Figuring out how to enter was tricky, despite the red door and big sign pointing to come in haha. When you walk inside, you feel like you entered the kitchen so it is a little disorienting. It is a small cafeteria set up with antiquated pictures and decor. We were able to get seated quickly as it was a weekday morning. There was only one older woman managing all the tables and the phone orders so we were understanding when she didn't greet us right away, and also when she forgot to bring us several things we had asked for during our meal. We ordered the cornbread beignets to munch on while deciding what to eat. It was sweet, but not overbearingly so. I ordered the country fried steak with grits. I thought the steak was just OK, but grits were good. Maybe I should've ordered something else because I didn't see what all the raving reviews were about. Very affordable menu options and they serve everything all day so you can order whatever you fancy. Maybe I will return and try something else.

I'm just going to come out and say it that this is a very special breakfast/lunch/brunch place. I would never would have found it without Yelp. Clary's is located in a retirement building in Lake Worth. There is a hand painted sign next to an unassuming red door which is the entrance. If you weren't looking for it, you would never find it. But that would be a shame. Clary's is a throwback to the way breakfast places used to be. When you first stand in front of the red door, you wonder if you're at the right place. When you enter, you walk down a hallway and end up in a breakfast place that could easily be from the 50's. It is located in a retirement community but it is open to anyone. Obviously, many of the residents eat there regularly and they were very friendly. The place is is delightfully quaint. There are a good number of tables and booths and, if you want an even more authentic experience, sit at the counter to eat. We were immediately taken to a nice table/booth by a very friendly lady. She said it was her first day working there but it certainly didn't seem like it. She not only knew her stuff but took very good care of us. We all ordered coffee which was quickly brought to us. The coffee was excellent by the way. I told the owner this and, at the end of the meal, he actually gave me a sample package of the coffee for free to try. We were brought surprisingly large menus with a lot of intriguing options. In addition, there was a board with numerous daily specials. I ordered the smoked brisket skillet and my father and uncle ordered the pulled pork skillet. I also ordered a side of three pancakes since I'm always on a quest for good pancakes. After a not too long period of time, our skillets were brought out to us. Both my smoked brisket skillet and the pulled pork skillets were huge. Not only were they huge but they were absolutely delicious. The eggs, the pork, the brisket as well as the hash browns were all perfect. The pork and brisket were tender and savory. The eggs were just as requested (mine sunny side up and my father's and uncle's over easy). The rye bread was really fresh and had that deep rye taste you don't often find. The skillets left us all pretty stuffed but there were still pancakes to try. Each pancake was very large and was obviously hand-made. Delicious! The owner and his wife were also both there working and were very friendly. We stayed well past the closing time (as did others) and no one minded in the least. The owner spent a fair amount of time speaking with us. Also, our waitress could not have been any nicer. Oh, I'm not sure if I mentioned it but their prices are VERY reasonable too. I believe the total bill for all three of us was under $60. Country Inn in Lake Worth was my favorite breakfast place but I think Clary's just edged it out. The food, service and ambiance are a throwback to a time when people weren't in such a rush and things were made with pride. Do yourself a favor and try Clary's. Needless to say, Clary's rates an easy five-star review. In the words of a famous android, "I'll be back!"

Cornbread French toast with fried chicken (the bread topping is some kind of maple butter)

This was not my first time here for breakfast, but it was my first time in several years. I love the menu and the board listing daily specials, and it's very hard to make a choice. When you see cornbread French toast (with or without fried chicken), it's hard to consider other items. Luckily my dining companion ordered that, leaving me able to get the salmon Benedict with home fries whilst knowing I could have a bite of hers. I asked the original server (she left right after we ordered) if the salmon was thin sliced, as in Lox, which is what I hoped. She said yes. As there was one person (co-owner) only in the kitchen and our server had left, the food took a while. I didn't mind this morning, but some people may be expecting it quickly as with most diner breakfasts. He was cooking everything by himself and also serving, until another person showed up right before we left. My salmon was salmon filet -- like a dinner piece of salmon. I was bummed out, but I know it's healthy and I ate every bite of the fish. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the home fries were nicely well done as requested. My friend's French toast was delicious. I could have eaten a whole piece. She also ordered this hash brown dish that looked great. The missing star is just for my incorrect salmon information and for the slow service. There was literally two of us and two people at another table -- that's it. I'd hate to think of the chaos and wait time had it been crowded, and I've read that it certainly gets crowded at times. All in all it's really good, and I'd love to try the Monte Christo, or the Mexican street corn quiche, or the pecan sticky bun French toast. Great options!!! Just don't go if you're on a diet.

I learned about this restaurant from the Let's Eat South, Florida Facebook group. It was described as having great food in a quirky location, in this case a retirement home in Lake Worth. You park on the street and enter the restaurant down an embankment on the side of the building through a non descript red door. Once inside you have to go through the pantry and past the freezer to enter the dining room. If it sounds strange, trust me it is. The dining room is small but painted a cheerful yellow. There is a counter and one side of the room and tightly packed tables on the other. An elegant menu board lists the specials of the day. The kitchen is a tightly run operation overseen by chef Victoria Elliott. As a French toast fan I could not resist Grandma Lida's Pecan Sticky Bun French toast. A massive sweet roll dripping in cinnamon and sugar and topped with pecans was presented to me along with the side of potatoes and bacon I ordered. The French Toast is not what you would traditionally think of with thin bread slices. This large roll has more the consistency of a bread pudding. It is best for people who enjoy very sweet things. It probably has a million calories but I could only eat half anyway. The only negative thing I can say about my visit was that the tables were so closely packed together that I couldn't help but overhear a very loud conservation at the next table where a woman complained the entire time I was eating that someone she was interested in who was in Las Vegas was not returning her texts. She then went into minute detail about all of the texts she sent only to be ghosted. Girl! He's just not into you! Don't worry about her though. She has a single dad with 4 kids on the back burner in case the Vegas guy doesn't work out. LOL One other thing of note was I stepped out into the hall to use the bathroom and got a whiff of the nursing home. I haven't inhaled that scent since my grandma was alive. I don't know what it is but it smacked in the face in a wave of nostalgia. If you love quirky places with great food and great prices head on over to Clary's. The service was spot on too. Aside from a little table drama, I could not have wished for a better breakfast.

If you are looking for a place with great ambiance, don't come here. If you are looking for a place with a great view outside, don't come here. If you are looking for home cooked meals, you must try Clary's! We came here for breakfast while on vacation. The menu is massive but I finally decided on a crabcake sandwich - it was very good! The crab cake was better than a lot of places as limited filler. And it had a great side dressing (or maybe I asked for it on the side) of a mustardy sort of sauce. I'm not a fan of french toast. And I normally skip cornbread whenever I can - but I just had to try my husband's cornbread french toast and that is all I talked about for two days. Yummy!!

Unusual location, wonderful food. In fact the whole experience was excellent. This is of the many reasons l love Yelp. There is no way we would have ever found this treasure without it. We walked in 15 min before closing, were greeted warmly and when we apologized for making them stay open the chef told us as long as there are people that want to eat his food he is happy to stay there and cook it. Everything we ordered was like home cooked comfort food. My husband had the smoked brisket skillet and it was huge, perfectly cooked and wonderfully tasty. I had the quiche of the day and if I had room I would have asked for a second one. The server was really nice and the chef came to the table to ask if we had enjoyed our meal. Yes sir, we really did and we are already talking about driving 45 min back there to do it again! Five stars. Look for the red door!

We looked for a breakfast place in Lake Worth and this came up as a five star. When you walk in you're walking through somebody's kitchen it's pretty bizarre. It's part of a residential building and you just walk around the side through a red door. When you walk inside it is something out of the 1950s and it is like grandma's down home cooking kitchen. Pretty much there are regulars here for years upon years and supposedly they have been here for about 45 years. There are fun signs throughout and it is definitely a comfort food kind of place. Check it out... it's a hidden gem. My partner recommends the country fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy is the best ever according to him. They are open 8-1. You can get breakfast or lunch at any time. Super friendly.

Have been wanting to come here for the longest because of the reviews. The place did not disappoint! It is small inside and not visually appealing to get into. That being says the quality and quantity of food was worth it. I had the crab cake Benedict. It was all crab much better than the last place I had crab! So much food and very tasty. The service is a bit wonky but they are friendly and funny so it's hard to be mad at them. You could tell they had many regulars. I would return again to try some of their other plates.

Driving up to CCC, you're a bit intimidated by it's location in the corner of a senior living facility. But, once you walk through the "red door" and past the pantry into the dining area, you are greeted with an extremely comfortable space, friendly staff, and an inventive menu that is WAY not your ordinary breakfast/ brunch menu. Today we ordered blackberry and goat cheese French toast, a hangover skillet, and a bacon, tomato, and cream cheese omelette. Everything was beyond expectations; large portions, excellent prices, and most importantly, full-flavored and everything on point. Truly a hidden gem. Even the surrealness of how good this restaurant is contrasted with its location adds to its uniqueness. read more

From the service to the food this place is 5 stars. I got a cheeseburger omelette and it's what every prego one wants in one bite. It was cheesy and meaty yummy in tummy! My hubby got the cornbread French toast and chicken and omg was the French toast amazing and the chicken was not overly breaded and the dipping sauce the chicken came with was maple goodness! We can wait to come back to try more things! It is a small place so glad we go there an hour before the closed on a Thursday cause I feel like it would of been slammed if we went earlier. Breakfast all day and they close at 1:30pm! read more

Yes! Yes! Yes! This place is amazing. Some of the best food we have ever had. Get past the location and it being in an over 65 community building. There is a side red door you walk through, it brings you through the kitchen area. But listen, this will be some of the best food you ever eat! I travel extensively and this is one of those "hole-in-the-wall" places you will keep coming back to! We are planning to come again tomorrow before our flight back home. It is that good! Seriously people, all these 5 star reviews. It's cheap which is good...food was ok nothing special...service ok not great...filthy table and silverware...full of old people that smell. Cash only...I'd much rather go to Dune Deck where they have a large menu variety to choose, delicious food, lovely on the beach ambiance and don't have fake 5 star reviews..."worth the 1.5 hour drive from Miami"? Maybe I need to find recommendations for restaurants from somewhere else. Yelpers you've let me down. Had to try but won't be going back! read more

My only regret in life since living in lake worth is not eating here more often. Corn bread French toast with fried chicken is to die for. Today we also tried the redneck Benedict. Sausage, sausage gravy, biscuit, eggs poached medium--perfect. The service is always great as well. Very warm and friendly people who work here. read more

Hard to find little diner, look for the red door and enter through the kitchen. You can throw a dart against this menu and pick something great. I ate with three people and we all had a great meal. Ill recommend some sides since everything is good: Sausage gravy and biscuits ( a must ) Southern potato casserole ( not sure of the name ) Also you should try their dirty grits if that's your thing. read more

WOW!! Cannot say enough amazing things about this hidden gem, wish I could give it more stars!! When I say hidden, I mean hidden. While it's in the tallest building in Lake Worth, it's tucked away behind a red door on the west side of the building. It has such a cute atmosphere and I was blown away by how friendly everyone working here was. It was only my first time visiting and they treated me like family. The owner came over to take our order and when I told her it was my first visit, she came back with a warm slice of homemade banana bread and cinnamon butter to welcome me to the restaurant - so delicious!!! We got the biscuits and gravy, a breakfast quesadilla, the sausage patty melt with the hash brown casserole on the side. All of it was so so SO delicious. If you're looking for great coffee, amazing food and friendly people, this is the place to go!! read more

Little hard to find but after asking around we found where to go. What a hidden gem. To start out we received a complimentary serving of banana bread which was the best banana bread I've ever eaten. Then I got both the cornbread french toast and egg roll breakfast so I could try a little bit of everything. My boyfriend got the pulled pork benny. The cornbread french toast was out of this world as well as the egg roll with the most delicious sausage gravy and grits. My boyfriend real enjoyed his benny as the plate was clean after. This place is definitely a must try! read more

The best breakfast at the best price in Lake Worth without a question of a doubt! My husband will walk one mile there, eat breakfast, and one mile back it's so good - and he doesn't walk anywhere! Look for the red door next to the Shuffle Board courts to get in! read more

Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Staff were very friendly and genuine. The breakfast burrito with sausage gravy was a home run. Filled with fluffy eggs, bacon, and cheese, the burrito was then grilled for a crispy outside and topped with homemade sausage gravy. The hash brown casserole was the perfect side. My wife had the pecan sticky bun. Amazing. It was almost like a sticky bun bread pudding. Don't leave here without trying this dish! We drove right by this little cafe twice before we saw the secret red door on the side of an apartment complex. It feels like a speakeasy! We came in 15 minutes before closing and asked if we could dine-in. The staff was just as welcoming as if we were the first customers of the day. The owner even put on a fresh pot of coffee just for me. Outstanding customer service. Open for breakfast and lunch. Cash only. read more

When other reviewers described this as a hole in the wall, they weren't exaggerating. It's literally in an elderly living facility, and you enter through a red door on the side. Don't judge a book by its cover when it comes to clary's though. It's so much more than just a hole in wall cheap breakfast joint. They change their specials pretty often and the specials are where it's at. We had a party of eight and everyone loved their dish. The service was great, friendly, and warm. FYI - it is cash only so come prepared. Don't miss clary's if you're in the area! read more

We were looking for a local burger place and found Clary's on Yelp. At first we were concerned since no one commented on the burger but we decided to take a chance since many reviewers said it was a "hidden gem". HIDDEN it was!! Thankfully several reviewers also provided the tip to park on B street, to look for the red door, and that it was in Lake Worth Tower. Without that info we would not have ever found it! It's also in a residential neighbourhood so it was very hard to find. Once we found the red door and went through, we were amazed by how cute it was!! It's in the lower level of an apartment building and the chef had to tell us to walk through the kitchen to the dining area. We all ordered burgers and it was superb. They also served us banana bread as a starter for being first time visitors. My son loved the banana bread so much we bought an entire loaf. The tomato soup was devine as was the orange Julius shake. The service was excellent and they clearly have a lot of regulars since they knew everyone by name. Would definitely come back here for breakfast the next time we come down to Lake Worth. I probably shouldn't be telling you but, this place is always great. It's like a speakeasy. Except imagine instead of prohibition being alcohol it was grandma's cooking. I remember back in the day the feds would raid geriatric high rises and disconnect the range. We had to go underground to get our 'French toast' which isn't just French toast but more of a bread soufflé. The banana nut bread that is warmed up by slathering it in butter and frying it until it browns. The sausage gravy that comes on almost everything. My only gripe is that I miss it on Sundays and I've gained 5 lbs visiting. read more

Best brunch I've had in a long time! We met Vicki, the owner, who took amazing care of us! Was not hard to find at all - follow directions to the address, park on the street, and look for the sign on the door on the first floor of the residential building. (Little circular stepping stones lead you to the door!) We ordered the Redneck Benedict sausage gravy and biscuits, dirty grits, pecan sticky bun French toast, and the hash brown casserole. Everything we had was incredible! Vicki even brought us a complimentary slice of banana bread since we were first time guests! You can tell everything is made from scratch and made with heart!!! So flavorful! Great ambiance and friendliest people! Thank you Vicki, for a delicious breakfast! We will be back next time we are in town! read more

Absolutely amazingly fantastic. I looked at the Yelp reviews & decided it was a must try. Parked on B street right in front of the red door (shuffleboard players to the right - hey, it's a nursing home). Enter into the kitchen into a quaint and cozy cafe. We were immediately greeted by the staff and told to sit anywhere. Tons of menu options. It was really hard to choose what to eat (being a vegetarian I usually only have a few options). I ordered the s'mores French toast & an order fee of potato casserole. My friend had the egg breakfast with potato casserole. Most incredible breakfast! I ate way too much and I am still smiling. The friendly staff & cast of usuals made it extra special. If I lived in the area I would eat here all the time. Can't wait to go back & try the quiche. Thanks, Clary's. I ordered the Redneck Benedict that has home made biscuits and gravy. I don't know why it is so hard to find homemade biscuits and gravy in this area. Some many places have it on the menu but never homemade always out of a can. I would highly recommend. read more

Was so excited to find this little gem for breakfast this morning. Had the South Your Mouth skillet and it was very flavorful. I tried something out of my comfort zone and so glad I did. Believe the hype - down home cooking with a great staff that appreciates your business. I couldn't find the cafe in my car so I found a convenient spot and asked a person in the area if they knew where I could find the cafe. She stated she goes every day and pointed me to door on the corner of the building. I went inside and was greeted by a wonderful server who promptly poured my coffee and water. Ok. So, I'll be honest. We only stopped in to grab a bagel and cream cheese on our way to the beach. But I loved the fact that you had to enter what appeared to be a secret door in order to get into the restaurant and the man who served us was extremely pleasant. What a delicious find! We had one of the specials of the day and it was amazing! It was the OMG enchilada with pulled pork, caramelize onions and smoked Gouda cheese. The owner offered us a signature piece of banana bread that was out of this world. We had to purchase a loaf to bring home it was so delicious. It was raining a bit on the day I came, but they have silver hanging chairs with water beneath your feet, cabanas and waterfalls. It's blissfully calming. I've never experienced anything like it! The treatment waiting area had snacks, tea and water. My massage was tailored to me specifically. I added a foot and hand paraffin treatment. It was extremely relaxing. The hydrafacial was also fantastic. My skin felt so refreshed afterwards. I stayed using the amenities until they closed at 6pm that day. Overall, very mediocre meal. We showed up about 7:30 and by 8:15 The service staff was already starting to work on their closing duties. It is extremely unprofessional and annoying to have people picking up Parmesan shakers and stacking chairs while in mid meal.

It's rare to find a restaurant with 250+ reviews and 5 stars on Yelp. In fact, almost unheard of. So when I stumbled upon Clary's Corner on Yelp, I knew I had to try it. And I wasn't disappointed. First, I'll point out that it can be a little hard to actually find Clary's Corner. It's inside an apartment building and the entrance I took (I'm pretty sure it was an entrance?) was through the kitchen. You know you've made it when someone behind the counter greets you and tells you to "sit anywhere". The menu is large and diverse. I ordered meat, potatoes, and eggs. My girlfriend had the shrimp and grits. Our other diner had scrambled eggs. Everything was delicious. If I had to pick out one drawback, the food did take a little while to arrive, though this was Sunday brunch and they did appear to be quite busy. Fortunately my party was in no rush so we were happy to sit and enjoy the cozy, family-like atmosphere of the place. We visited Clary's Corner today because we were celebrating our anniversary this weekend and we wanted to end our small trip with a nice breakfast. After looking online we found this place and at the beginning we weren't sure if come in or not. I was hard to find, I have to say. It is inside this huge green building and it is a small red door. After finding it, the first thing we did was scan the menu, and that was the REAL turn on for us. We come in and every second after that was better than the other. We were receive by the most kind and helpful staff, and the owner was the actual taking care of us. Victoria was incredible as a server and person. All the food that we had felt like a dream in our mouths. The coffee was great and there is no words to describe how good the banana bread was. For sure you should give it a try to this small and hidden treasure. Because I promise you won't regret. read more

I can't say enough about the chicken and waffle, it was seriously the best I've ever had. They offered so many scratch made sauces to go with the dish your taste buds were elated. They have great coffee also. My wife tried the almond cherry french toast she very happy with her choice, I sneaked a bite it was crave inducing. We love this place! Clary's Corner Café is secretly tucked away in the SW corner of Lake Worth Towers. Great breakfasts, excellent lunches, simply a pleasant relaxed place to go for relishing (no pun intended) a home-cooked meal.
