowing if they could repair my bent frames but John was able to help me bend my eyeglasses to its original form. They gladly fixed it even though the frames were purchased with another company. Now that I know that Insight Eye accepts my vision insurance, I plan to switch to this store for my future vision check-ups and glasses purchases. read more

After having an eye exam at this location I left with a bad feeling that I was being upsold. I tried using my old frames to fill my new RX but was told they couldn't do that. I filled them and got a new frame anyways. That was $500 out of my pocket. I have insurance but I don't think I was charged the insurance rates but rather their office rates. Staff is nice at first but after being a patient it is clear they are being overworked and are overwhelmed. Safe to say I will not be going to this location ever. I have never had this great of an experience at an eye doctor. The Doctor was extremely knowledgeable and patient. Not only did she take her time with me, but she listened! The whole staff is very kind from the woman greeting me at the front desk, to the young lady taking my eye photos, and in the end to the woman helping me take full advantage of my benefits while assisting me in ordering my contacts. This place is wonderful! They run right on time, so no wait. The doctor was thorough and fun to talk to. And, my favorite part, after they helped me pick out some awesome frames. I had no intention of buying glasses there. But I started poking around and they had me try a few they thought would be good but I would never pick. And they were right. I love them! When they came, though, the new prescription was such an adjustment, i couldn't wear them. After some horrible experiences with Optometrists (see previous reviews) I am happy to announce I have found a GREAT one!! Dr. Sutaria is super friendly, smart, and willing to work with difficult eyes. She fixed my horrendous prescription and I can finally see again! My eyeballs are much happier : ) I also picked out some awesome glasses and sunglasses - which I get tons of compliments on...all of the credit goes to Oksana for that! The front desk staff is ALWAYS friendly and competent. The only drawback is that it is a bit expensive. It did cost me around $1000 out of pocket (on top of my insurance, which, admittedly, is not that great) for glasses, RX sunglasses, and a year's worth of contacts. They do have a great plan to save on contacts if you're in the market for those kinds of eyeballs. read more

After reading so many great reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment at Insight. I'd previously been going to the Old Town location of Voorthuis Opticians. It wasn't impressive. Anyway... The location is very easy to find and the front desk staff is friendly. They were on time, ran smoothly. There was a low-pressure up-sell to have a special photograph of your eye taken, but it wasn't a high pressure sales environment at all. Dr. Sutaria is down to earth, friendly, and efficient. She made some recommendations, but also said if something was working for you, no reason to change it. I appreciated that she took care to see whether I needed additional correction for my astigmatism. I didn't feel a ton of sales pressure here. She actually recommended cheaper contacts than the ones I'd been wearing for years and, unlike a previous optometrist, didn't try to talk me into expensive astigmatism contacts. I was in and out in less than half an hour. They do a complementary follow-up appointment to make sure everything is working out for you, which I appreciate. I was looking around for a new eye doctor in Loudoun county as my yearly eye examination is coming up soon. We stumbled upon this place in Brambleton based on Yelper's excellent reviews and we were glad we took the chance. Dr. Sutaria is one of the most kindest and sweetest eye doctor we have ever met. Like many fellow Yelper commented, she is very patient and professional throughout our visit. The whole process was seamless and it shows dr. Sutaria really cared about her patients. Even the staffs at the front desk was nice and patient. The coolest thing about this place is that they have this 'relaxation room' where patients waiting can sit down on one of the two massaging chairs while sipping on a cup of Carribou coffee and relaxing your eyeballs staring at the waterfall display on the wall in front of you. My girlfriend and i spent a good 20 minutes on these chairs while we were waiting for our eyes to be dilated - it felt good. It would be nice if they have masseuses coming out to massage your eyeballs too...but i think that's asking for too much. Overall, excellent place and great services. Where to start. This place is wonderful! From the moment I stepped foot in the door I felt instant hospitality. Front of the office staff is great. Oksana, Lorena and Farzana are so helpful and accommodating. They helped with a quick and easy check-in and I was off to see the doctor. I have been here a couple times so I was blessed to see both Dr. Sutaria and Dr. Bierweiler who are equally fanastic! They each took the time to voice their opinions on my eye health and to listen to my concerns as well. (being on the computer all day has been straining my eyes greatly) Once finished with my exam Oksana helped me pick out the perfect frame and lenses (which the doctors had recommended from my exam) and Lorena and Farzana again were such a great help with finalizing my pick. My insurance took care of a great part of the cost and I was left paying little to nothing. I picked up my glasses not too long along and I couldnt be more happy. I believe the special coating on my lenses is called Prevencia and boy oh boy has it helped me through my work day. I can actually get through a whole day without rubbing my eyes! I had great experience at Insight Eye Optique starting w the exam, throughout the glass selection, and pickup. Exam - The doctor was knowledgeable. She explained what she was doing at each step, and worked with me to make sure that all required exams were taken. Glass selection - the coordinator spent much time to help me select pair of glasses that I wanted even when that meant I tried on more than 10 pairs, and she had to go to the backroom to pick up brand new pair for my selection. Pick-up - we experienced some hiccup when my original pair was lost during shipping. However, the coordinator was able to get a replacement within days. Me and my wife took an eye routine exam. Turned out to be that we needed to change the current glasses we had, cause the prescription changed over the years. We've payed nothing, or paid $10 as copay for the services. We bought a pare each for my wife and myself. We ended up buying two more pares for my wife including sun glasses. That brings to a total of 4 pares. Two of the pares had to be fixed because they didn't fit 100%. It needed a little bit of adjustment. Insight Eye changed them for free (first change is free). I've been going to insight for three years now. The doctors and staff have always been super friendly and helpful. I arrive at or a few minutes before my scheduled appointment and have never had to wait more than a minute or two before being taken back. I usually see dr. Bierwieler and she is fabulous. She is patient and explains things very clearly. I've met the other dr as well and she is also quiet friendly. I've never felt pressured or unnecessarily unsold on anything. They always clearly explain my options and what my insurance covers upfront. They clearly care and want you to be comfortable. For instance, I recently mentioned that I wear one pair of glasses but not another because they slide down my nose a bit. My whole family has been going here for 3 or 4 years and we've always been very happy with the doctors, the office staff, and the flexibility. But I haven't been compelled to write a review until today. This morning, my step-mom broke her glasses and as a result could not see or do anything. The glasses looked bad, lens fell out and the thin wire holding it in was broken and bent. I called the office and Michelle said bring the glasses in and we will see what we can do. Well, she took them and worked on them for 10-15 minutes and, voila, they were good as new. And when we asked, how much do we owe you--no charge she said. That's why I like these local businesses.
