Mandel's arrogant dismissal of my concerns were brushed off since his birth. He now has severe hearing loss, wears hearing aids, and is attending a school program for the deaf. I don't blame him for my son's condition, but for his arrogant dismissal and lack of care which potentially couldn't worsened my son's hearing. He mansplains during every appointment, making it uncomfortable to engage in conversation about my child's health. - [ ] For my first child, missed a diagnosis of soy and cows milk protein allergy, dismissed his acid reflux and Mandel refused to administer medicine to help reflux, and his hearing loss. - [ ] My son failed 2 hearing tests at his 3 year checkup. Mandel recommended us a specialist (not even a pediatric audiologist/ENT) Waited hours for them to complete test where they claimed he passed. "I'm sure he's fine" was the response. - [ ] A year later, brought my son to his 4 year old apt. After waiting over an hour, Mandel comes in nasty, rude, not even saying hi or acknowledging how late he was. Berates me off the bat for not knowing my son would have a vaccine that day, scolded me for my son's weight which was perfectly fine for his height/ BMI, and went on to suggest he was picking up bad eating habits from me (as I was 8 months pregnant). All he ever said about my son's speech was "I can't understand him"...never provided clarity or suggestions on our next steps. I walked out hiding tears. Never suggested it could be hearing related especially since he had a history of failed tests. Any question I had was met with condescending responses and complete arrogance. This was a pattern during every visit with him. - [ ] Immediately took my son for speech therapy where his therapist suggested a hearing test through them. Lo and behold he has severe hearing loss. Did I mention he passed his 4 year old hearing screening with Mandel? How is that possible? Then just weeks later he's failing every test with specialists and we began navigating his lifelong journey with hearing loss. Not once were we consulted or advised on anything from Chestnut Ridge. - [ ] My son had what we assumed to be either a spider bite or staph infection from a bouncy house. While seeking treatment, he questioned if we have a dirty house and that's where he picked it up...how insulting and out of pocket. What's with this guy? - [ ] My second son - his heart murmur went undetected for months, constantly dismissed me when he ran a 103-104 fever for days, and became dehydrated. Had a random office woman give him his vaccines who subsequently didn't log them then tried to administer the covid vaccine again at his next apt. That's concerning. My star is for Demi and the nurses. Demi is absolutely amazing - just wonderful at what she does and so kind and compassionate. Myself and my boys adored her. She went above and beyond to help always. Whenever we could get an appointment with her was the only time I felt listened to and received treatment. I wish i knew of Demi prior to the poor experiences with Mandel. Being disgusted with Mandel and his bedside manner, we transferred over to Tenafly pediatrics. I should've transferred years ago. They have been outstanding, kind, and so amazing with my boys. They truly care for their patients and you see it through their treatment and actions. Do better for your patients and treat them with respect. Listen to them with care and try to get to the bottom of issues instead of blowing them off. Parents are looking for guidance on their children's health but you present like that's an inconvenience for you. Don't operate under "because I said so" explanations.

I would be doing a disservice to myself and to others if I didn't share my opinion about the excellent care and experience I have received from Dr. Cindy Parnes and her entire staff. As a relatively new patient, Dr. Parnes kindly accepted me where several other doctors rejected me as a new patient. Having concerns regarding menopause and feeling too young to accept these changes, Dr. Parnes kindly and professionally addressed my concerns and came up with an effective game plan changing the course of my unhappy situation into one that continues change for the better. We are all unique and different and Dr. Parnes certainly evaluates her patients with that in mind. Her strong confidence, knowledge, and kindness leaves me feeling like I received the latest in medical trends and feeling secure that I am in good hands and the recipient of excellent care. In addition, Dr. Parnes has referred me to Dr. Nirman Tulsyan, a board-certified vascular surgeon. Along with age, menopause, teaching for 31 years, and working out with heavy weights, ugly spider veins became another concern that I didn't want to live with. Dr. Parnes was so enthusiastic to inform me that I did not have to and that insurance would most likely cover the procedure after an ultrasound was preformed. After meeting Dr. Tulsyan who traveled to the Montvale, NJ office to discuss my vein situation I eagerly signed up for the procedure continuing my quest for excellence and striving for total well being. Dr. Tulsyan's calming nature creates an excellent environment for those of us who can be a little apprehensive with the unknown. His excellent listening skills and approachable personality as well as his excellent team performed this procedure on me four times and each time I was confident knowing I was safe and well taken care of. My mother has been a patient of Dr. Lartigue for maybe about 20 years or more. She is now 68 has…read morebecome a diabetic, lost vision in one eye and can barely see out the other. She also is practically bedridden due to her needing both knee replacement and cannot walk without being in excruciating pain. I made an appoint for my mother to see her primary due to it being sometime since she has been seen and is now having alot of health issues. I have to help my mother walk with her walker and she moves very slow due to the pain. This was my first time taking her. We arrived 30 minutes early because I wanted to make sure we wouldn't be late and she also had another doctors appoinment immediately after. After sitting there for over an hour because they were running late and we were now past her appointment time. There was 1 patient in his office with him being seen and 1 patient in the waiting room whom had an appointment before ours but the receptionist said she wouldn't be long due to the patient just picking up medication. The receptionist then steps out for lunch. After some time a girl comes from the back office and tells us we have to wait longer because the dr is going to go on a zoom meeting, I explained to the lady that we had been here a long time way before our appointment and she had another appointment that we were probably already going to be running late for being that they were running late. She, with a nasty face, tells me if we can't wait we can just leave, at this point my mother is starting to get upset because of the rudeness of this girl. I asked to speak to the dr she tells me no because he's going into the meeting. I ask if he knows that she is out in the waiting room and had been for over an hour now and she stated he was aware. I am trying to explain the situation and concerns to this girl that my mother needs to be seen and it is not right to have patients sitting waiting for over an hour and then come and tell them they are going to have to wait until after a zoom meeting even they showed up on time for their appointment. She tells me with a rude tone, attitude and face that we can "Just leave". Now I get loud and start a talking loudly because I need someone to come out from the back to help because this girl wasn't trying to help. Just being nasty and rude to us for no reason, mind she is an intern at this office not even a real staff member. I would never want her a an MD, she has ABSOLUTELY NO bedside manners nor genuine care for patients & when I brought that to Dr. Lartigue's he said that some drs don't have that but they are still good doctors, I guess that was his justification for her unprofessionalism and rudeness. Due to his rude intern and I getting into a back and forth (Honestly I think he is more upset that I said "this is why I don't do Haitian doctors". He can be upset with me all he wants but to discharge my mother as a patient because you have a rude volunteer at your office is exactly why the medical system sucks now and if that girl becomes anything in the medical field good luck to her patients.
