We have both been to Las Vegas many times, and we hadn't ever visited the Mob Museum. So we decided to visit this time. We enjoyed the experience overall and would certainly recommend it to others. When we arrived, we paid for parking and went inside to pay for the Mob Museum experience. We were prepared to walk around and read a lot of information about the mob. We were pleased to learn when we arrived that there would be a former member of the mob speaking upstairs in just a few minutes. We quickly went upstairs and found a seat. The speaker was Frank Calabrese, Jr., who worked with the FBI to bring down his crime family in Chicago. He told us his story first-hand while telling us about his book and sharing slides as he spoke. This first-hand account was a great way to kick off our visit! After the speaker, we headed up to the third floor and started looking through exhibits and worked our way floor by floor down to the first floor and eventually to the basement. On the third floor, we learned about the birth of the mob, the start of organized crime, the founding of Las Vegas, prohibition, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, Al Capone, the FBI fighting back, how several mob leaders were taken down due to smaller violations, and how organized crime spread. On the second floor, we learned about the Kefauver Hearings, the historic courtroom that became the Mob Museum in Las Vegas, the Mob eyeing Las Vegas, skimming from the casinos, Las Vegas going straight, the Mob infiltrating the police, and the Mob's greatest hits. On the first floor, we learned about how the FBI took down the Mob (or some of them), various stories about mob leaders, organized crime today (yes, the mob still exists!), use of force by the police, and the mob in popular culture. We also visited the Global Networks Touch Wall, the gift shop, and the Underground (speakeasy in the basement). While we didn't pay the extra fee to use them, there are interactive exhibit options for a Crime Lab, Firearm Training Simulator, and Distillery Tasting. The general admission cost is $34.95 per person to access exhibits without a discount. For an extra $15, you get access to exhibits and one interactive exhibit. For $5 more than that, you get access to exhibits and two interactive exhibits. There are discounts available to Nevada residents, students, law enforcement and military. You can also get tickets before 11 AM or after 5 PM to receive $7 off admission plus 20% off coupons on the internet. The Mob Museum is typically open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM. The Underground speakeasy and distillery is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 11 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to Midnight. You should give yourself 1-3 hours to experience the museum. Definitely check out the Mob Museum at some point while you're in Las Vegas! Worth a visit!

My Apocalypse Vegas Experience has started in North Las Vegas and ladies & gentleman its real. WOW,…read moreI was heading to tour Neon Museum and decided to continue my drive deep into North Las Vegas where no man or woman should drive and discovered the end of the world here! Fellow travelers the Zombie Apocalypse Is real as it get and they live on the streets of North Las Vegas. So I'm driving and the first thing I see is an actual street walking prostitute getting ready for some Friday night tricks, needless to say I didn't stop and say hi.... As my drive continued into the waist-land of human carnage laid upon the streets in cardboard boxes, plastic tents and cement beds I also noticed the wheelchairs (vehicle of choice ) that people sitting around in. You can see the countless police cruisers handling some multiple incidents, so if you wanna watch just follow the flashing blue lights and it's no K-Mart Special happening. This went on for miles while I drove. A few casinos actually existed but you'd take your own life trying to get from parking to the doors without getting clubbed over your skull and robbed. ( Safety NOTE ), so be careful while driving cause people just start walking across the street no matter how fast your driving. I almost had some road kill mounted to the hood of my car while heading out of town for some person just walking ( HELLO RED HAND LIGHT IS FOR TO STOP ) and I even had a green light to drive...I'm fairly sure if you came into contact with anyone in this area you defiantly has a 100% chance of getting either HIV, CV19 or some new immune deficiency that's not been detected. Maybe you wanna take the kids to scare them about the dangers of drugs but you may scar them for life. But if you do I expect a family photo to be posted on YELP... Now if you do journey into North Las Vegas lock your doors cause you've been warned! Aloha

When most of the team are taller than adults, you gotta wonder. Turf ended up everywhere! On the dog, on everyone's clothes and shoes. Ugh. We were near the bathrooms. We overheard that the Soccer fields were behind the area we were at, so I'd say that this is in the middle of the park. In the distance, saw a sleeping homeless person on the table. It's in the pictures I added, if you want to check it out. Got a good look at the parking lot, which, I will say, again, that it is very tight.

There is one adjacent area that is a traditional park with benches and bathroom, etc. It has a small playground for kids. Then there are fields for use with permit, including two soccer fields. They also have a BMX track. The park itself is very well maintained, maybe the cleanest one I've been to this year. They had 2 people maintaining it while I was there. The parking lot is huge with some covered parking. All and all, it's a great park for outdoor sports enthusiasts and my dog didn't mind walking around here (he just likes to check out new places, sights and smells.)

The grand foyer is large and right as you come in the main entrance. The Cirque costume display will be ending on July 17th so I needed to get down there quickly before I missed it. Upon entering, there is a person who asks if you need directions and there's a guard at the desk. There is a metal detector to go through. The display is right there. During the year, several different art displays are there. I parked across Main Street in the City Hall garage. I used one of my parking apps to book the spot last ngiht., All I had to do was scan the QR code on my phone to get in and out. Very easy! However, if you wait and take a ticket there, the woman at the desk said they would validate it. If you want to save $10 that's the way to go. Before entering the building, I went to see the new statue dedicated to the Goodmans for the many years they both served as mayor of our city. The front is very inviting. The solar panels fit in with the glass exterior, and the panels create enough energy to light the building in the evening in various colors. A pleasant first visit to City Hall.
