Kirk cares enough about his members to learn their names, their stories, and always welcomes you back with a smile. The gym itself doesn't scream "saunas and shiny wax floors" but you can tell as soon as you walk in that Strouds has been put together with intention and held together by the community that calls Strouds home. The equipment is well loved and not the newest, but there's a little bit of everything. Cardio Queen? Jump on the treadmill, stationary bike, or stair master. Meat Head? There's an entire room dedicated to being stronger than the person next to you. Fighter? There's also a room for punching and rolling around on the floor. See! Strouds has everything and welcomes everyone. You'll be better off for joining, promise!

There are some things to look out for if you are considering this gym: 1. Be careful and read the contracts, i think they do an okay job with telling you, but remember canceling you have to "give" (whatever that's considered) a 30 day notice 2. When i left, there was no grace, the young blonde lady had some attitude and wasn't really friendly at all, (after i've been trying cancel for months but was pushed back or avoided some how) and that attitude kind of hurt because it made me feel like if i wanted to come back, i don't want to come back to that. In conclusion, it used to be a serious powerlifting/body building gym to be at, but it's slightly declined with that culture (i believe it's still there tho, and i've heard good things about their dojo) and if you aren't looking to go to a gym for that, than quite frankly the price just doesn't make sense, it will be easily 30+ dollars a month maybe a little cheaper if you get a contract. but there are gyms out there (and soon to be down the street) that are cheaper and with better equipment and facilities at that. look i've had some serious good workouts in the past there, and for the most part there is kind people, (some a little judgy) i just hate the bad taste left from that awfully passive aggressive conversation about canceling. but honestly Strouds is trying and you can tell, but just be aware of all that. Good luck

Even ChatGPT says nothing about the referring member. Based on this, I referred 3 of my friends, and they all signed up on the same day. Now I'm being told by staff that the referral program only applies during my first month as a member. This was never mentioned anywhere--not on the website, not on the referral sheet, and not verbally when I asked about it beforehand. Before referring my friends, I even called the gym to confirm the details, and no one mentioned this limitation. During my friends' sign-ups, the sales rep took my information (email and phone number) and assured me he would submit everything to management and that I'd hear back within a week. I never received any communication. When I followed up, I was told that only one of my referrals was counted. What happened to the other two? There has been no clear explanation. At this point, it feels like the gym is trying to avoid honoring the 1-year free membership reward. The written terms only refer to the qualifying referrals and say nothing about restrictions on the referring member's membership timeline. This situation is frustrating and misleading, and feels like they are cheating their way out of the perk.

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I have been a guest at NHR Crunch since it opened and have consistently chosen this gym over others in the DFW area due to its welcoming environment and positive culture. On 01/05/2026, when I checked in for my 7:00 PM yoga class, I scanned my pass as usual. At that time, I was loudly called out by name from across the check-in desk. I was informed that a photo of me was required. I respectfully and politely declined by saying, "No thank you." In response, the front desk employee--identified as a man with tattoos on both arms--Frank known as "Frank the Tank" raised his voice and insisted that I did not have a choice. This interaction occurred in front of other guests checking in and members working out nearby, drawing unwanted attention and causing significant embarrassment. I felt spoken down to, singled out, and pressured in a public setting. I believe guests should be given the option to decline a photo, as is allowed at other gym locations and in many professional environments. Despite my refusal, I was then singled out again and demanded to provide my ID, which I did before proceeding to my class. Unfortunately, the experience left me shaken and unable to fully focus during the session. Crunch promotes a "No Judgments" culture built on inclusivity and respect. This interaction did not reflect those values. While I understand that employees have policies to enforce, the manner in which this was handled felt inappropriate, unprofessional, and unnecessarily confrontational. After class, I spoke with a manager, Chris, who was available at the time. I explained the situation, and he acknowledged that the interaction was escalated beyond what was necessary. While recognizing that the regional manager may have been attempting to do his job, Chris agreed that there are far more respectful and appropriate ways to communicate with guests. He gave me sticky note where I could file a complaint come to find out the email provided info@crunchnorthrichlandhills.com is a fake invalid email. I am sharing this feedback because I have genuinely valued this gym and hope situations like this can be addressed to ensure all members and guests feel respected, heard, and safe. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I was surprised at first, but then I saw all the upgrades they've made since I was last a member. Great upgrades. The walking track has been painted, the smaller fitness room with the cardio machines has been laid out better, and they made an amazing weight room in the second gym. I was just astounded at the work they've put in to make this place more functional over the years, and way better equipment. For $75 annual, or $100 starting October 1st, you get two fitness rooms, a real indoor walking track, workout classes, an upstairs strengthening room, and the nicest front desk staff. That's less than half of what you'd pay at the gym. I can't believe I had been wasting money at a gym for less features and perks. Keep up the great work!

We paid $100 for a family annual pass since we are Hurst residents. The folks working the front desk are always very friendly and helpful. The gym seems to be kept in good condition and I frequently see them cleaning different areas. Antibacterial wipes to wipe down the machines after you use them are readily available at pretty much all times, you never have to go very far to seek any out. I've never had any issues with broken machines. It's also much less busy than some of the other gyms in the area, which I love. They do not have a sauna or pool or any fancy equipment (for example; prone leg curl, v squat machine, hip thrust machine etc) but they have all your basic machines, plenty of cardio machines and a turf area with a sled pull. My one gripe is that I wish they had better hours. They close at 5:00pm Friday and Saturday, and are closed all day Sunday. I got a gym membership somewhere else to supplement some of the other stuff and the days the Hurst Rec was closed, but I ended up cancelling it because I just had a much better experience at the Hurst Rec and ended up using Sunday as a rest day anyway. It's no frills but it gets the job done, and for the price, it's pretty hard to beat.
