We have been using Clarkstown Peds for 7 years . We have seen several different doctors ( because when you have an emergency you need to get whoever is on call). Dr. Rockower is our normal pediatrician. He has been extremely helpful and understanding. And all of the doctors who have seen us during emergencies have been wonderful. I have had a few phone issues in the past but none recently. When I call after hours, I have always been able to speak to a doctor if necessary. read more

I have been using Clarkstown Pediatrics since my son was born 12 years ago. I love Dr. Donovan and have not one single complaint about her whatsoever. HOWEVER, I have had a handful of semi rude interactions by phone with the receptionists in recent months. I am very polite and professional so I am sure it was not me. Today was by far the worst, September 8, 2023. The clerk's name is MARIA. She was incredibly rude and raised her voice/tone at me for asking her to set my expectations on what to expect next. When I asked the reason her tone was raised she said, "because you don't understand me." For context, I have been waiting 9 days for my child's asthma inhaler refill to be ordered and all she kept telling me is that's not her job and that it was already done! She offered no actual resolution. Blamed my insurance company etc. And I still don't have the medication. Then she abruptly transferred me to the referral dept. voicemail box stating I can just leave them a message...and no one ever returned my call. Thoroughly disgusted by how I was handled. I have never left a poor review until today. Considering leaving this practice. read more

Been going to Clarkstown Peds for 9 years with 2 kids. Always able to get an appointment and never wait more than 5 min after arriving.

Ask for Dr. Karasik. He is amazing. When my son goes to see him, the doctor speaks directly to him, I may as well be on another planet - which is how it should be. Great bedside manner. Very thorough. read more

Very poor experience with receptionist Marisol. Awful customer service she was very rude and dismissive. A poor attitude and sarcastic tone In response to questions. Spoke over me didn't allow me to finish sentences and had a very aggressive tone. Made me extremely uncomfortable. read more

Dr. Puder Did not accurately diagnose limes disease which led to a scary episode of my child not being able to walk. Required new hi and long term drug regimen to manage disease process. Had all classic symptoms such as Red circular ring... but did not dx. Even though this can happen, he is just not a very engaging person. I always left their feeling like I bothered him or that I had asked stupid questions. So I stopped asking. I did not experience this w the other docs at Clarkstown. Uncomfortable. read more

Several great docs at this practice. The nurses / aides are also excellent. Dr. Quinn is fantastic, Dr. Karasik is also great. I agree with Kelly J, we also did not have a great experience with Dr. Puder, he seemed bothered by our visit, rarely looked up from his laptop, there was no connection. I thought he was having a bad day, but it seems others have the same experience. Dr. Quinn is always great. He smiles, listens, takes the time to explain and answer questions, engages with our son, he's patient. We've also seen dr. D'Angelo and Hudson on occasion, D'Angelo is always in a great mood, likes to tease, has fun with everyone. Dr. Hudson is also very good, but more serious. We've not had a visit with the other pediatricians though. Great Pediatric office, I can't imagine going to another place. read more

We have been going to clarkstown pediatrics for past 2 years but will be switching. I wish I would have switched sooner, but I was a new parent and thought they are the biggest practice and close to us. The reason we will be leaving the practice all together: You cannot get anyone on the phone!! When I call for an appointment, I get disconnected repeatedly. When I get a call back from a doctor after hours, I cannot even hear the doctor. When I call to ask for a doctor to call back, no one call me back all day. When I ask to speak with a doctor, I get transferred to an answering machine that noone ever checks. In fact, a staff member called me back once and yelled at me not to leave messages at that machine because no one checks it. It's the number another staff member transferred me to?!‍. Once, I had an emergency situation and was calling the office with EMTs at my home who were also trying to call. The office should have been opening for the morning but the machine said they were closed still and the on call service was no longer working because the office should have been open! So- if you want to beable to contact your pediatricians office by phone like a normal person.... go elsewhere! We loved Dr Siegal! Unfortunately, he just retired (no one told us he was leaving). We had good experiences with Dr Karasik, Dr Berg, Dr. Rockower, and Dr Puder. The front desk staff has been fine, majority of nurses were good as well. Dr D'Angelo is INSANE! We were following up after my daughter was ill and then had an allergic reaction to her medication. We thought we had an appointment with Dr Puder but there was confusion and we had no appointment, so Dr D'Angelo fit us in. She kept recommending medications that my daughter was already taking, then when I asked about how much tylenol I could give her... Dr D'Angelo couldnt seem to figure it out and kept saying different amounts. But here is the insane part: in the middle of conversation in her office she says to me "is your thyroid swollen??! You're thyroid is swollen are you ok? I said I think I am ok why ?! Am i not ok?!? She then tells me oh never mind its totally fine. I am an anxious person. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. She then went on to say how her sister has thyroid cancer but that Dr D'Angelo is convinced she gave herself cancer because she kept insisting that she have tests on her thyroid. Well maybe its because her MD sister kept asking her if her thyroid was ok?!?! It was the WEIRDEST most bizarre interaction and very unprofessional. She also was gossiping to us about other doctors in the office. It was the first time we met this woman?! Also, when we first visited the office while I was pregnant, we were told they were very supportive of breastfeeding and would help if needed. When I came in 3 days after my daughter was born and struggling to breasfeed, the help I was offered was "umm just keep trying" ‍ and "we will leave you alone in the room to give it another try if you want" read more

PLEASE DO NOT SEE DR PUDER! HE was cold and I truly believe sick. He said he need ed to remove excess ear wax in my 3 years ear to determine an ear infection. The child had just seen another pediatrician a few days prior who did the same procedure. This DR. Said he needed someone to hold her down although this was not needed at the other DR at all. PUDER inserted the instrument in my child's ear and she immediately began screaming. I said what is going on , my child sat up covered in BLOOD coming from her ear. PUDER gave her a cotton ball and said"hold that". The child who was not scared of Drs is now terrified .I. Believe there is truly something wrong with him. My child now needs an ENT to determine if there is damage to her eardrum. read more
