Summary: Amateur work at professional prices with poor communication and personal skills…read more I needed a gutter replaced and a downspout installed. I told them some roof work will need to be done to remove the old gutter since it is attached under the roof flashing. Price was high: $5805, but considering the roof work, I approved. They bent up the old roof flashing to take the old gutter off and left it. To replace the flashing, they wanted an additional $2700. Instead of installing the downspout along the wall, it was 2 feet away from one section of the house suspended in mid air and crooked. After complaining about the poor downspout installation, they redid it correctly, hence the two star rating instead of one. Paul, the person I dealt with, has an obvious disdain for customers. He called to tell me the work was done and wanted his check. It wasn't done and I started to explain why I thought this when he interrupted me and said "ITS DONE!" 10 minutes later workers showed up and continued working on the "done" project. Emailed Kim in the office and complained that Paul got angry with me when I said the project wasn't done. Paul called me shortly after and said he didn't appreciate me telling anyone that he got angry. He denied getting angry then blamed his anger on me for "arguing" that the project wasn't done. Paul refused to communicate any way except by phone. Red flag. I won't be using them again or recommend them.

While training at High Altitude Fitness in Incline Village, some random guy wearing a company shirt…read morewith obvious body image and self esteem issues kept following me around while I was doing my sets and decided to make a scene with me because he personally didn't like how I was racking my weights, even going so far as to say "we don't do that here" as if he owned the place or was important in any way (I still remember when I first started training). This is an extremely unprofessional way for a company representative to conduct himself, and has preemptively dissuaded me from considering their services. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and for someone who clearly has nothing better to do outside of hanging out at a gym having such an issue with how a complete stranger does his workouts is genuinely pathetic and not exactly the smartest move to make when in company attire. Even crazier is that my brief experience with this company seems to be on the tamer side compared to what others have experienced based on these reviews. If this is how a company rep treats a total stranger minding his own business, imagine how you as a customer would be treated.

I feel like I won the lotto when I found Holm Construction. They have been nothing short of…read moreextraordinary! John & Stephanie took me through the entire project with such professionalism & care, I feel truly lucky to have found them. I was going to do the roof & the deck but John told me that the roof didn't need to be completely re-done and only 1 of my 2 decks needed work. He could have just "sold" me the new roof & both decks but was honest in his evaluation of my property. His integrity is beyond reproach. I ended up replacing only my top deck and ended up doing 2 bathrooms instead (along with replacing the necessary tiles on my roof). Since I am in a HOA, John worked with the association to get the proper decking & color to comply with their guidelines. It was seamless. He replaced the top deck completely and secured everything on the 2nd deck. He made it safe & sound and good for years to come. I took 2 bathrooms down to the studs. Thank goodness I did since dry rot was found. John kept me up to date and let me know of any hiccups. As others have mentioned, he helped me with suggestions that ranged from where to look for tile, toilets, etc to helping me with suggestions for the bathrooms. He was patient when I would change my mind on things (i.e. I decided on one color for the bathrooms but it looked just awful once it was on the walls so I picked out a new color and they repainted them for me). The work of his team is extraordinary! I had wainscoting put on the walls - the tile "flows" and the gentleman who installed it is a true artist. They laid plastic on all the carpets to avoid dirt and grime to take care of the rest of the house. As I was doing this, unfortunately I had 2 floods due to the snow from this past season. He discovered it one morning and instantly went into action to drain the water from the house, find where it was coming from & got to work fixing the problem (draining the water, opening the walls, putting industrial fans in the rooms). They were both insurance issues and Holm stepped up and helped me with that too! Talking to the adjuster, getting me separate invoices for the work, etc. This unexpected fiasco could have been a nightmare!! But John came to my rescue and stepped up to help. It was completely unexpected and not in the scope of work that I had contracted with them but he had my back and I can't begin to tell you how much his efforts, help & kindness saved the day. They are busy! I did have to wait "my turn" and that took about 4 months but well worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a reason they have a waiting list, their work is beyond reproach! They are up front with their pricing. Nothing is ambiguous - no hidden fees. They will bend over backwards to help their client. I feel so lucky to have come across them. I will definitely be using them again for any future projects. I can't thank John & Stephanie enough - incredible people, phenomenal work & an A+ company! Incline is lucky to have you guys.
