    Chicken Tikka Masala
    Nicholas L.

This is a hidden gem in West Palm. My brother and I went for lunch and both got the chicken tikka masala with rice and a side of Naan. LET ME TELL YOU, best one thus far I've tried and I've tried quite a few. This is your typical mom and pops shop that will cook as if they're cooking for their family. Their hospitality is top notch. You can taste the love in the food with a little kick to it too. Def recommend if you're in town looking for authentic middle eastern food. Right before we left, the cook was chopping up a sub that smelled amazing, if it wasn't for being so full, probably would've ordered a sub too.

Owners are very friendly and don't mind making your order how you want it. Takes some time to get your food depending on what you ordered and how many people came before you but that tells you that they make their food fresh and made to order. Amazing halal food, good variety of options too with Hot Subs, Cold Subs, Wings, and some Desi food. Seating is limited during peak lunch and dinner hours. It gets very warm quick in the restaurant with the close proximity of the kitchen and grill and the seating.

I wish my experience would have been as good as all others say theirs was. First of all, i had seen this place on a day it was closed. I tried calling on a Wednesday(a normal working day for them) to place an order for pick up, and no one answered the phone. Regardless, I still went because I was curious, and in the neighborhood. Low and behold the place was open. When I walked in I was greeted by an acrid smell. so, that in itself should have been an indication. In spite of this, I stayed. there was only one gentleman working, and it was 11 am. The restaurant was kind of full (one person or two in almost all the tables) and the phone was ringing off the hook. The one guy was obviously overwhelmed and couldn't answer the phone. so, it took awhile for him to get to me, while preparing sandwiches, (subway restaurant assembly style) while still managing to cook stuff in a range behind him, and gathering things from the "back". so what do you do when you have time? you start observing. I saw thrown empty siracha bottles thrown askew, dirty stained lights above filled with what appeared to be bugs, and water stained ceiling tiles that just don't make you feel like eating there. Oily and dirty surfaces where they're preparing your food. Unfortunately the guy had already started my food and I felt bad cancelling. But before he could start my food, I asked for a tuna salad, he went to the back came out and said they didn't have any tuna. okay, so another salad then. i looked at the lettuce and it looked brown and wilted. i asked him, do you have any other lettuce, and he again went to the back and brought out a ziplock bag with "new" salad from a ziplock that looked like it had been used 100 times. so..... i left because it was taking so long to grill my chicken, and the chicken tikka for a sub i was taking for my husband, i went around the corner to another store and actually considered not going back. however, that would have been rude, so i went back. when i went back, the gentleman was now joined by a woman, and i think her husband. by my assumption, the lone guy was the son to this older couple. thank goodness they came in to alleviate his burden. phew. i got my salad, and all they had was lettuce, onion, tomato (2 slices chopped in front of me) 4 slices of cucumber (again chopped in front of me) and a couple of jalapenos at my request. the only other possible additions (which i am not a fan of) black olives and banana peppers. there were no other veggies to add. so it made for a very sad salad, that quite honestly was lackluster. on the other hand, my husband loved his chicken tikka sandwich. they never asked me what to put inside of it, they just did, but i thought you would get an option as the assembly line is conducive to stating what you want and what you don't want.. regardless, they knew more on what to put on it because it was a success in my husbands eyes. I asked him would you eat from there again, and he said yes. then he asked me, and i said no. he then asked why, and i just told him about the salad, and not all others. Had l mentioned the "look" of the restaurant, he would have never eaten it. Now I feel guilty, in that sometimes he says, are you trying to poison me? maybe subconsciously I am???!!

I wanted something different. I literally was in the rain just looking at my bookmarks trying to think of a good afternoon lunch. I pulled into this place just to be out of traffic. I checked the reviews and that was enough to get me inside. No surprise it was kinda dead from the weather. But the smells were alive and well. Seriously one of the best burgers I'd had since... forever. You gotta come in and try some of their great food for yourself. Can't sell it any better than just come in and try it. Then you try to put the words of your meal down here.

Super friendly, checked on us just the right amount and made the whole dinner feel easy. I had the surf and turf which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My dining partner ordered the salmon and loved it just as much. I had a few Palomas and honestly lost count at some point which probably says everything about how good they were. I noted that the pork belly in my kimchi fried rice was very hard and chewy (overcooked) which should not be the case. Otherwise I could taste the kimchi which was good. Around the table, there were fried chicken wings, a big juicy burger, French fries (very tasty) and one of my cousins have the special skewered chicken from the Brazilian menu. She reported the chicken to be very bland despite its colorful appearance. All in all, everyone said, their food was "OK." The specialty drinks, Caipirinha (X 2) were good. Service was wonderful --our server Susan checked on us often. She was very attentive (we did pay for a reserved table & attention, I suppose). The manager checked on us twice to make sure we were having a good time and we were - generally speaking. It's a beautiful rooftop. For the manger & waitress, I would return and I'll give the kimchi fried rice another try as well - don't overcook and cook even more in caste iron dish. Cheers!
