I saw Dr. Patel on 1/13/25, she was a wealth of knowledge and help but she prescribed an eye drop for a Walgreen's Specialty Pharmacy in Nashville to deliver to my home. As of today, 1/22/25 I haven't received the drops. I called Dr. Patel's office twice to see if they could follow up with Nashville and I was told that they did their part by phoning in the prescription the rest was up to me. Unacceptable!! I let them know that I called Walgreen's Nashville and no matter what option you pick no one answers the phone and you can't leave a message. read more

I been going here about 5 years. I have read the reviews. I agree at times the wait can be long . I also understand every patient is different. I see Dr Sonkin who I say is the best. I am very thankful for this clinic being in Clarksville. I appreciate that the doctors and staff come to Clarksville to take care of our needs. I could never drive to Nashville. My mother arrived at 10:45 today and her appointment was at 11:00 the administrator checked her in but didn't pull her charts or check her in the computer, she waited a hour before anyone addressed her remaining in the waiting room and that was because they were going to lunch, she rides the Lyft and they were about to pick her up, it seems the front desk issues have been a problem for this practice for years, and the front desk continues to be a stumbling block for the practice read more

Dr. A. was great, and cataract surgery went well, so the low rating is not reflective of the staff. I'm a bit over a month in and the quality of my vision post-surgery is no better than what I had prior to the surgery. I could see so much better with my cataracts and glasses than I can now with no cataracts and $9K worth of new lenses in my eyes. My intermediate vision out to about 10 feet is ok. I can see my computer screen without glasses, so that's a plus. Today I have no cataracts (which is good), $9K lenses, and can't read the menu listing on my TV, I can't see road signs until I'm right on them, driving at night is not good as lights are flared and have halos (same as with the cataracts), driving in the rain at night is not going to happen, and my eyes are super sensitive to light. I also have one eye that constantly feels like it has something in it. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations, but the expense of the lenses was an absolute, colossal waste of money. I'll be getting new glasses soon. I would not do it again. read more

Since Dr. Fitch retired the office quality has deteriorated. I had been given an appointment for today at 10:40. I arrived at 10:35 and was told by the front desk people that my appointment was at 10:15. I explained that this was not the case and I had driven 45 minutes from my home to get there at my assigned time. They insisted that my appointment had been called to me and gave me a number which was our old land line number and is no longer in use. They have my cell phone number, but had not called that one. Since they refused to see me today I told them to destroy my file because I would not be back. Terrible rudeness from one particular front desk person was inexcusable. Dr. Fitch would have had her resignation before the end of the day, I believe! read more

Dr Fitch was WONDERFUL. A great christian man and caring doctor. However, the hours you have to wait are ridiculous, inexcusable, and inconsiderate when you have an appointment time. I don't know why so many are complaining about wait times. It should make you feel good that they take time with each patient as needed. That's because they care. I had a cataract removed by Dr. Owsaik and she was wonderful as were all of their staff. Very competent and caring people. read more

Clarksville Ophthalmology is wonderful!  Had cataract surgery done on both eyes in April and am thrilled with the results and also with Dr. Gannaway and staff.  The procedure was explained very well beforehand and all questions were answered.  I am so pleased with the outcome!  I would not hesitate to recommend this practice. The only reason I gave them one star is because I could not give them less. I spent an hour and a half in their offices and did not see the doctor. When I asked if there had been an emergency the assistant said no, Thursday is surgery scheduling day so it was usually like this. I got up, asked for my money back, which they did, and left. in all honesty, I'm grateful to have a local ophthalmologist, but if just one of these physicians sat in their waiting room to observe the inordinate amount of time their patients had to wait it might be enlightening to them. i humbly suggest the physicians and staff take a course on customer service. The average patient dors not expect a two hour wait on a scheduled appointment. I highly suspect the staff wouldn't appreciate a lengthy unexpected wait to see a physician and your clientele doesn't either. When you call in you're not told to expect a two hour wait for a routine appointment. It's eye opening, no pun intended, when clients in the lobby are polling guests on what time WAS your appointment. It's really sad....... customer service should be the pinnacle of a good business. unfortunately, this is definitely not the case at Clarksville Ophthalmology. I only hope the staff and physicians that I'm sure invested well in their careers read this review. Your clients expect better from you and deserve it. Sadly, I constructed this review in my two hour wait in the lobby for a routine check up. No wonder you see so many elderly clients at eye doctors, you spend numerous birthdays just waiting on the lobby. They called today on my appointment and my wife told them to hold while she got me - when I got to phone they had hung up. I called them back and when I did the Office Manager, Melody, got on phone and said my wife had cussed her Tech by calling her a cunt. My wife did no such thing and called her back and spoke to the Tech and she said she knew nothing about being called this - my wife then talked to the Office Manager, Melody, again and she still insisted that my wife had used this word to her Tech which she did not - This Office Manager is very unprofessional and reflects very poorly on the eye clinic - the technical staff and Dr. Ganaway are great, but the office staff needs to have better customer service skills and not accuse people of cussing them. I also believe the Office Manager is still upset because it took them a year to get last May's annual eye exam paid - I had told them last year May 2019 that MEDICARE and TRICARE for Life pay for the complete diabetic exam once a year and they still did not file it as this and due to this they did not get the May 2019 payment until May 2020 because they apparently coded the billing incorrectly and also tried to bill me for a copayment which I refused to pay as I gave them copies of the MEDICARE and TRICARE guidelines on this diabetic eye exam and they still filed it wrong and billed me. Whoever does the billing - be it the Office Manager, Melody, or someone else need to make sure they code info correctly when billing MEDICARE or they will have the same issue again and if I go through this again - I will be looking for another doctor especially after she called and told me my wife was banned from their office accusing her of called her Tech a cunt and that she was supposedly listening in to this conversation. My wife did no such thing - Again, Dr.Ganaway is a great doctor but this Melody has an attitude of arrogance and is a very un professional Manager who needs additional customer service training or get into another profession. read more

The wait for this medical office is horrific. My first experience was a 4 hour process for 15 minutes of face time with the doctor. I was a work in appointment, but that was excessive. Back for a recheck a week later with a scheduled appointment and I been waiting almost 2 hours in the waiting rooms... wonder how long until I'll be seen this time. Very poor scheduling in my opinion. You just can't waste people's time like this. read more

I also wish I could give less than 1 star. My first visit was great, in and out, but my last visit, upon my arrival, 20 minutes early, I asked if there was paperwork for me, she said let me find out for you. Now, common sense would tell you if a patient is confirmed, then to have that patients paperwork ready, I go sit down, 30 minutes later(50 minutes at this time), she calls me up for my paperwork, but in the meantime, people are coming in and she is handing out paperwork left and right. Finally, after sitting an hour and 10 minutes, I am taken back, we do the cover your eye game, my eyes get dilated and taken to another waiting room, full of people, at this time, It is going on 2 hours, at which time they had just taken an older gentleman back, who had been sitting there for 4 hours!!! It was at that time, I decided that I had already wasted enough of my time, walked out and caught the office manger on my way out and she tried to tell me that she just got back from lunch and she was "sorry", I told he no she wasn't, I'm leaving and I better not get a bill. There were people scrambling to make phone calls to get someone to their homes to get their kids off the busses, diabetics were digging for something to snack on, I'm a type 2, by the time I got home, my glucose level was 64. Now, my other rant is, if you are 15 minutes late, they give your appointment time away, and reschedule you, if you miss an appointment, they will bill you, what I want to know, is who is going to pay for the appointments that I missed while I was wasting my time waiting to see the Dr.? There should be some type of patients rights, where if we aren't seen in a timely manner, then either our visit should not be billed, or we can bill the Dr. the same amount as what his office call is. In my opinion, the professionalism, or lack thereof at Clarksville Ophthalmology is pathetic, heck, if I wanted to have that much fun, I would've stayed home and had the neighbor's cleaning lady pistol whip me, but for God's sake, if you have to go there, I feel sorry for you, I could've gotten better service at Wal mart. read more

Great experience. Friendly and attentive staff and Dr. Dr Fitch was thorough and explained all that he was doing. Staff set my appointment for surgery and a convenient time and date. Very busy, but got in and out within a very reasonable time and never felt rushed. Highly recommend. read more
