I have never known of a more ineffective, corrupt, and pompous entity as CCSD. The superintendent and school board are unanimously despised by students, teachers, parents and the general public, leading me to believe that something more is going on. Voters seem to have no control whatsoever over what is going on. I have no direct evidence of this, but I feel someone must be pulling the strings from higher up, as one inept superintendent and school board member follows the next for 30 years now. Statistically, this is arguably the worst school district in the country, and as a 30-year retired employee I can vouch for those numbers. I truly believe the governor should seize control and force an administrative overhaul at the entire district-office level. If you are considering moving here from out of state, you'd better have money to afford to send your kids to Bishop Gorman, Faith Lutheran or The Meadows, as this school district is not an option. It's so bad that I truly recommend you not move here at all. No kid deserves this. read more

Too many rumors about the stuff that is happening back stage. Schools are for people to educate their students in not for the few to hoard "our taxes" and claim y'all running on low funds. Only to be investigated to find out it is all a crooked game. Teachers and many of the faculty clearly state its a whose who game where teachers are not been paid just so the CCSD can show that they are almost out of reserves. Pretty iffy I would think. The recession was a good way to cut back hire of teachers so full time benefits did not need to be paid. Subs were hired and fired to accommodate your family and ppl of the circles. It is beyond me why teachers can't and don't get paid more. They teach our children , they teach the future leaders . The teachers deserve the pay always have. Ups drivers get paid what 40 something dollars an hour to deliver packages, while this is back breaking work and they deserve it as well. Why can't the teachers make good money. Superintendant Jesus F Jara held a meeting when teachers couldn't make it so he could get a $75,000 raise which gives him $317,000 a year. He then had many teachers arrested for protesting his raise that he does not deserve. Jesus F Jara puts himself before the students and teachers. I would pull my kids out of his district becaise he is not for education. He needs to be fired and his income divided between those hard working teachers. Shame on the school board. read more

CCSD has reported 108 student pedestrians injured by vehicles while going to or from school, and 2 deaths as of October 9. If you extrapolate that out (for CCSD's vocabulary challenged Principals), that simply means "extend", there will be approx. 380 injuries and 6 or 7 deaths. read more
