We initially considered side-by-side models; however, we quickly realized that the size would make it difficult to fit through our doorway. Brian explained that delivery contractors no longer remove refrigerator doors when the unit has an exterior ice and water dispenser due to the internal hose connections. There was one side-by-side model available in stock, but it was far too small for our needs. Brian then suggested a counter-depth option. While this wasn't my first choice--since I do prefer having an exterior ice and water dispenser--we ultimately decided it was the best fit given the limitations. The delivery contractors arrived within the scheduled time window and were both friendly and efficient. I knew how to get to this one as I had been to this plaza before. It was easy access and I was able to run inside. As I have said before, use the app to navigate around the store easier. Customer service it terrible. Most of the time they do not have enough staff or cash registers open. I went to returns and they only had 1 employee named Stephanie, i asked her to call for help since there was a line of customer returns and only 1 peraon stephanie open. She stated that they were in a meeting and could call anyone. I took pictures of the closed line so that i can leave a review and picture. Stephanie called customer service after i took a picture because she thought i was taking pictures of her but i was taking pictures of the empty return register. Bought expensive LED bulbs. Neither worked. Returned them, got a refund receipt. Refund not actually issued. Online agent can't help because they can only help with online purchases. Store manager can't help because I don't have the original receipt, which the customer service person did not return to me. I've been to several home depots and this location has terrible customer service sometimes. I felt like I was intruding when asking questions and they don't guide you or help you very much with specifics. Some aisles were also inexplicably closed which made it hard to navigate the store. But a lot of the employees here are rude or dismissive or look shocked when you ask them for help. The selection is also somewhat limited, but affordable. Overall it's a fine place but needs some improvement on this front. read more

No one in customer service was on the same page. In my curbside order they forgot to put an item in my trunk not knowing it was missing until I arrived home. Online communication told me to call the store for help. I called the number that they provided and was told to pick up in person. When arriving back that customer service woman told me to go and get the item myself (meaning that they never had my item there to begin with) and to bring it back to the cashier to check if it's correct. While I was waiting to get checked out the lady told me I could just leave waving me off while she was taking care of someone else. She never checked it. As I'm leaving I'm hounded by people accusing me of stealing but I was following all directions by everyone. The only kind peson was the employee helping me leave the store quickly. read more

Every few years I make the mistake of coming to this Home Depot, and during those periodic visits I'm reminded of how horrible this place is when it comes to customer service. Employees will actively avoid eye contact if you even so much as indicate you have a question, or they will flat out tell you "I don't work in this section" without offering any further assistance. I need to write myself a yearly calendar reminder of how incredibly lacking this location is in terms of a customer-focused approach. I ordered a fence and equipment to be delivered to my house on July 26th between the hours of 2pm-6pm when I knew at least one person would be home to take delivery. On delivery day, I got a call from one of my renters (who was leaving the house to go to work) at 10am saying that a delivery driver was in front of the house. They asked him who the homeowners were and if this was the correct house for the delivery. He said 'yes, but didn't know about any delivery' and then he left to go to work. The delivery drivers then dropped off the pallet of supplies in the street and left. They told the store that they were given permission to drop it off, which was a lie. They also forged the signature on the delivery paperwork. The person who told them this was the correct house is a licensed md notary and never signed any document because he was gone before they got the pallet off the truck. My husband and I both had to leave work early to come home and get the material out of the street before someone came by and took it. After moving the materials to the yard so they wouldn't be run over. We called the store to ask what happened. That's when he found out about what the delivery drivers did. We told the store that we paid extra for it to be delivered during a certain time because no one would be home. We told them that we had to leave early from work and miss the end of our shifts. They checked their information and found out that the delivery drivers indeed made a mistake by delivering it early and that they would refund us for the delivery charge. We expressed wanting composition for leaving it in the street and forcing us to miss work. They offered an additional $100 which we denied. My husband and mine's daily rate is $400 and giving us only $100 was not acceptable. They told us they would have to talk to the district manager and/or regional manager. After waiting 2 days, we called asking for an update. They told us that the manager was on vacation and would have to wait until they got back. We called the store again on the date they told us the manager would be back only to find out that the store manager switched stores and no longer worked there. We asked for the regional and/or district manager phone number which the store told us they didn't have. We asked for the corporate number, which they said they didn't have. Two weeks after the incident and many calls later, and after demanding a full refund for the shady behavior of pushing us off to the next person several times over, we were finally told that they will give us an agreeable refund. The matter is settled but I will never trust the Home Depot team or their 3rd party delivery company again. I highly suggest Home Depot have a serious talk, if not find a new delivery company before they get sued for negligence. Foraging a md license notary signature is fraud. I will be taking my future business elsewhere. read more

I have had the absolute worst customer service in the store. I came in twice today to rent a carpet cleaner. The first time I went to the pro desk and waited for someone to come back and while I was waiting another employee said that the person that was suppose to be at the pro desk was on a break a and I should just wait. Didn't try to call anyone or find out where they were at all. Didn't offer any other help. Once the pro desk attendant did come back I wasn't able to rent because forgot my DL (my fault) I ask what time they were open until and he said 10. I can't back an hour later the pro desk was closed and was told to go to customer service was told the pro desk was closed for the night and then waited 20 min for a customer service person to help 1 person before they could help me. However, I've never had an issue with buying 20+ bags of soil and/or mulch at once since it won't fit on a cart, and then drive up to load at any home depot in the area except for this place. Seems like the employees here are just incompetent or too lazy to use a radio. There's no way 3000 bags of marble chips have been sold after the few hours I checked online for its stock. After shopping here a few times, I've noticed that if you decided to interact with an employee here, you will need to be very very patient as well. read more

I can relate to DH. We too had a poor door install and HD Columbia did not lift a finger to help until we wrote HD Corporate then they fell all over themselves to help. Three trips and still wrong so we got a full installation refund and got a competent carpenter to fix it. On other occasions we've had staff tell us they were out of vertical blinds, found them at another store, and told us we would have to drive there as they wouldn't transfer them in. We have been told tile is being discontinued that years later is still available. I'd rate this as the lower 10% of the Home Depot stores I've visited internationally and the worst in the Baltimore/DC area. read more

I moved into a townhome in Eldersburg and hired Home Depot to install carpet and laminate. The prices were reasonable and they had a variety of products to choose from. Tom in the Columbia Home Depot flooring department was extremely knowledgeable and made the daunting process of deciding which carpet to choose a lot easier. There were a few hiccups during the install process but I still gave 5 stars because of how impressed I was with how the Columbia Home Depot handled the situation. The Home Depot appliance department the absolute worst. No one there to assist. Encountered three employees chatting away in their orange vests but was immediately informed person in charge was in the lunch room. No one cares to help and are quick to tell you that it's not their department. I did eventually find the 2'x2'x 5' garage refrigerator on aisle eleven on the top shelf. Asked an employee holding two flags standing next to forklift and forklift operator if they could bring down the refrigerator. I was told that if they decided to help, that they would have to shut down the aisle. After an extended wait and no refrigerator, went back to appliance department. Employee at appliance department told me not his department. Went to customer service for assistance but they ended up calling appliance department but no one answered the phone. Eventually, I gave up. Easier to buy on line. Horrible or lack of customer service will be the demise of brick and mortar stores. Better yet, go to Loews. Invariably everyone will at some point end up at a Home Depot (or Lowes, or all the other big box stores), and invariably you will experience a terribly kept retail store, where you spend way too long looking for something they don't have, is out of stock, or is just not restocked (and whatever you do, make sure you never have to use the typically filthy restroom). I can't count how many times I've experienced empty boxes on the shelves, wrong items on the shelves, or the item you're looking for is boxed up 12' up in the rafters of Depot. I consider Depot as a store which has a whole lot of things, yet never the things you're looking for. And trying to find staff that can actually help and answer questions, forget it. It's no wonder they are still in business. I will always first hit my local lumber yard or mom & pop hardware (if they still exist) before getting frustrated at (any/all) Depot's. read more

I typically am never able to get help here, even though I'm sure my forehead reads, "help me I'm lost." This time came with a co-worker to find some bits to screw frames onto drywall. We stood there staring at the products for about 15 minutes...unsure of exactly where the items we needed were. There was a worker right behind us, helping a different customer, who sort of seemed frustrated with the customer who was shooting questions left and right about drills or some sort of power tool. The worker looked over at us and asked if we were okay, my coworker then asked where the bits were for drywall, if they were in the section that we're looking at...he proceeded to say yes they are and turned back around to the other customer. Aftering searching the same panel for an additional 5 minutes we gave up and decided to look a little further down the aisle. Low and behold, there were our items. Only shows that the particular associate didn't know what we were talking about, or didn't care to provide additional help to us, or perhaps just wasn't familiar enough with product setup. I just visited this location looking for a mold testing kit. I was instructed to visit customer service. I was asked what I needed and a customer service representative, BONNIE, rudely explained that I needed to go to "Paint." I asked if there was a specific aisle number and again, she rudely exclaimed "you go to PAINT and you ask someone IN PAINT where the mold tests are." Once she realized she was being rude and I walked away, she referred to me as "sweetie" to diffuse the situation.
