I highly recommend Clark & Sons if you need a home inspection. I met Chris at the house, he went over everything with me inside and out was a wealth of knowledge and information. Very professional, thorough and gets everything done in a timely manner. Love his detailed, report with pictures. Due to Coronavirus he was prepared with, mask and gloves. The added bonus he gives you a free subscription called Home Binder. You are able to keep all of the documents pertaining to the home on this handy app. He already downloaded his home inspection report and set-up calendar reminders. Home Binder allows you to set-up maintenance reminders of things homeowners often forget about. Install new smoke detectors every 10 years and replace batteries annually. Clean out rain gutters yearly, roof inspections every three years, clean your vent hose on your dryer, change out water hoses on your washing machine, have your HVAC unit serviced, etc. You can also add pictures and other information about the home. For instances......when you paint or get new flooring you can add pictures of the paint can with numbers and brands. Or where you purchase flooring the name of the what you purchased. The make model and date you purchase appliances. Anytime you have home repairs document the name of the company, date and even the cost. When you sell the home you can pass all of the information on to the new owners. This is the best way to stay organized in my opinion. Mr. Clark and his crew are the real deal. They do a thorough inspection; time varies depending on the size of your property. Detailed in their inspections and explanations for the findings; provided great suggestions and recommendations for repairs/upgrades. The report looks professional and is produced on a timely manner. They inspected the property during a scorching summer day and at the end of the inspection, they still had a smile on their faces. So, I'm really not just saying this. You always NEED a home inspection. Do not skip this step when trying to buy a home! I had no idea where to go, and relied on the Bakersfield reddit to lead me to a reputable Inspector/company. Clark & Sons was the company that stood out in comments, so I gave them a call. Chris Clark, the owner, answered and got our inspection scheduled and done in under a week. He was so friendly and transparent. Once receiveing this inspection, he walked us through, answered any and all questions we had and there were minor issues (every house has them, you can't really get around it. Used homes are not perfect), BUT there was also a potential major issue! The roof! Now, my bf is a mister fix it, he can redo a roof no problem, but when it was suspected that we might have an issue with the structure under the roof this was a huge red flag. This was something that was visible on the outside, but we were unsure of. He didn't say it was good or bad, he just gave us all the information which gave us a greater ability to make a more informed decision. Worth the money! read more

Chris and Bryce, all I can say is this review is a long time coming. Those of you reading these reviews may notice a number of them that say how they "never take the time to write a review". Yet they did and that's because of who Chris and Bryce are. It is now almost 10 months since they inspected the home I purchased and I stay so busy it seems like I never have any time yet this has been on my mind much of the time and a big incomplete for me. It's Midnight yet I just needed to do it now. All I can say is if you have a home you want inspected... just book them and stop wasting your time. These guys are the real deal and get it done right. Our Realtor recommended Chris Clark, the home inspector. At first, after reading the couple of reviews regarding his work performance, I began to doubt in his work. To our surprise, our experience with Chris was excellent. Our future home is more than 2300 sq. ft; the entire lot is about 10,000 sq. ft in area; Chris was able to inform us quite detail information regarding the lot and the house. Professionalism was expressed through his detailed inspection report. What we appreciated of Chris was his opinions and considerations regarding future house upgrade ideas. He did inform us that pest and termite inspection was necessary due to rodent evidence; but Termite Inspection was to be performed by a different specialist. He exceded our expectations; he spent more time with us than required during the follow up of the inspection, considering he had other things to take care of. I was quite impressed to know that he was under the house, crawl space, in order to check that which cannot be seen. And on top of the roof; obviously a Home Inspector. Excellent Job! read more

Chris Clark was the inspector I used because he was highly recommended by my Realtor. He was courteous, professional, honest and very patient. He took the time to discuss each issue he saw that should be addressed and why it needed to be addressed. He didn't rush through his findings, but instead explained and answered every question and concern I had. I did my homework, so there were many questions. After the inspection, he mentioned that he would have his report to me that evening, and he delivered... signs of great integrity and character. It was a full report, so I was thoroughly pleased to have it so quickly and able to review it in a timely manner. His report was filled with photos and descriptions of each issue, and since he had already explained each item in detail it was easy to follow the report. Overall, he was able to reveal the integrity of the house, which was valuable and much needed information. This was a great experience. My husband was not available to do the walk through with me and I was a little nervous that the information would be a little over my head and I would not ask all the right questions. But Chris took that fear away the minute I met him. He took the time to walk through every aspect explaining everything in great detail and layman terms so that I understood. He offered great insight into areas that should I want, could be changed to a more modern look based on things he has seen as an inspector which was really helpful. His inspection covered EVERY aspect of the house and was quite thorough, he even caught little things like pocket doors that needed to be lubed or replaced! He is very personal, doesn't rush you or talk over your head and gave me his email and phone number should myself or my husband have questions once we see the report. Bryce was AMAZING. He just did my inspection this past weekend in a home in Bakersfield I am purchasing, and let me tell you, he takes his time and is extremely detailed when doing an inspection. Not only was he polite, friendly, and extremely knowledgable, but he took the time to answer and explain EVERYTHING I had a question about. As a first time home buyer, he even shared some useful tips to maintain my future home. Like "make sure to drain your water heater every 6 months" to get all the build up out and make it last longer. Chris did a thorough and accurate inspection of the home we were purchasing. He explained everything in great detail and pointed out even the smallest issues to make sure we were aware. I was very impressed with the whole process and his approach. Then he blew my mind... a week after we moved in we discovered a small electrical issue that would never have been found during an inspection. We contacted our realtor to initiate a home warranty claim and he reached out to Chris to ask about it and Chris asked for more detail and offered a possible fix. When that didn't work Chris met me on a Saturday to look at it himself and he was able to fix it on the spot for no charge. He took it very personally that we had an issue he didn't find and he went above and beyond his duty to help us out. Chris was so knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. He seemed to spend a lot of time explaining each detail of our home, pointing out important things to know, as well as showing us any issues that may arise in the future. Not only was he able to point these issues out he also had some excellent suggestions for the right way to fix them as well as some of the things he thought would be easy for us to do ourselves. He was able to break down each issue found into categories letting us know which ones would require more immediate repairs and also letting us know about any things he could see that may require additional work in 5+ years. I contracted with Chris to inspect a new home purchase and was very pleased with his team's ability to do the inspection within a few days of contact. He and his crew were very personable and dug deep to make sure I was aware of all the potential issues with the house I'm purchasing. During the inspection he uncovered some electrical issues and was able to instantly get the electrical contractor of the home owner to come over and fix the issues right there on the spot, which was far more than I expected.
