Absolutely phenomenal range, beats all the pricey indoor ranges, hands down. This range was a bit of a drive for me from Henderson but totally worth it. I visited the pistol and rifle range today. Fee for the lane was less than $10 per adult. They have targets that you can purchase. A quick safety video was required along with a waiver. After that you get a receipt and yellow card. SAVE THE YELLOW CARD. As long as you have it you don't need to watch the safety video for future visits. The range itself was well maintained, very clean. We were assigned two lanes right next to each other. I loved the outdoor range. Great ventilation, great lighting. The range masters were friendly and helpful. I have had bad experiences at indoor ranges with range masters and poor attitudes. This was not the case here. The range masters were there to ensure everyone was safe but they were friendly. Breaks in shooting where they call a cease fire serves as an opportunity to change out your targets. You can also move the targets to various distances. Pros: Price, ability to bring your own ammo, friendly and helpful staff, clean and well maintained facility. My new go-to place for shooting! I've been going here ever since they opened up and I have to say that the shooting park is probably the best outdoor shooting range that I have ever been to. It's a huge sprawling 2,900 acre facility with separate ranges depending on what and how you like to shoot. They have a pistol/rifle range that goes all the way out to 200yrds. There also is a state-of-the-art shotgun specific facility for skeet/trap shooting. The park is still under construction I believe and they plan to add even more shooting facilities in the future. The prices to shoot are really cheap compared to other ranges in the valley. It's $7/day to shoot pistol/rifle, and $6 per round of skeet or trap. They also have a snack bar and shop available to purchase drinks, snacks and shooting accessories such as targets, eye/ear protection and cleaning supplies. The only thing I wish they had was place to purchase ammunition or even rent guns like most of the other ranges, but that is not that big of a deal breaker. There is a Walmart about 10 minutes away were you can stock up on ammo before you go (if they have the caliber you need!) The location is pretty remote from the rest of the valley unless you live in the north, and may not be worth a trip from other parts of the valley unless you plan on a full day of shooting activities and bring lots of ammo. Thankfully I live pretty close to it otherwise I might not visit as much as I do, which is about every other Sunday. All in all a great place to have fun shooting guns. An outdoor shooting park, right here in Vegas, or is it? It's a long way out there, end of Decatur, north Clark county. We always manage to get there early just as it opens, (7am) that ensures we get a good spot without too many shooters on either side of us. It's about $7 and you must have watched a one time video on the rules of the shooting park, then you get a card that you must show each visit. You can bring your own targets are purchase them. They also have a few other miscellaneous items for sell, if you forget your ear or eye protection. The range is set up with hand guns on one side, riffles on the other, and target set ups for short or long term distance. The staff is very focused on safety and you can enjoy 15 minutes of shooting with the breaks between based on how long it takes them to clear the range. You can collect your own brass if you want, they also have tables set up that you can pick through if you want. We have enjoyed going regularly and would recommend this to anyone wanting to get off a few rounds. read more

The hubby and I have been out to the Complex in preparation for a CCW class. What a beautiful drive and view from the top of the parking lot alone is worth the trek. Check their hours on their website because sometimes they are closed for private events and times vary with the season. After you watch the safety video, you are able to head to the lanes. Pretty much every step you take, every move you make, every breath you take is monitored and that is a good thing. Safety for everyone is the main priority so please follow the directions and commands that are given while at the range. No one is trying to be cocky or bossy or rude. We are all trying to avoid getting shot. We bring our own tape, targets, ear and eye protection, guns, and ammo. No need to rent all that unless you are a tourist. Some days and times are more crowded than others. I would avoid weekends and afternoons if at all possible. The safety officers have been helpful, patient, and professional while I have been there. We hope to continue our once a month date to range to become more confident and accurate shooters. read more

Some of the range officers can be way over bearing and it takes from the experience and almost makes it less safe and more stressful.

I live this place, I like it even more now that they have opened up 1 night to late night shooting until 10pm on Thursday nights. Everyone here goes out of their way to be helpful and treat you with respect if your a first time shooter they will go out of their way to give you advice and help you out anyway they can. Even the head boss, Desiree she saw me struggling getting my targets up on the board and didn't hesitate to come over and say let me give you a hand with that. I didn't know at the time she was the head boss lady until later that evening. Which made me respect her even more for doing that. Thank Desiree, I really appreciated your help. Super cool shooting complex that allows your own ammo even if you want to rent so you can try out different guns. They are safety conscious and there are many Range Safety Officers ready to help. This range must be sponsored by Sig Sauer since there are many Sigs for rent. These are good guns, but after about 100 rounds mine started jamming. An RSO come over and oiled it for me but I would say, bring your own weapon if you can as you know the maintenance record. Other than that, the range is friendly and safe, good lighting and easy to shoot. Targets for pistols are 3yds, 5yds and 7yds. Much longer for long guns of course as the complex is large. I definitely don't mind going here especially when it's to test/sight in something I pieced together, which can be an absolute pain (but that's a story for another time). The biggest reason is that the regimentation severely decreases the chance of any kind of mishaps from both new and experienced alike. After 12 years, the rest Vegas has grown. Amazing experience here! I've shot guns before, but still needed a little refresher course. Rented a 22 and Mike was so wonderful taking the time to show me exactly what to do! He was my own personal assistant! Love the location (only been to indoor shooting ranges before) and so affordable. The place we used to go in New Hampshire cost almost four times as much!! But back to Mike...can't say enough about how funny and helpful he was. And patient! I'd go back just to see him! In fact we will definitely be back. I visited the CCSC with my husband one hot sunny Las Vegas day this past fall. He was preparing for his upcoming Mule Deer/ Antelope hunting trip and wanted to shoot some practice rounds with his rifle (he says he was checking the zero of his riffle or something like that). I joined him for a day and thought it would be fun to scope this place out (pun intended). This large outdoor shooting range is surprisingly unknown to most tourists. It shouldn't be. It's totally worth the stop and located a short 30 min. drive North of The Strip. The prices are very reasonable (see photos for rental and admission fees) and we paid $9.00 a person for our visit (we brought our own rifle and ammo). The staff was helpful, friendly, welcoming and safety conscious. The CCSC offers an extensive range of clean facilities where one may shoot handguns, bows and arrows, rifles and shotguns. They even offer RV hookups for those folks who want to stay overnight. I felt extremely safe and appreciated the ongoing supervision throughout the ranges. The range backs up to the Sheep Range Mountains with the Las Vegas city lights in the distance (great views at night). There's a lot more to Las Vegas outside our famous Strip. Hands down the best outdoor range in Nevada. Sure beats all those tourist trap gun ranges in and near the Vegas strip by far. For only $7 a person all day in the small arms range, you really can't beat that price. I like coming here with friends semi-regularly to get some fresh air and a view of the outstanding valley scenery and get away from all the hectic Vegas strip life. It really does just melt the stress away. It can get quite windy here at times so make sure to use lots of tape for your targets, and I also suggest you bring your own firearms and ammo. They do rent out guns and sell ammo though as well. They also lend out hearing protection and eye protection if you don't have your own for a small $ fee. Also don't come with sandals or anything that exposes your feet as hot brass from ejected shells will start hurting. This advice really pertains to all gun ranges actually for that matter. They have great staff here and they are all helpful and professional. Make sure if you are not familiar with this range to follow the RSO (range safety officers) directions and commands as they can and will bitch you out if you make careless judgements. Firearms are not toys and are very dangerous if the person handling them doesn't know what they are doing. Part of the reason why I don't like going to the "tourist" trap gun ranges in the strip. They treat everyone like drunk clueless children in those places, and I've literally seen drunk intoxicated tourists allowed to fire guns there. It's a total mess and a joke. So if you like the outdoors, a good view, and like guns, this is the place to go! read more

This is a great place to go and shoot. They have a section for handguns/rifles, skeet, and archery. There are a ton of lanes in each section to accomodate a lot of people and with enough room so you don't feel cramped. They have target slots from 3 feet out to 100 feet, so you are bound to find your sweet spot somewhere in that range. It is well staffed and the people on the range will help you with any questions you may have, including checking out your shooting stance. I know this because I was doing it all wrong with my new handgun and a nice gentleman working there helped me correct my stance and hand position on my gun, which resulted in me getting better and my target being destroyed by my newly discovered shooting prowess! Rambo watch out! I think it may have helped my husband shooting as well. The also offer ammo and targets, in case you forgot yours, and snacks if you get the munchies on the range. They even have pretty targets in case you aren't into boring grid ones. I tried to get my husband to get a flower target, but alas, I lost that battle. The place makes you feel safe too. The people on the range watch out for everyone and make sure everyone is behaving and are doing what they are supposed too. They are quite strict with the rules and will fuss at you if you do anything wrong, but you know it is just to keep everyone safe. The rules aren't really too bad since you are surrounded by hundreds of people who are ARMED to the teeth! And for you reloaders out there, you can collect a ton of brass for pennies on the dollar, if you are interested in that sort of thing. The park has a big table covered in brass just waiting for you to pick through it and get the caliber you want to work with. It is on the way out, so you don't even have to lug it with you to the range. Shooting is a new hobby of ours and the CCSP really makes it fun to go out and shoot stuff up. read more

One of the best places I've shot in CA and NV as a skeet shooter. One round of skeet was about $6.50 and it comes with a puller (thursday it's even cheaper at $4.50). I've always had a fear of guns but after visiting this place a couple of times I have definitely found a new hobby in trap shooting. Unfortunately I only come to Vegas once a month so coming here is definitely a treat. It is worth the 35 minute drive from the strip if anyone needs a break from the craziness of the strip. There's nothing like this in San Diego where I come from. I wish we had something like this so I could practice more. The facilities are well maintained and prices are affordable. They have lots for camping, bbq-ing, and a fairly priced canteen area. For 6 people and two shot guns with 50 rounds each, we spent about $120. The system is well organized and the employees are very helpful-- especially for a newbie, girl like me. I'm a bigger fan of shotgun shooting versus pistol/rifle. The leagues and other competitive activities they have available are great. My boyfriend joined a weekend league and enjoys it very much. I make it a point to come here when I'm in town. I have yet to experience a wait for a range here but I'm sure as word spreads this place will become a lot more popular. Note-- when I visit there is usually a steady stream of customers in line so you'll probably have to wait 5-10 minutes for service. Definitely looking forward to trying archery next time! read more

This place is in the middle of no where, which is hard to come by in Las Vegas. The shooting stalls (for the pistol range) face the beautiful mountains surrounding the valley. I brought a good friend here to teach how to shoot the handguns. We had a blast. The range is very structured so it's a change of pace for anyone who's used to indoor shooting. Nothing too crazy though. The rangers are on top of you and make sure you're being safe, without being rude. The price is right, $9 entry per person, with no time limit, which is awesome. Great Facility! They have a number of different areas.... Shotgun complex with what seems like endless trap/skeet stations... plus an area for 5-stand. This area is lighted so the nights that it is open... it is super light out.... It's actually nicer to shoot at night because you don't have the sun beating down on you broiling you to death. Shotgun course... like a golf course where you take a golf cart out ... offers something different from station to station. (I've not tried this one yet but my gf's husband has and he said it's awesome. So, will have to plan a trip to do this specifically... but I don't know if it's open at night... I don't think so.) A rifle/pistol range... this area has 2 different areas... one side is open to the public and the other is a bit further down and is for private functions. Both have covered areas so that if you go during the day you won't get too cooked. The target stands have a few different distance options so that's good if you are looking to improve your accuracy at specific distances. An archery range... I haven't tried archery yet... but I will one day. As a local, I like to go during the week when they are open at night. Less crowded and calmer. The weekends can get crowded and crazy... not my cup of tea. You can rent shotguns (12 gauge and 20 gauge) at the shotgun complex and 22 pistols at the pistol range. If you're looking for a class and/or instruction, contact them and they will let you know who or when something is available. Plus they post to their web site. Before being allowed on any of the courses, you must watch a safety video for each course that you plan to use. So... for your first visit... allow like 20 extra minutes for paperwork and the video. The service is great..... Really nice folks in there. They don't have a restaurant up there... but they do have vending machines. I suggest eating before you get there and bring a bottle of water with you. Entire facility is clean and well kept. Location... out in Utah as I call it... Take Decatur and head north... and keep heading north and then head north some more. It will eventually end at the shooting complex. read more

This very large shooting complex is located about 20 miles away from the center of town, at the far end of Decatur where it hits the hills. They have outdoor ranges for pistols, rifles, skeet shooting, and even bow and arrow. The staff are super friendly, if so there's large enough that they don't have lines, and prices are super reasonable. We went out for the afternoon for skeet shooting and it cost about $24 a person, including everything. This is a much better range than the expensive tourist oriented places in town, but they do not have any machine guns here, it's not that kind of place. There is a lunchroom at the main office, where the "Roadkill Grill" serves barbecue sandwiches, burgers, and soft drinks. This is a good place. read more

Some of us have skinny arms, some have skinny long fingers and that someone is me!!!! Kirk was one of the RSOs and he helped me with form and proper hand holding of the 9mm! So in my mind, I thought I was just gonna starting popping off, kinda like in the movies I see, but that was not the case and by the looks at my target....well I wont go into that! Anyway, this was a great outdoor activity for the hubz and I to try while in Vegas. Its kinda tricky getting there your first time around, but should you return you will be fine. They make you watch a safety video before you can outside, and although it is your classic 80s video, it was very informative and helped me understand the process in place that the facility. What a great time! If you've never been to a shooting range I suggest you give CCSC a try. Don't be afraid. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Be honest upfront and state your true skill or lack there of and your experience will be even more enjoyable. Upon entering the complex and I used that word because there are various areas based on which type of shooting you would like to try. Some may find it annoying trying to find the right location as if you're on a scavenge hunt but hang in there and you will be okay. We showed up on a Friday as we took off from work to have a date day. We were asked at the lower level area which type of shooting we wanted to try and we said pistols and rifles because they were having a skeet/clay pigeon competition going on and I didn't want to look like a goober in front of all the pros who obviously had driven in from across the entire west coast. There is also an area for people with RVs to camp out for more than one days visit (lots of retirees, etc). We were directed to the top of the mountain where the pistol and rifle areas were. We were able to rent guns and buy bullets, ear and eye protection. You have to watch an 8 minute safety video but you'll get a card stating that you know the rules of the range for future visits. We spent a little over a hundred bucks to buy and rent the gear we needed for three people as our son tagged along. I was a bit annoyed when we received our guns and went out to the range because I had no idea how to use it and was expected to figure it out during the actual shooting time as there are time constraints on when and where to access your firearm for good reason. ie. people like me who don't know what the bleep they're doing. I was the most anxious trying to get my firearm loaded in anticipation of shooting. Fortunately my hubs is retired military so he was able to help me. Mind you, you have in ear plugs and there are live rounds going off so its noisy. By the third time I loaded my clip, I was totally comfortable. Even if you don't have anyone with you familiar with the use of guns, the RSOs (safety officers) are very helpful and always near. In closing, I wish I would of asked for instruction to familiarize myself with the gun. Besides that, it was so much fun we plan to go out at least once a month. We plan to bring our daughter next time and let her shoot the Desert Eagle BB gun. You can also bring BB guns but they have to be treated like any other weapon. read more

Great shooting range with affordable prices and friendly and knowledgeable staff! My boyfriend and I took his nephew here today as a gift for his 18th birthday. Since it was our first time here, it was mandatory to watch two videos- one on gun safety and the other on the rules while on the shooting range grounds. Because his nephew never handled a shotgun before, the range safe officer (RSO) was very helpful in instructing him how to shoot, aim, and handle a gun safely. We initially tried skeet shooting but later realized that it was best to do trap so that my boyfriend's nephew felt more comfortable with the shot gun. Although it was packed on a Sunday, my boyfriend was able to talk to one of the RSO's to let us have a shooting range to ourselves so that we can take our time and not feel rushed. It was nice of him to do that for us. I definitely recommend this place. We had a great time. My boyfriend's nephew had so much fun and is already asking us when we're going back again. I would like to preface this by saying I don't know much about shooting at all. A friend who is an avid shooter came to visit, and we went up to the Clark County Shooting Complex to shoot some clays. The complex has many guns available for rent and the staff is super accommodating in letting you hold them and try them out before committing. The prices in the store were so incredibly cheap that my friend stocked up on lots of gear to take home with him. The building is clean and they have a little food stand with burgers and tacos and stuff, and there's lots of seating and air conditioning to cool off inside. It was over 100 degrees when we went, in the dead heat of summer. There was a big event going on so all the carts were checked out, so we had to haul the shotgun and ammo around the range. However, despite how miserable we were in the heat, we weren't miserable with the experience.The whole range (which, interestingly, is set up in a circle so that everyone is shooting towards the middle) is immaculate; every stop has cover and trash cans, and about every other one had water dispensers so we could refill our water bottles. In terms of value, the helpfulness of the staff, and the facility, everything was top-notch. The only slight downfall is the distance from the strip and the rest of the city (it would be a super expensive taxi ride for anyone coming from the strip), but other than that we had absolutely no complaints. read more
