Came by here to get chainsaw blades sharpened but they do not have a repair shop so took my chance to walk around and see what else they had. Selection wise, sure they have what you need but where it got me was their price. I do have to say, any ACE shop I have visited tends to be so pricey compared to your big box store. Lights 10-12 ft was about $10+ compared to Home Depot which might run you $3-4. I also walked around the garden dept and soil was also a bit higher in price than anywhere else by a few bucks. I will say what may draw the customers here might be the staff. They were so friendly and saw one staff chatting up with a customer while being so helpful at the same time!! For that this truly does make it the neighborhood store!

They have always been super helpful at this store when I need something. Even going as far as finding all the little parts I needed.

We had previously visited Costco and Lowe's, but after reviewing their in-store selections, we weren't satisfied with the available options. Brian, who works in the appliance department, was very helpful. We initially considered side-by-side models; however, we quickly realized that the size would make it difficult to fit through our doorway. Brian explained that delivery contractors no longer remove refrigerator doors when the unit has an exterior ice and water dispenser due to the internal hose connections. There was one side-by-side model available in stock, but it was far too small for our needs. Brian then suggested a counter-depth option. While this wasn't my first choice--since I do prefer having an exterior ice and water dispenser--we ultimately decided it was the best fit given the limitations. The delivery contractors arrived within the scheduled time window and were both friendly and efficient. So far, we are very pleased with our new refrigerator and truly appreciate Brian's guidance throughout the process.

TL;DR - Don't trust the sales person on delivery dates. Ensure that you thoroughly check your…read moreappliances before you accept them. Know your right to to refuse appliances that do NOT work (do not let them install it, you accept a broken/non-working product and then send a tech to fix it). And, prepare to spend a LOT of time dealing with them if there are any hassles. My washer went out, and I needed a replacement urgently. I came into their showroom and spoke with one of their sales team. He strongly pushed me toward two options, an Electrolux 517 or an Electrolux 617 both for the same price. I, of course, chose the 617 (the Electrolux 617 online gets great reviews, the 517 not quite as much). I was told by the sales guy that they'd be delivered on the following Tuesday, early Wednesday at the absolute latest. I paid for it, and waited to hear from the delivery people. The next day, I was told that the delivery would be on Friday, not Tuesday (3 days later). Ugh. The clothes are piling up. So, the delivery day rolls around, and they show up to deliver the unit. When it's installed, it 100% does not work. It lights up, but doesn't take water, and the door locks and won't open. They tell me to hang out and wait for the service team to come and look at the unit. I say that's not acceptable. I call the sales person, and while I'm talking with them, the service people leave, leaving the unit behind. So, in talking with folks (sales and service are "different divisions" and seem to use that as an excuse for why things can't get done), I finally get them to understand that I'm not going to wait several days for a service tech to come out and repair a BRAND NEW unit. They agree to pick it up and work on some options for me. After several hours, I reach back out to them to see what they plan to do. Note that they told me if we get a solution today, it could be delivered tomorrow. IF not, then it will be 5 days before they can deliver it. So, obviously, it's URGENT that I get something selected. They close at 6pm. At 5pm I call, and they offer me the "lower version" of the same product ("517") for the same price as I paid for the 617. Or, they said I could get the 627 (the newer unit) for $100 more, as they didn't have any more of the 617. After a LOT of hassle, they said they could do the 627 for the same price as the 617 they sold me. BUT, they have to verify the warranty (which makes no sense to me. If it's a new unit, why do they need to verify the warranty?). The next day, they finally delivered a working dishwasher. But, there was tooo much hassle and headache. Appliances a better way? Hrm... As a last note, my next door neighbor's washer went out about 2 weeks ago as well. They purchased from this same place. Their first unit was DOA as well. So, be SUPER careful. Make sure you get a solid test wash, and that things are working.

Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. We paid $900 up front for the design document for a screened in porch and paver patio. Rhine doesn't provide design documents as part of the quote. You need to pay for it. Honestly the design document was nothing special; It was a 2D computer generated drawing, which I doubt could have taken the designer more than a day to develop. Also, we were told that we could use the design document with other contractors, but the document didn't include dimensions or measurements. Ultimately we didn't get a lot of value out of the design document, and we consider it a wasted expense. (Thank goodness we didn't pay the full rate of $1,800 for the design document!) Additionally, it took us several attempts to meet with the designer. He was a no-show for our first meeting (he had a personal emergency, which is understandable), but then it took several emails to land on a new appointment time. He was then late to the rescheduled appointment. We also requested design revisions via email, and we had to follow up several times to get an acknowledgment of our request, with additional follow up needed to actually get the revised version back. Finally, the quoted rate for our project compared to local competition was simply outrageous. The project cost range was about 1.5-3 times more expensive than quotes we got from other vendors. Additionally, other vendors provided 3D design renders at no cost as part of their quote. We asked what was the explanation for such a high quote: did this include all premium materials? We were told that the quote included standard materials, and that if we wanted to choose custom / premium materials, the price would go up from there. My sense was that the scope of the project was too small for them, so they quoted us something outrageous so we wouldn't go with them. But if that's the case, the business owner should have been up front with us that they only take on bigger projects before taking $900 for what wound up being a lackluster design document. Overall, we felt that we got little value from our quote process, compounded by lack of professionalism and lack of respect for our time with regard to our interaction with Rhine. If you own a multimillion dollar home and you have deep pockets then maybe Rhine will be more suited to your purposes. But it seems that Rhine is in a different market than smaller jobs for regular suburban homes in and around Ellicott City.

Then we bought a machine from a big box hardware store that came in the box damaged. In the defense of that store, at least the person who sold the machine had some information. Once that happened, I went and did my own research and found out that the first saleperson really didn't want to sell anything the day we walked in his store, so we figured we would try another high end appliance store to buy what we wanted in the first place, which was another Bosch dishwasher. The salesperson did not pressure us, he took the time to answer the questions we had and their price was the same as the other stores we had been to. We had them deliver and unbox it which ended with us getting a machine that was in good shape. Husband installed it and we are very happy with it.
