Figuring out how to enter was tricky, despite the red door and big sign pointing to come in haha. When you walk inside, you feel like you entered the kitchen so it is a little disorienting. It is a small cafeteria set up with antiquated pictures and decor. We were able to get seated quickly as it was a weekday morning. There was only one older woman managing all the tables and the phone orders so we were understanding when she didn't greet us right away, and also when she forgot to bring us several things we had asked for during our meal. We ordered the cornbread beignets to munch on while deciding what to eat. It was sweet, but not overbearingly so. I ordered the country fried steak with grits. I thought the steak was just OK, but grits were good. Maybe I should've ordered something else because I didn't see what all the raving reviews were about. Very affordable menu options and they serve everything all day so you can order whatever you fancy. Maybe I will return and try something else.

I'm just going to come out and say it that this is a very special breakfast/lunch/brunch place. I would never would have found it without Yelp. Clary's is located in a retirement building in Lake Worth. There is a hand painted sign next to an unassuming red door which is the entrance. If you weren't looking for it, you would never find it. But that would be a shame. Clary's is a throwback to the way breakfast places used to be. When you first stand in front of the red door, you wonder if you're at the right place. When you enter, you walk down a hallway and end up in a breakfast place that could easily be from the 50's. It is located in a retirement community but it is open to anyone. Obviously, many of the residents eat there regularly and they were very friendly. The place is is delightfully quaint. There are a good number of tables and booths and, if you want an even more authentic experience, sit at the counter to eat. We were immediately taken to a nice table/booth by a very friendly lady. She said it was her first day working there but it certainly didn't seem like it. She not only knew her stuff but took very good care of us. We all ordered coffee which was quickly brought to us. The coffee was excellent by the way. I told the owner this and, at the end of the meal, he actually gave me a sample package of the coffee for free to try. We were brought surprisingly large menus with a lot of intriguing options. In addition, there was a board with numerous daily specials. I ordered the smoked brisket skillet and my father and uncle ordered the pulled pork skillet. I also ordered a side of three pancakes since I'm always on a quest for good pancakes. After a not too long period of time, our skillets were brought out to us. Both my smoked brisket skillet and the pulled pork skillets were huge. Not only were they huge but they were absolutely delicious. The eggs, the pork, the brisket as well as the hash browns were all perfect. The pork and brisket were tender and savory. The eggs were just as requested (mine sunny side up and my father's and uncle's over easy). The rye bread was really fresh and had that deep rye taste you don't often find. The skillets left us all pretty stuffed but there were still pancakes to try. Each pancake was very large and was obviously hand-made. Delicious! The owner and his wife were also both there working and were very friendly. We stayed well past the closing time (as did others) and no one minded in the least. The owner spent a fair amount of time speaking with us. Also, our waitress could not have been any nicer. Oh, I'm not sure if I mentioned it but their prices are VERY reasonable too. I believe the total bill for all three of us was under $60. Country Inn in Lake Worth was my favorite breakfast place but I think Clary's just edged it out. The food, service and ambiance are a throwback to a time when people weren't in such a rush and things were made with pride. Do yourself a favor and try Clary's. Needless to say, Clary's rates an easy five-star review. In the words of a famous android, "I'll be back!"

Cornbread French toast with fried chicken (the bread topping is some kind of maple butter)

This was not my first time here for breakfast, but it was my first time in several years. I love the menu and the board listing daily specials, and it's very hard to make a choice. When you see cornbread French toast (with or without fried chicken), it's hard to consider other items. Luckily my dining companion ordered that, leaving me able to get the salmon Benedict with home fries whilst knowing I could have a bite of hers. I asked the original server (she left right after we ordered) if the salmon was thin sliced, as in Lox, which is what I hoped. She said yes. As there was one person (co-owner) only in the kitchen and our server had left, the food took a while. I didn't mind this morning, but some people may be expecting it quickly as with most diner breakfasts. He was cooking everything by himself and also serving, until another person showed up right before we left. My salmon was salmon filet -- like a dinner piece of salmon. I was bummed out, but I know it's healthy and I ate every bite of the fish. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, and the home fries were nicely well done as requested. My friend's French toast was delicious. I could have eaten a whole piece. She also ordered this hash brown dish that looked great. The missing star is just for my incorrect salmon information and for the slow service. There was literally two of us and two people at another table -- that's it. I'd hate to think of the chaos and wait time had it been crowded, and I've read that it certainly gets crowded at times. All in all it's really good, and I'd love to try the Monte Christo, or the Mexican street corn quiche, or the pecan sticky bun French toast. Great options!!! Just don't go if you're on a diet.

I learned about this restaurant from the Let's Eat South, Florida Facebook group. It was described as having great food in a quirky location, in this case a retirement home in Lake Worth. You park on the street and enter the restaurant down an embankment on the side of the building through a non descript red door. Once inside you have to go through the pantry and past the freezer to enter the dining room. If it sounds strange, trust me it is. The dining room is small but painted a cheerful yellow. There is a counter and one side of the room and tightly packed tables on the other. An elegant menu board lists the specials of the day. The kitchen is a tightly run operation overseen by chef Victoria Elliott. As a French toast fan I could not resist Grandma Lida's Pecan Sticky Bun French toast. A massive sweet roll dripping in cinnamon and sugar and topped with pecans was presented to me along with the side of potatoes and bacon I ordered. The French Toast is not what you would traditionally think of with thin bread slices. This large roll has more the consistency of a bread pudding. It is best for people who enjoy very sweet things. It probably has a million calories but I could only eat half anyway. The only negative thing I can say about my visit was that the tables were so closely packed together that I couldn't help but overhear a very loud conservation at the next table where a woman complained the entire time I was eating that someone she was interested in who was in Las Vegas was not returning her texts. She then went into minute detail about all of the texts she sent only to be ghosted. Girl! He's just not into you! Don't worry about her though. She has a single dad with 4 kids on the back burner in case the Vegas guy doesn't work out. LOL One other thing of note was I stepped out into the hall to use the bathroom and got a whiff of the nursing home. I haven't inhaled that scent since my grandma was alive. I don't know what it is but it smacked in the face in a wave of nostalgia. If you love quirky places with great food and great prices head on over to Clary's. The service was spot on too. Aside from a little table drama, I could not have wished for a better breakfast.

If you are looking for a place with great ambiance, don't come here. If you are looking for a place with a great view outside, don't come here. If you are looking for home cooked meals, you must try Clary's! We came here for breakfast while on vacation. The menu is massive but I finally decided on a crabcake sandwich - it was very good! The crab cake was better than a lot of places as limited filler. And it had a great side dressing (or maybe I asked for it on the side) of a mustardy sort of sauce. I'm not a fan of french toast. And I normally skip cornbread whenever I can - but I just had to try my husband's cornbread french toast and that is all I talked about for two days. Yummy!!

Unusual location, wonderful food. In fact the whole experience was excellent. This is of the many reasons l love Yelp. There is no way we would have ever found this treasure without it. We walked in 15 min before closing, were greeted warmly and when we apologized for making them stay open the chef told us as long as there are people that want to eat his food he is happy to stay there and cook it. Everything we ordered was like home cooked comfort food. My husband had the smoked brisket skillet and it was huge, perfectly cooked and wonderfully tasty. I had the quiche of the day and if I had room I would have asked for a second one. The server was really nice and the chef came to the table to ask if we had enjoyed our meal. Yes sir, we really did and we are already talking about driving 45 min back there to do it again! Five stars. Look for the red door!

We looked for a breakfast place in Lake Worth and this came up as a five star. When you walk in you're walking through somebody's kitchen it's pretty bizarre. It's part of a residential building and you just walk around the side through a red door. When you walk inside it is something out of the 1950s and it is like grandma's down home cooking kitchen. Pretty much there are regulars here for years upon years and supposedly they have been here for about 45 years. There are fun signs throughout and it is definitely a comfort food kind of place. Check it out... it's a hidden gem. My partner recommends the country fried steak and eggs. The sausage gravy is the best ever according to him. They are open 8-1. You can get breakfast or lunch at any time. Super friendly.

Have been wanting to come here for the longest because of the reviews. The place did not disappoint! It is small inside and not visually appealing to get into. That being says the quality and quantity of food was worth it. I had the crab cake Benedict. It was all crab much better than the last place I had crab! So much food and very tasty. The service is a bit wonky but they are friendly and funny so it's hard to be mad at them. You could tell they had many regulars. I would return again to try some of their other plates.

This was a nice place and good food, good price. It changed hands now, so Janet doesn't own it anymore, so it is different, it is more expensive, less selection, the food is good, prices are higher, but a nice little place for the most part inside of Lake Worth Towers. It is nice to have little diners like this around town. The lady has it nicely decorated. the food is more gourmet now. It is a good place to try. We used to love it when Janet had the fish fry here during Lent. She had a great thing going when she owned it. read more

Tourists in Palm Beach, this place is excellent I highly recommend it. Very friendly staff and excellent service - we had the pulled pork skillet and the redneck Benedict. Price was great. And of course the resort pricing is outlandish Man we went back for day 2. We had the crab cake Benedict and the redneck again and the hash brown casserole was outstanding. Kudos to Jennifer and Patti and Mike 10 stars if possible read more

What an incredibly joyful experience, from a enthusiastic warm welcome, to a great meal (chicken fried steak), I felt at home. "Hey Gary, please join us in our morning team coffee shot!" I did. Sweet. "Would you like to try a bite of this new sweet ham, it's amazing!" Yes, thanks - it was amazing. And on and on with kindness, introductions to the locals, great food ... sigh. On my continuing mission to seek out the best 'special' breakfast places in SoFlo, I have found yet another gem. My mission thus far is sourced solely by Yelp. I have yet to be let down. This is #5 in our places we visited. They just keep getting better. Clary's Corner Cafe is EVERYTHING you want in a small diner. It's cozy, you kind of have to be in the know, everyone is sooooo friendly and the food is excellent. We had the Shrimp and Dirty Grits, the hash casserole with a sampling of banana bread and a biscuit with the sausage gravy. I haven't had shrimp and grits that good since New Orleans. The biscuit gravy was outstanding and the banana bread was a huge hit at the table. In addition to the awesome food and friendly folks, this place has something that I have yet to find elsewhere in Florida. It's cozy out of the way location. No offense, but strip malls don't scream local diner to me. I get it, that is SoFlo and that is cool. But this is a welcome treat. I liked it so much yesterday, I am writing this review as I head out the door to take my wife and in-laws back this morning so they can experience it. Definitely make a trip, you will not be disappointed. read more

This hidden, but not too difficult to find, corner is definitely worth finding. The restaurant is located on the ground floor of Lake Worth towers; a small place run by a genuinely sweet lady who has a love for the food she puts on your plate. A real hidden (no lie) gem in Lake Worth, just look for the red door on the west side of the building. When you walk in through the kitchen and are greater with smiles from the wonderful staff you know it's the right place. A very cute, small place with homemade food, plus spotless bathrooms (always a plus in my book). We tried biscuits and gravy with a touch of spicy and really delicious. I got a simple grilled cheese with strips of bacon (better than someone else's grilled cheese bacon bits in the next town south). We also tried the homemade pancakes, plain and sweet potato. Needless to say I will be going back Saturday for those!!! The staff and the owner were so sweet and it was very clean. Love it!! read more

CLARY'S IS INSIDE THE LAKE WORTH TOWERS, off to the side on B Street next to the shuffleboard courts. The door is poorly marked but there is a sign if you're looking for it. And you walk straight in when you get in the door - you'll be in the kitchen. "Getting there" is the only reason it loses a star. Otherwise, the food, service, and atmosphere are all top notch *. Would definitely recommend, would definitely go again... just look a little less silly circling the 11-story retirement community three times before calling for better directions. Thank you! Thank you Clary's Corner Cafe for the friendly service. Thank you for the fresh ingredients. Thank you for keeping the neighborhood happy with your bright smiles & tasty food. My wife raved about this place and I finally made it in on Saturday around 11am for breakfast. I was surprised to see the crowd build as we ate. Unconventional to enter through the kitchen but that ads to the charm of this place. The pastrami hash was perfectly salty & savory. Topped with Swiss cheese and fried egg. Side of has brown casserole beats Cracker Barrel hands down. And I can't wait to go back for the biscuits and gravy. This hidden gem is a truly amazing find in the heart of Lake Worth... Just look for the Red Door on B Street. Don't be afraid to walk in. You won't be disappointed. Although they are not open on Sunday's & Monday's so plan your breakfast adventure accordingly. read more

Come in, sit down, and enjoy some delicious, home cooked delight. We came for breakfast and everything was excellent, from the fluffy pancakes to the perfect veggie omelette, to the smiles all-around. This warm, eclectic cafe makes you feel like you are at home in your Mom's kitchen with your favorite Aunt Clary who can seriously cook! Support these sweet ladies who support the elderly with such care and respect. It has its own entrance located around the left corner of the ALF building. (Hence, the name. Lol) Don't be thrown off by the location...it's worth seeking and finding. We will definitely be back! read more

Like everyone else We decided to try this place because of the reviews. And I love finding little hole in the wall restaurants. We went on Saturday and it wasn't overly crowded. 45 minutes after ordering our waitress (the owner) came over and asked what we ordered because she lost the order. When she opened her book our order was on top. She apologized and said she would rush the order and would adjust the bill. No one rushed the order, in fact she spent more time chatting with friends. 15-20 minutes later our food arrived. Food was cold, gravy was canned, biscuits doughy and raw. About seven dollars was deducted from the bill. Not even close to ever going back again. read more

Found this little gem on Yelp yesterday as we were driving north! What a pleasant surprise to find it tucked away in a retirement community building. They were slammed and once we got our good we understood why! They've proven their five star status with fresh and innovative dishes. I had the Cuban quesadilla which I highly recommend. My hubby tried the crab cake sandwich-yum! And the banana bread to go was a smart choice. We will definitely be back!! read more

This place warmed my heart. Don't come here if you are looking for a fancy atmosphere. However, if you want amazing food made with love and a very homey feel then this is the place for you. The staff were amazing and the food was out of this world. So surprised by the menu and the quality of the food. The brisket is awesome. Good job to everyone who makes this place happen. Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place because it is not your typical restaurant. It is not really hidden but who would figure a senior retirement apartment building would be home to a wonderful restaurant. There are not many tables and you must walk through their kitchen to get into the restaurant if you enter through the "Red" outside door. The people inside ranged from residents to people who live around the city, but all came for the same reason....THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE GREAT! There is a blackboard with daily specials and once they are gone, they get erased so come early for the Shrimp and extra dirty grits. They have a pretty big menu with lots of wonderful choices. You can get everything from a single scrambled egg to biscuits with fresh sausage gravy and grits with meat and onions and cheese in a small crock. They had just warmed up some banana bread on the griddle and gave our table a complimentary slice to sample. It was very good as well as all of the rest of the food. I really love this place and it was hard to leave because of how charming it is. read more

I want to tell you about this place, but I also don't. It's a tiny little dive in an old condo building (Lake Worth Towers). It's a little hard to find, but look for the red door on B street. We had the Berry Berry French Toast, (which is really more like a bread pudding), crab cake Benedict, and the western omelet. Everything was really good. Definitely opt for the hash brown casserole. Don't worry, yes it's inside the retirement home condos. I've added a photo of the door. Very good food! We arrived around 11:30am and decided that the breakfasts looked so good, we ordered them. Some of the specials were out so we'll have to come back for sure. CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM. Can't wait to go back! read more

Whoo! Second time at Clary's. First was great! We walked in 5 minutes before they closed and they were extremely accommodating and nice! And the food for lunch was awesome ! This time we came for a late breakfast! Corn bread French toast with a creamy maple sauce. And A got a smoked brisket skillet. Delicious. My family and I are in the area and decided to stop here for breakfast . Honestly , one of the best places we've had the pleasure to eat at . The workers and owner are just dolls . Omgeeee!!!! I am ashamed to say I've lived here almost 16 years,& have never been here before!!! I'm so glad we found it Saturday morning!!! From the moment we entered the dining area, it felt cozy! The staff were so nice!! Paula & Victoria, I believe. I told them it was our 1st time,& Paula recommended the dirty shrimp & grits for me. My fiancé got the chicken fried steak breakfast,& we split the sticky bun French toast! It's a sweet/salty bbq'd type of pork with egg and potatoes. Definitely never had anything like it before. I also had to try the French toast because I immediately was enthralled by the smell of it when I walked into the cafe. The banana bread was tooooo good!! The food was flavorful, authentic, and really delicious. The atmosphere is calm, breezy, and enjoyable with both covered and uncovered outdoor seating at beautiful tables. That said... the bathroom needs immediate attention. It was rough, definitely had me a little worried, and I said a very serious prayer over my food before eating. Thankfully the food was GREAT and I didn't get sick, which is why I'm still giving a good review. But whoever is managing the place, please clean up the restroom situation. It makes a big difference.

We've eaten here several times in the past. It was generally a pretty good meal. The last time was…read moreextremely disappointing. Our eggplant appetizer was just OK nothing special. The soups were regular, standard Italian restaurant faire and the salad was tiny and really disappointing. The snapper franchise was cooked properly, but the sauce was a watery broth. Sausage and peppers can be a really wonderful dish or a giant sloppy mess. On this night, it was a giant sloppy mess. Really disappointing. Lots of sausage, that must be from the pizza station. Really lacking in peppers, onions, or mushrooms and a very lackluster sauce. But there certainly was copious amounts of sauce. The steamed vegetables that came with a fish dish were well prepared and still crunchy. The cheesecake for dessert was standard and regular stuff, nothing exceptional. Definitely not homemade. Overall, very mediocre meal. We showed up about 7:30 and by 8:15 The service staff was already starting to work on their closing duties. It is extremely unprofessional and annoying to have people picking up Parmesan shakers and stacking chairs while in mid meal.

It's rare to find a restaurant with 250+ reviews and 5 stars on Yelp. In fact, almost unheard of. So when I stumbled upon Clary's Corner on Yelp, I knew I had to try it. And I wasn't disappointed. First, I'll point out that it can be a little hard to actually find Clary's Corner. It's inside an apartment building and the entrance I took (I'm pretty sure it was an entrance?) was through the kitchen. You know you've made it when someone behind the counter greets you and tells you to "sit anywhere". The menu is large and diverse. I ordered meat, potatoes, and eggs. My girlfriend had the shrimp and grits. Our other diner had scrambled eggs. Everything was delicious. If I had to pick out one drawback, the food did take a little while to arrive, though this was Sunday brunch and they did appear to be quite busy. Fortunately my party was in no rush so we were happy to sit and enjoy the cozy, family-like atmosphere of the place. This meal turned out to be the apogee of my day, and I will return again soon! read more

We visited Clary's Corner today because we were celebrating our anniversary this weekend and we wanted to end our small trip with a nice breakfast. After looking online we found this place and at the beginning we weren't sure if come in or not. I was hard to find, I have to say. It is inside this huge green building and it is a small red door. After finding it, the first thing we did was scan the menu, and that was the REAL turn on for us. We come in and every second after that was better than the other. We were receive by the most kind and helpful staff, and the owner was the actual taking care of us. Victoria was incredible as a server and person. All the food that we had felt like a dream in our mouths. The coffee was great and there is no words to describe how good the banana bread was. For sure you should give it a try to this small and hidden treasure. Because I promise you won't regret. read more

I can't say enough about the chicken and waffle, it was seriously the best I've ever had. They offered so many scratch made sauces to go with the dish your taste buds were elated. They have great coffee also. My wife tried the almond cherry french toast she very happy with her choice, I sneaked a bite it was crave inducing. We love this place! Clary's Corner Café is secretly tucked away in the SW corner of Lake Worth Towers. Great breakfasts, excellent lunches, simply a pleasant relaxed place to go for relishing (no pun intended) a home-cooked meal. Vicky has a terrific small staff who are guaranteed to make your visits a treat. Opens 8am Monday - Saturday. Check it out the next time you're in Lake Worth! read more
