We had a very good lunch here. We came seeking a sub and discovered that their menu also has a slew of other items -- including Indian specialities. Their food is halal The small restaurant is located around the corner end of the strip mall. It's closest to the KFC. There's parking nearby. My husband got one of their combos -- it included a drink and french fries. He got a burger. It came with cheese and all sorts of added condiments. He said it was very good. I got a small cheese steak. I had it without onions, but with mushrooms and peppers. It was very tasty. The couple running the place were so pleasant. We ate in, but they do a lot of takeout. I wish my experience would have been as good as all others say theirs was. First of all, i had seen this place on a day it was closed. I tried calling on a Wednesday(a normal working day for them) to place an order for pick up, and no one answered the phone. Regardless, I still went because I was curious, and in the neighborhood. Low and behold the place was open. When I walked in I was greeted by an acrid smell. so, that in itself should have been an indication. In spite of this, I stayed. there was only one gentleman working, and it was 11 am. The restaurant was kind of full (one person or two in almost all the tables) and the phone was ringing off the hook. The one guy was obviously overwhelmed and couldn't answer the phone. so, it took awhile for him to get to me, while preparing sandwiches, (subway restaurant assembly style) while still managing to cook stuff in a range behind him, and gathering things from the "back". so what do you do when you have time? you start observing. I saw thrown empty siracha bottles thrown askew, dirty stained lights above filled with what appeared to be bugs, and water stained ceiling tiles that just don't make you feel like eating there. Oily and dirty surfaces where they're preparing your food. Unfortunately the guy had already started my food and I felt bad cancelling. But before he could start my food, I asked for a tuna salad, he went to the back came out and said they didn't have any tuna. okay, so another salad then. i looked at the lettuce and it looked brown and wilted. i asked him, do you have any other lettuce, and he again went to the back and brought out a ziplock bag with "new" salad from a ziplock that looked like it had been used 100 times. so..... i left because it was taking so long to grill my chicken, and the chicken tikka for a sub i was taking for my husband, i went around the corner to another store and actually considered not going back. however, that would have been rude, so i went back. when i went back, the gentleman was now joined by a woman, and i think her husband. by my assumption, the lone guy was the son to this older couple. thank goodness they came in to alleviate his burden. phew. i got my salad, and all they had was lettuce, onion, tomato (2 slices chopped in front of me) 4 slices of cucumber (again chopped in front of me) and a couple of jalapenos at my request. the only other possible additions (which i am not a fan of) black olives and banana peppers. there were no other veggies to add. so it made for a very sad salad, that quite honestly was lackluster. on the other hand, my husband loved his chicken tikka sandwich. they never asked me what to put inside of it, they just did, but i thought you would get an option as the assembly line is conducive to stating what you want and what you don't want.. regardless, they knew more on what to put on it because it was a success in my husbands eyes. I asked him would you eat from there again, and he said yes. then he asked me, and i said no. he then asked why, and i just told him about the salad, and not all others. Had l mentioned the "look" of the restaurant, he would have never eaten it. Now I feel guilty, in that sometimes he says, are you trying to poison me? maybe subconsciously I am???!! read more

This place is a hidden gem located right behind KFC on military trail - this place is by far the best fast food Desi Halal joint you can find in West Palm Area. The food is reasonably priced, service is fast, place is clean for a Desi place. I haven't tried any other items beside their Beef burger and seasoned fries (you have to ask for it) which I would highly recommend but I am sure other items in the menu are just as good as their burgers. I got my gyro spicy and got veggies added to it. I tried some of Sam's steak and cheese sub, it was good. But I liked my gyro better. We shared steak cut fries and they were nice and warm. The restaurant itself is pretty hidden, get your gps on. It's a small yet clean restaurant. The prices are extremely decent plus everything is freshly made and grilled. Excellent service - a family owned establishment that makes you feel like you are a part of the family! I'd just picked up my best friend from the airport. He was returning from his most recent deployment in the Middle East. We wanted to grab something quick but not fast food. I remembered that I'd wanted to try this place. Taha greeted us when we walked in about half an hour before closing. He was smiling and enthusiastic. We planned to grab a couple of subs to go, but he welcomed us to sit down and eat. We asked for his recommendation and we were not disappointed. We ended getting two subs and split them. He made us the steak sub, preparing it to our preferences (and without cold veggies which was his recommendation). It was amazing! We told him we like it a little spicy and he literally cut up some peppers and other veggies in front of us and grilled them with the steak! We also got the Chicken Tikka sub. While we were eating the steak sub, we watched him prepare more fresh veggies and work his magic one more time. It was flavorful, with authentic spices and fresh from the grill. Fantastic, halal subs plus a host of other Desi favorites! I have always bemoaned the lack of creativity from South Asian Muslims when it comes to diverse food options in the U.S.; despite our numbers it is rare to see a halal-Chinese, sandwich, Mexican, or other restaurant or even a food truck. After reviewing the menu, we were disappointed to hear that there wasn't any chicken available for the Tikka masala which was our intended choice. I opted for the seekh kebab and loved it!! The flavors, the tenderness of the meat was amazing. Good amount to fit into the naan bread but also enough to enjoy on the side. The salad on the side was good and a great addition. They provided a yogurt sauce on the side that really added a boost to the dining experience. Just the right amount of kick and flavor to make this meal worth having again and again. My friend had the chicken burger and was kind enough to share :) The chicken burger was served with fries and the fries were also incredible. Perfect seasoning, crispness and flavor. We went to this new halal sandwich shop that we had heard about on a Sunday afternoon. It is right behind the kfc and initially we couldn't locate it but it was there. They do have their own private kind of parking lot and the shop has ample Seating area but those are the basics. The biggest plus is that everything is halal and the sandwiches are awesome. We tried the steak and cheese sub and the fish sub and the gyro special and all were cooked by the owner who did a fantastic job. He threw in the steak fries and we had ourselves a fantastic meal. My recommendation is if you are in the area this is a great substitute for a Quiznos or subway as the prices are pretty similar but the taste is a hundred times better. Very clean and welll maintained with a caring staff. We only went for the first time but will be going often. Can't wait!!!!!! read more

took me a while to get around to writing this review, but here it is! short and sweet, desi subs and grill is awesome. gyros are more than a guilty pleasure of mine, they're a way of life, and i had been on the hunt to find one with the perfect balance of meat, lettuce, tomato and sauce for what seemed like eons. the buck stopped here- everything is garden grown fresh, and extremely tasty. the meat is also halal if that's your thing! the owners are also a huge part of what makes desi subs so amazing- they're beyond sweet, and like a previous yelper said before me, will customize any order. heck, i am such a frequent customer, the owner knows that i take my gyros without olives :) if being able to remember such a small and often easily overlooked detail isn't dedication to your patrons, i don't know what is. admittedly i haven't had the chance to try any of their other dishes, the $4.99 gyro special gets me every time. i'd love to try their curry one day, and on the weekend, the offer a special lamb kabob- $6.99 if i recall correctly?
