During my new patient visit, the front desk girls & others on the sales floors were complaining about how they were working a 10hr shift and how they were 8hrs into it. Shortly after a patient walked away an asian looking tech was heard saying "we already know that card boutta decline!" Then during my exam the tech was wiping things off as she did the exam which made me feel as if the room prior to entry was non-sterile. She was kind but I didn't appreciate how she left the door open during my exam but not for anyone else. She asked about personal/health information including eye genetics with the door open which made me uneasy. Dr. Jeremey Kei was filling in from another location as they told me the location(s) Dr was off. He was very kind, thorough in explaining examinations & recommended next steps. After our in-depth exam he gave me to a thicker hispanic tech who instead of helping me said "actually you'll be going with him". To whom I was given a passive aggressive, sarcastic older white male. He spoke in terms which aren't current to the general population. I don't work in an optometry office so I don't know anything about the language he was speaking. Then when I asked clarity question in regard to him saying "the Dr got rid of stigmatization he goes "Oh no did the Dr go digging in your eye?" Then I asked him for my prescription to be printed for my records, he acted as if he didn't want to because I didn't purchase my glasses with his practice. They all collectively kept trying to upsale me on contacts I told 3 techs, the Dr & the "sales agent". I'd think they'd communicate that amongst one another or is that a HIPPA Violation?! I haven't had good luck with eye Dr's so far their practices always try to upsale you on glasses & contacts the moment you walk in.

Note: when picking your frames at this location with culinary insurance they only allow you to choose from a few brands. At my previous optometrist I could choose any brand I want. I choose Ray Ban frames. My insurance covers $350. I still have to pay $40 co pay and $165 for the glasses to be made out of pocket. Which you have to pay upfront. They say my new glasses will be ready from 5-7 day. It took 10 days. I go to pick up my glasses and the prescription is too strong. I tell them I need my prescription adjusted. Im told to take it home for a week and get use to it. That doesn't make sense. I can't see with them on. I need them adjusted. The optometrist tech keeps pushing that I need to take them home. She says your insurance only allows one redo on your prescription. Ok perfect redo them. She says yes but they need to know why. The why is because the prescription is too strong. I asked if everyone is happy with their prescription 100% of the time. Their has to be a solution. I say if you don't want to adjust my prescription I want a refund so I can go see another optometrist that can get my glasses with the correct prescription. Conveniently they don't give refunds. Keep in mind we're talking about over $500 for a pair of glasses . Their only option is to make another appointment with the Dr. For which they only have appointments over a week out. Wait for the Dr to sign off on my new prescription and resend the glasses out. This whole process could take close to 6 weeks to get glasses. It was all crazy. Next time just order glasses online and send it in with your prescription. Problem solved. I will update after my next appointment in a week......

Filled out paperwork and was brought to the back for a couple exams before meeting with the optometrist. The optometrist came in. No small talk, right to business. When the optometrist asked why I came in, I explained I was considering changing contact brands and opting for a different length of use for contacts. That went unheard as the optometrist presented me a similar style of contact, I was using just a different brand. After the exam, I sat with the person that handles what is to be ordered. He was kind enough to give me prices for contacts and glasses using my insurance to see what would get me the most bang for my buck. This is where the optometrists suggest of contacts came into play. The price. I feel being unheard of what I wanted, I was stuck with the option given. Mainly because I enjoyed how the new contact felt compared to my old brand. However, I didn't have the option I asked about to compare. It's that moment of "well I'm here, this is what I got, I'll get this then". I was contacted when my glasses were ready for pickup. Prior to that, I inquired about my contacts. The person that answered the phone said they hadn't been ordered yet. This was a week after my exam. I didn't receive any tracking information. When I came in to pick up my glasses, I asked about the tracking number for the contacts. The woman helping me couldn't locate the tracking number for the contacts. VERY concerning. Eventually the contacts arrived. It felt a bit disorganized compared how to visually organize the establishment is when you walk in.
