I have had reason to interact with the NV SOS only via mail before, this was the first time physically having to show up at their office location. For my own privacy reasons, I will not get into the details of why I needed to interact with the NV Secretary of State, but know that I was most pleased. Not simply because I had my issue solved satisfactorily, but that Susan was willing to go the extra mile a bit and able to solve my issue. She is kind, knowledgeable and also patient. Yes, upon my initial phone call, I was on hold awhile t until I reached Susan. Yes, it required me to drive 30 minutes to their location in North Las Vegas. Yes, it required I had all buy ducks very clearly in a row. And yes, it involved a bit of patience and waiting while at the City of North Las Vegas's government building lobby area (one is not welcome to simply "head on up" to the NV SOS offices on the 4th floor, check in at the information desk after security and they will assist). Patience on my part, perseverance on their part and problem solved. Thank you Susan, appreciate you. Government often does not move quickly, but sometimes it can. This effort and efficiency is not lost on me in my situation.

Even if they weren't a government office, I'd be impressed (compare this to the post office or even worse- the bank!!) Past review- In general the people here are pleasant and helpful. In. General. The lines vary- today there were 2 people at the windows when I got to the line, and no one in line. And it goes like that occasionally. But there are other times that the lines are horrible and I've been stuck for an hour+. They don't tend to open more than 2-3 windows regardless of how bad the lines are. Try to go in a month when the taxes are NOT due and the lines tend to be a lot better. Or you can use the phone system, but there are fees attached to paying that way (just depends on if you have the time/inclination to wait in line).

The main office is downtown, but this smaller office showed up on google so I went here instead. Boy am I glad I did! It was probably the fastest trip to/through a government office I've ever experienced. There was one person ahead of me, so the wait was minimal, the lady who helped me (I apologize, I have since forgotten her name) was quick and knowlegeable-- all I said was I wanted to apply for the veteran's exemption, handed her my paper and about a minute later I was on my way out the door. I am a big fan of streamlining government offices and this was easy to find, easy to get to, and QUICK.
