I've used Clark Pest Control service for years, and for the most part I have been satisfied. I like the fact that if you notice the need for additional service they are extremely quick responding usually no later than the next day. (Often same day) It's all part of the service, you don't receive any additional charges for them to come back out. Over the years we have occasionally had a sub-par service person. (Usually doesn't last long) However generally thier service people are knowledgeable, friendly, and seem to care about the quality of service they are providing. While the service isn't exactly cheap, it makes a tremendous difference around my house, yard, and out buildings. read more

Really disappointing experience with a door-to-door rep from Clark Pest Control. The salesperson was extremely pushy about trying to get me to switch from my current pest control company, and the whole interaction felt misleading from start to finish. The rep explained the agreement in a way that made it sound much simpler and shorter-term than it actually was, and after looking into it later, the terms did not match what was originally said at the door. I also specifically asked about certain bugs/issues around my home and was told they would be covered, only to find out those treatments apparently were not included in the package I was being sold. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the rep encouraging me to remove my card from my current pest control account instead of properly canceling service, which felt incredibly unprofessional and shady. I understand sales reps are trying to make sales, but homeowners should be given accurate information about contracts, pricing, and coverage instead of feeling pressured into signing quickly. No a happy customer & have not been. It seems Luke the only time I can get them to spray the outside of my house is if I request it. Otherwise they just come park outside print up an invoice & leave it on the screen door. I got spider webs, ants ,cockroaches outside & blackwidows. Iv been waiting patiently till my unpresented 1 yr contract is up. Waste of money. The only reason we signed up was because they supposedly had a special going on. First of all, the techs that come over to the house are extremely friendly. I really don't have issues with them. I have issues with the price. I timed my tech today and he was literally here for 12 minutes. $102 per visit and they come every two months. I called the office and they do not do quarterly visits. Clark is a total money grab. After being a customer for more than 10 years my account was cancelled with no notice. I sent a payment of $100 (I guessed the amount because there was no bill) and they kept my money. No service, but they kept my $100. I had to call to see what was going on because I couldn't check online, I guess because my account was suspended. I guess they were going to keep my money. Do not hire Clark Pest Control!!! They are horrible to deal with. No matter what time it is, during their open business hours, I waited a minimum of 48 minutes to speak with someone. Then that person said I needed to speak with someone in another department and I waited on hold again. When I was finally fed up with them and I wanted to cancel my service I was told there wasn't anyone in the canceling department and someone would call me the next day. So, today I called at 7:30 am. and when they started the run around with me again I said no and I would hold until I got to speak with a supervisor. After holding again a supervisor came on and said he would cancel my service. I asked him to send me some kind of proof that I canceled the service and he said he didn't have an official document for that. I told him I don't need an official document. An email or text message would be fine. I just want something that proved I canceled my service. And, once again he said he did not have the ability to do that. I had Clark come out and do a termite inspection because we had damage to our hardwood floors that looked like termite damage. The inspector came out and did the inspection and said that the damage was old and that there was no current termite activity anywhere in the house. They went underneath the house, inspected inside and outside. Three weeks later when we had the floors repaired and they pulled up the boards there were active termites. Clark said that all of the inspectors are certified, so I am not sure how they missed active termites. Not happy at all. read more

I have used Clark for years. Great customer service and had it set up that they call before they come so we can bring cats in, pick up water bowls and open gates. The last few times they just show up. They said they called. But I don't have any missed calls or voicemails from them. I sent them away last time and he hasn't returned or called to reschedule. Third time coming and they can't seem to get rid of the ants. I left the third time for 2 hrs. A week later got another army of ants in the pantry. The technician said I needed to put the dog food up on the counter, REALLY!!! The ants weren't on the dog food this time, they were in the cereal. So how was my dog supposed to eat with the food on the counter . They refused to give me any credit. So I canceled my service and seeking for another company. read more

I started pest and rodent services last August. Before signing anything, I had made it clear that Mondays were my preferred day for service, as my wife would be home from work to give access to our backyard and the garage/attic. I was assured that Mondays were doable. Our technician comes randomly, but never on Mondays, so we only get our front yard done. Also, nobody has been out to check the traps in the garage or attic SINCE NOVEMBER. oh, but I'm still paying for the service. ‍ Also, I'm STILL waiting for a call from a manager regarding the matter. We moved to Manteca 3 1/2 years ago. Brooks Pest Control was the service we employed. I loved that Brooks text us a few days before our appointment date as a reminder. Their Customer Service was excellent, we were happy with all aspects of our Service. Approximately a year ago we were contacted by Clark's Pest Control, informing us that they had taken over Brooks and they would be our new Service. Our first appointment went fine. The next time, a Clark's Associate showed up, unannounced for the Service. We were going to be leaving in a few minutes and couldn't accept the Service time. I requested that they text us a reminder ahead of time so we could make sure we were home. The Associate explain he was filling in for someone & we were on the list of customers so he thought he would swing by. I told him that a text or email reminder was necessary to insure he would have access to our back yard & garage. Two months later, a Clark's rep showed up, unannounced & explain he was in the area, AGAIN filling in for someone & thought he would check with us since we were on the list of customers. I literally had my keys in hand and was on my way out the door. I wanted the full service but I explained I could not give him access to my garage & backyard if I am not there the entire time. I made an appointment with him for 8:00am this morning, no text, no email and he was a NO SHOW! I called Clark's and spoke with Mady, who was very pleasant and sympathetic. She took my info, she promised a response from Customer Service and was very apologetic. I did get a call back from Customer Service( I don't remember her name "Darn!" She informed me that because I had rescheduled appointments, they dropped me!!! Remember I had made an appointment, no call, no text, no email! I guess business is really, really good cause they didn't hesitate to agree our Service was over. Good news I hired Orkin, a bit more expensive but you only get what you pay for. GOODBYE CLARKS !!!! Brian is thorough every time he is here, if I find any bugs after he sprays I am free to have them come back and they never ever complain. But can I say I rarely ever have them come back. Fact of the matter is, Clark is of one of the most expensive of all pest controll places in Modesto, and their service has completely gone down hill! We are supposed to be on a call before they come so we can be ready (unlock gates to the backyard, put the dogs up, and remove pet food/water so we don't poison our dogs. One day they decided to swap our techs and didn't call. We came home to a bill and was charged since it was on autopay. We called them and got a refun because, you obviously didn't spray any where in the backyard, nor inside the house since the house was locked in both areas. They come again, no notice and my wife's literally on her way to get the kids from school, explain again, we are supposed to be called ahead of time, tell them they will have to come back another time. They don't...:we call them after no call no shows go on for awhile, and are told "you cancelled service"What? No we didn't. We told you we need a courtesy call ahead of time so we are ready like we have been set up to do since 2016. Originally I set up service, under my name, and signed the contract with my name, so i am a bit confused on how someone other than me can cancel MY contract even if they were told to do so? Which they weren't. You either have a major disconnect between your workers, or dishonesty or something but all I know is all we can do is move on, find a new company, save some money, and let others know to stay away from CLARK. I'll add one more negative review to your growing list. For anyone else, insect IQ is a pretty good company who we used in the past, and they are about $10-15 dollars less per service call just an FYI. read more

Don't waste your money! This company has gone down hill! They no longer have your service rep call to confirm service and use some automated system! Clark is the most expensive company in town but we decided to go with them anyways! After service with them for 4 years they cancelled our service because the service tech said we refused service the last visit?! Yes, I refused service because I couldn't put my dogs up as I'm leaving the house so I told him I'd call to reschedule! I called back in to reschedule and was told "sorry your service was cancelled" I couldn't believe a company would cancel service without the customer calling in to terminate service?! Very disappointed in not only the quality of service but the way they handled the call when I spoke with them! She didn't even offer or attempt to restore our service! Not much to say about this one. You have pests, they get rid of them. Now that can be taken in more than one way, huh? Anyhow they take care of things that slither, creep, crawl, bite and what not. If you have pets outside they even spray for fleas. If the pests come back inbetween times. Call them and they will come right back and spray again. read more

I can't comment on price because my landlord set it up. Let my landlord know I saw a roach in my house and the next day a guy was out to look at my house. The next morning they were here to spray. Both men who came were very nice and answered any weird questions I had. I had to leave my home with a man I don't know to spray the inside it always the most comfortable thing to do, but the gentleman who came made me feel very comfortable and confident leaving him with my home and to lock up when he left. Honestly, if my landlord hired this company then they must be good because she has a very high standard on keeping this rental taken care of. Definitely recommend. read more

We recently used Clark for our pest inspection on our new home, and our technician was Lloyd Cordova. Not only did he carry out a proper inspection but he had confirmed knowledge of construction in general. He took a look at the entire house and gave great insight to our home and it's build in correlation with pest prevention measures. We had a great experience with this company and our technician. Doing a pretty good job keeping the bugs away, but I don't understand why the branches and corporate are SO disconnected that I'm getting a 60 days PAST DUE NOTICE when my account is set up for automatic withdrawl, & it has come out every month like clock work! The branch claims that it's an ongoing problem they have with corporate, and it's frustrating for them too. Why can't it be fixed then?? Is it really that hard to not send out past due notices to customers who are paying their bill?! We're in the middle of escrow to buy a home, and we can NOT have a past due account to our name, or it will jeopardize our loan. Our credit is as good as it gets, and we don't need a "glitch" from Clark that apparently nobody knows how to fix to ruin that. We pay you every month!! Don't send me another letter! I'd give 0 stars if I could. How a business can offer one thing then completely change it is beyond me. I was sold a $300 service to get rid of a few rats in the attic. Pricy but fine, I don't want to crawl around in the attic. The initial tech then offers an additional pest service for $42.550 a month, I accept but the next day I call to cancel that and am informed I MUST pay for this additional service in order to get the trap follow up. I was dumbfounded. At no point in the initial interaction was I told this, they were presented as two completely separate services. When I asked the follow up technician that I heard rats on a different part of the attic he said they aren't able to go into the attic to move the traps. What the hell? Why even offer a service that you can't fulfill? Oh, I know why, its to remove hard earned money from people. Throw in the lackadaisical follow up visits and you have one VERY unsatisfied customer. I have told countless number of people my experience and will continue to tell anyone who asks just how poorly this entire debacle has gone. The worst part is I have no recourse since the initial tech who sold me (I mean stole from me) hasn't set foot on my property again. We started service with Clark, since we started in March we have had to have them out several times because we were still having same issues. Then while they were here we asked about a termite inspection for a re-finance we were told at that time since we were customers there would be no charge. When they came out Adam did the inspection, when I asked if he would email report to us so we could send it in for the re-finance he informed us that it would cost $95.00, and didn't even do the complete inspection a re-finance. So far, it has been a headache! Josh S. came out to the house to give the estimate - Super friendly, this guy is a GREAT salesman. I showed him our problem areas, and he explained how they would go about tackling our black ants. After agreeing to sign up for regular servicing & providing my payment information, it was then that Josh informed me the technician completing the initial service would arrive in 20-30 minutes. (Up until that point, I thought I was talking to the person who would be providing the initial service... but okay, no big deal... I was just happy that it would still be done same day.) 30 minutes later, the technician arrived at my door and said, "What's going on, what do we need to do here? Outside, inside, garage, what?" Right from the get go, that was super off-putting to me. He hadn't been briefed on the situation? I had to explain everything all over again for the 2nd time & tell him what Josh had recommended. (If you are going to have one person play the salesman role and then send somebody else to do the job, there needs to be some communication between the two. Your customer shouldn't have to be the middleman) The technician went on to disagree with what Josh had recommended, commenting that "it would be really time consuming." He also tried to talk me into scheduling the service for a different day. I also noticed that when he was outside with his spider wand, he was very lazily waving it up in the air - I seriously don't even think he was getting anything at all; it looked as though he was just going through the motions of putting it up in the air. He simply had a lazy demeanor about him from start to finish. The technician also left an invoice on my door for a higher amount than what Josh quoted me. 2 days later, we had ants swarming our kitchen cupboards, and although I understand the treatment is "slow acting" & "takes time", I couldn't help but think about how Josh had recommended we do one thing, and that's not what the technician did. I called customer service to explain why I was disappointed & that I wanted a DIFFERENT technician to come out and do what Josh recommended. I explained how I felt about the 1st technician & why, and made it very clear that I wanted someone different to come out for the follow up & also have someone different assigned to our home moving forward. The gal on the phone said she made note of it on our account and would definitely be sending someone different out the 2nd time. Low and behold, the SAME GUY shows up on my doorstep - with one heck of an attitude to boot. (My guess?: He probably saw the notes on my account that said I wanted a different technician, and he wasn't too thrilled with me about that.) My gosh, it was AWKWARD & so uncomfortable! One week later, and not seeing much improvement on the ant issue. The only tree in our front yard still swarming with ants, and they were still everywhere along the side & out back. I know it takes time, but I don't think they should be swarming this badly if the spray was effective at all. After speaking with a supervisor named John S., the invoice issue was corrected and a much more personable technician was sent out the 3rd time around. (Today) He spent a good amount of time doing the job, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it WORKS. Bottom line, Clark's services are not cheap, so it's frustrating to pay that kind of money and not recieve good customer service or see results. I do appreciate that a supervisor got involved, and they clearly made sure to send out a good technician the 3rd time around. (I believe his name was Darren- Very friendly, attentive, thorough, and professional) I will update my review based on the results we see in the coming weeks. By far the worst service I have ever received. I had family member move in with me, and when she did she brought roaches. I had heard Clark was a great company, I even checked their yelp page. They came out and sprayed around the house, and left roach putty in the corners. After a month (yes i gave it some time) I noticed no difference. So I called them out in between services and still didn't see a change. I cancelled service $275 poorer with no results. That's not even the bad part, they sent me to collections for a service I never received 1 month after I cancelled. If I could give them minus 5 stars I would, I have never been more pissed over an $83 bill (the collections amount) they never called me about nor actually serviced. read more

First of all, a little detail about my problem. I live in North Modesto, Carpenter/Briggsmore area (actually closer to Garrison park). I dont know why it is exactly, but this neighborhood is overrun with rats. That was the initial reason I called Clark Pest Control, right? Because they're exterminators, right? WRONG! Their sole purpose is to get you to sign up to one of their contracts so they can charge you 40 bucks a month for a year. The thing is, they dont really get rid of the problem. All they offered was to spray their bug spray every other month, and then they would set traps, and I would have to call every couple days or so to get them cleaned out and changed. Eventually, the traps would stop filling up, but the rats would always come back in a few months. Now, you might be thinking, "Hey, that sounds good enough for me, they're providing their service, what more could you ask for?", well, Ill tell you! What I had in mind was someone like Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) from Caddyshack. I wanted them to come and clear out the rats, and then make it so they couldnt come back (sealing up entry points, clearing out the remaining stragglers, etc.). Now, Clark would have offered this service but I would have had to hire one of their construction/home improvement teams, and that just sounds like it was going to be expensive. Needless to say, I stopped paying for the service because it wasnt really helping, and i got sent to collections because I was unaware I had a year contract. So, whats the point of this review? Well, Ill tell you right here... Ok, so Clark costs roughly 480-500 dollars for a years worth of service. It wont completely get rid of the problem, but it will keep them at bay and eventually if you make it uncomfortable enough for the rats, they WILL Stop coming around. But whos got the time for all that? I dont want the rats in my house one second longer than t hey need to be. Enter "Problem Solved Pest Control". "Problem Solved Pest Control" is a local Modesto company that does pest control, and they do it the real way. They sent out a friendly employee to do my estimate, and he informed me that for $375.00 they would come out and seal up my roof (I have gaps between the eaves that the rats use to get into my attic), and a few other access points around my house. The fee also includes a few visits before and after the repairs to trap and remove the present population of rats. Also, their service is guaranteed. So, in conclusion, if you have a pest problem, DONT GO TO CLARK. All they want is for you to sign a contract, so they can keep milking you for payments. Thats why they never really get rid of the problem, because they want to be able to come back again and again and keep getting their 40$ a month. read more

They are more expensive than other pest control companies I know of but I was eager to get someone in to spray my new home and they were the first to respond. $43 per month (with a discount) is a bit high for having the services done every other month. read more
