I've been a member of the Strouds fitness family for 10 years. During that time I've dabbled in other box or boutique gyms, but no matter what I always find myself back at Strouds. Kirk cares enough about his members to learn their names, their stories, and always welcomes you back with a smile. The gym itself doesn't scream "saunas and shiny wax floors" but you can tell as soon as you walk in that Strouds has been put together with intention and held together by the community that calls Strouds home. The equipment is well loved and not the newest, but there's a little bit of everything. Cardio Queen? Jump on the treadmill, stationary bike, or stair master. Meat Head? There's an entire room dedicated to being stronger than the person next to you. Fighter? There's also a room for punching and rolling around on the floor. See! Strouds has everything and welcomes everyone. You'll be better off for joining, promise! read more

Look this gym used to be my favorite place to be, and honestly even tho i am leaving i still wish the best for it. There are some things to look out for if you are considering this gym: 1. Be careful and read the contracts, i think they do an okay job with telling you, but remember canceling you have to "give" (whatever that's considered) a 30 day notice 2. When i left, there was no grace, the young blonde lady had some attitude and wasn't really friendly at all, (after i've been trying cancel for months but was pushed back or avoided some how) and that attitude kind of hurt because it made me feel like if i wanted to come back, i don't want to come back to that. In conclusion, it used to be a serious powerlifting/body building gym to be at, but it's slightly declined with that culture (i believe it's still there tho, and i've heard good things about their dojo) and if you aren't looking to go to a gym for that, than quite frankly the price just doesn't make sense, it will be easily 30+ dollars a month maybe a little cheaper if you get a contract. but there are gyms out there (and soon to be down the street) that are cheaper and with better equipment and facilities at that. look i've had some serious good workouts in the past there, and for the most part there is kind people, (some a little judgy) i just hate the bad taste left from that awfully passive aggressive conversation about canceling. but honestly Strouds is trying and you can tell, but just be aware of all that. A serious gym for serious lifters. This gym is one of the best-equipped gyms in the DFW metroplex for strength athletes. Dedicated equipment and facilities for powerlifting, strongman, Olympic weightlifting, and bodybuilding with most everything you could ever need. The amenities are great too: a full locker room with showers and sauna, dedicated martial arts dojo, and a multipurpose room with great lighting for technical practice and warm-up. The staff are friendly and carry on the Kirk Stroud legacy with honor. Trainers are available for consultation during all hours for beginners to advanced competitors. Old beat up equipment. Rip off price, by average all gyms for years have been $10/month (example La Fitness, PF, FitnessNation etc) Too many wanna be bodybuilders that never leave! read more

I am beyond grateful for finding this place. Everyone is friendly, equipment is stellar, the hidden powerlifting dungeon in the back is worth the membership alone. I really love this gym and I came back after 2 years of taking off. There is something nice about seeing my old stomping grounds of iron begging me to hit it hard and grow. Branch Warren told me to never give up and do what it takes to get back in the gym after an injury. So I'm back and I'm working with Joey for nutrition and work out plans for weight loss goals and to grow BIG! Kurt is a pleasure to see again and always has a smiling face and love to see there is a few different pieces of equipment and they have plenty of equipment for your get fit needs. read more

This gym is good if you enjoy old school bodybuilding. The equipment, while slightly outdated, works well and the overall feel of the gym is great. There's a whole dojo which is rarely used, but the gym really needs an update on powerlifting equipment and competition plates. You pay a small price each month which is lower than most gyms and that's awesome too! They have vending machines with Bang energy drinks which is awesome. The bathrooms need some updating as the toilet seats are broken. The staff is generally really nice too. There's a lot of bodybuilders who you can tell are slightly judgmental. The only huge downside overall of Stroud's are the weekend hours. It's open till 4pm on Saturday and Sunday- the Friday hours are till 7pm which is frustrating if you commute from Dallas or Fort Worth to the mid cities. I've been going to Stroud's for about 3 months now and it's really just average and outdated. read more

Super nice people. I went and talked to a perosnal trainer named Tim who was very knowledgeable. The gym had a family-owned atmosphere.

This is a great gym if you're serious about working out. There are no frills, nothing fancy, smelly bathrooms with toilets that barely flush. However, the [most] of the patrons are there to work out and not socialize. It's rare to see a meathead standing around harrasing the females or watching themselves in the mirror. It doesn't matter if you're an 80lb weakling or a 400lb blimp at Stroud's - if you're there to workout no one is there to judge you. Ken and Sammy are very friendly God fearing people who will address you by name and make you feel welcome. read more

I just signed up for Strouds this Wednesday to begin training for a fitness competiion with trainer, Kevin. I really like the gym. Yes it does not have the luxurious amenties of a Lifetime or LA Fitness but that is not why one should go to the gym. The gym has certain machines and bars that arent readily available at other big box gyms. The owner is very nice and everyone is there to workout. Cannot wait to continue working out there as a continue my fitness journey. read more

I use to come here before I moved farther away and it became harder to fit in between work and travel. The Strouds were always very polite honest and enjoyable to chat with. I do miss the conversations we would have about everything from spirituality to how many reps of benches to spur growth. The gym itself is full of all the stuff the robogyms don't have. And the back room was where all the big guys like Johnny O and Branch Warren would sweat it out. I have to say seeing those two guys in person was quite humbling. Theres a sweat room, tanning, and cardio machines. It's been a spell since I've been but the takeaway from this review is really the staff and owners are good people. read more

Great gym to workout in. Some of the equipment is worn out but it's still allows you to get a great workout in. This gym is awesome, came to use the sauna for weight cutting before a jiu jitsu tournament and the man at the front desk showed us around and allowed us to use it. Excellent customer service. Really nice family feel to the gym, pictures of Ronnie Coleman and other bodybuilding icons signed on the walls. Great atmosphere in a world of commercial gyms, go Stroud's! read more

I signed up for a 12 month contract in January 2020. There were no issues with Stroud's Fitness drafting $31.39 out of my account every month, as it should have been. I visited the facility to cancel my membership in early February 2021. After telling the man at the front desk that I want to cancel my my membership he said the computers were down, wrote my name on a sticky note and said it would be taken care of. It was not taken care of and there was no record of me canceling my membership and I was drafted for March and April. Confused but still patient and understanding, I visited the facility again. Lee, who I believe helped me before ( he thinks it was someone else) told me that he can't cancel memberships at the front desk and there's only one person who can, Candi but she doesn't work at the gym and she doesn't have a contact number or e-mail. Lee said that he would tell Candi to call me about a refund for those 2 months. He wrote my second cancellation request on yet another sticky note and when I asked for something in writing stating that it would be cancelled and I wouldn't be charged, he couldn't produce such a document. What I thought was a proud, honorable local gym is actually a business that is untrustworthy with severe disorganization. Again, I gave this business no issues drafting my monthly membership fee from my account every month but I am having a nightmare trying to cancel. I have been nothing but kind and patient, but I have been taken advantage of and it's not all about the money. It's mostly about the principle. read more

Great place to for any weight lifting or martial arts training. They have a matted room and offer several classes. The weight room is very good and even have a whole separate back room dedicated to legs and power lifting stuff which is great. So many times it's not separate and people use spaces like that for piddly stuff...it doesn't happen here though. Also, there is a good crowd but it is never so crowded that you're fighting to get to a specific barbell, weight, or machine. I will also mention that this is a no frills gym, and they can keep the prices affordable which is exactly what i expect from a gym. The owners are also very friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a good gym in the north Arlington area. read more

My husband and I live two blocks from TCU and both have free memberships to the TCU rec, but we drive 40 minutes each way every day to workout at Stroud's which says how much we love the gym and personnel. We've been working out with Matt Brown (our trainer) and going to this gym for 4 years and have even tried other gyms closer to us and nothing else comes close in comparison. The drive and motivation that we get from Stroud's, the staff, and the members is worth the commute. Definitely recommend this gym to anyone that's dedicated to actually working out vs mouth breathing. read more

This is a great place to workout with friends. Family owned and operated. You will get on a first name basis with them. A true gym to go sweat. All fitness levels are made to feel welcome and always someone there to give you a spot or a tip on nutrition. A lot of good personal trainers call this their home. There are also free fitness classes on Thursday nights at 7:30pm read more

It's a great gym. The equipment is in good shape. The equipment in the back room is what sets this gym apart. It has squat racks, bumper plates, specialty bars, dedicated areas for deadlifting. The only issue I have seen is that people have a tendency to leave their bags and other junk just sitting around. I always feel awkward moving someone else's stuff without knowing if they are coming back. Other than that I have no complaints. The person/people at the front always say hi and bye.
