Piano with hand selected upholstery on the bench
    L P.

This place is freakin amazing! So many awesome pianos and piano related things- just a joy to be in there. The used piano I ended up going with had pretty scuffed up upholstery on the bench, so Taylor offered to reupholster it for free if I brought in the fabric. It was a fun creative project to find the right fabric and Taylor reupholstered the bench within a couple of hours after I dropped the fabric off. The delivery people were nice and did a great job. Just all around fantastic and I'm soooo psyched to have a piano again!

Love at first sight/sound! Amazing tone!

A few…read moreweeks ago, I realized my baby grand was having significant issues and needed to be rehabilitated. I called around to several places, and Lotof was the only person who took the time to talk to me. We discussed what was happening, and he offered to pick up the piano the next week when they were in Bend delivering pianos to another place. Before they took my piano, I went to Portland to meet Lotof and check out their rehabilitation work. Lotof took the time to show me around the studio, where I played many good (and not so good) pianos. He took the time to answer my questions, and I felt confident placing my piano in their hands. After they assessed my piano, Lotof called me and was very honest about the situation. We discussed options, and he was able to work with my fiscal situation. After much deliberation (and a lot of options) I decided my best option was to trade in my baby grand on a new upright that had better action, better tone quality, and was something that would support me and my family for years to come. Lotof took the time to listen to my personal situation, and appreciate my background when making recommendations. I felt like he cared about me as a person and wanted to do what he could to support me and my family. He's a musician, and that shows in how he fits the piano to the person. Thank you Lotof and the caring technicians, movers and staff at Michelle's. I've never bought a piano before, but if you're a musician, it's a very intimate purchase. Thanks for taking the time to help me reach the right decision. Thumbs WAY up!

I purchased a Kawaii digital CA78 while I lived in an apartment (an amazing instrument). Two years later I traded it in to purchase a Mason and Hamlin grand. Portland piano credited me 100% of the value for the Kawaii, even though it was 2 years old. The sales man found me the right grand piano, after letting me play most of the pianos there. His input was immensely helpful. When it was delivered I was unsure of what, if any bench would come with it as we hadn't discussed and I didn't pay for one. I was overjoyed when it was delivered with professional fully adjustable cushioned bench. This week I reached out to Mitch to get tuner recommendations, and instead he is having a tuner contact me, and covering the cost. Even when there were some financing mixups, they were immediately corrected with help from Brenda in accounting. In the end, great company, great people. When it's time to upgrade to my 9 ft Fazioli grand I know where I'll be going. Thank you to Mitch, Park, Brenda, and Portland Piano for helping me find my instrument.

I've never been so insulted. These clowns must have assumed they were stolen. "Where'd you get them? Why are you selling?..." Hey pal, I have multiple instruments and these were two I almost never play (as if it's any of their business). They claimed there were problems with both and weren't interested. Now, I have done business with them multiple times, but they can kiss this customer goodbye! I'm not a thief, but these guys are jerks. To prove these were from my personal collection, I've included a picture of my remaining guitars. I ended up gifting the guitars to my niece.

But I came at about 2:45 and the whole place was still dark. Just a thought - maybe have enough staff around at all times that some of your employees can take lunch while others are still on shift? Were they closed for summer vacation again and just didn't tell anyone? Sorry, but I'm all done here. You've wasted enough of my time. At one time Portland Music Co. was the best in the city. Those days are gone. It's better to buy music online nowadays anyway. The prices are often marked down by 20% or more if you get in on a holiday sale or something.
