Clean professional well stocked and non-intimidating. Been a member for 2 yrs and the guys (and girls) behind the counter are great and helpful with newbies and advnced shooters. I didn't have the best experience here. Not saying that race and or nationality had anything to do with the situation but it sure did feel like it. And it wasn't directed towards me but I felt I enabled them by giving them my business. Its July and I made my purchase at this store back in February or March can't remember but it was cold outside. I walk in the store and was greeted by my salesmen kindly and asked what I was looking for. I told him I wasn't sure and was just looking to see what they had because this was during the time when guns were somewhat scarce. While I was perusing the displays there was a young foreigner from with and heavy African accent being helped by another employee. He was asking to see a lot of guns and you can tell by the questions he was asking that he wasn't very familiar with guns. But none the less that shouldn't leave him subjected to mistreatment. I guess the employee felt as though he had touched enough guns and when he asked to see another firearm the employee said no. You finger f'ed enough guns to know what you want either your getting something or not. By this time im filling out my paper work to get my gun but the whole time im paying attention to what is going on with this customer. Mind you im a young African American male muslim at that prostration mark and all. kept stopping while filling out my paper work because I was getting annoyed at how the employee was treating this customer. And the gentlemen helping me knew it. He kept asking me if everything was ok when I paused. It was no point in arguing with the rude employee. You cant argue with ignorance. At the end of the day I brought the gun because I wanted it but I shouldn't have supported this business and never will again. Plus, I over paid because when I went to my usually gun shop a month late they had it much cheaper. That's what I get for not stopping and walking out. When shopping people do that just shop. They have questions some may not be the brightest but the only dumb question is one not asked. I mean look at chick fil a line. They sell chicken. People been there a 100 times and when asked what they would like the first response is ummmmmm....... Yes you are shopping for a gun. Something hopefully never used to defend your life but if needed its available. So if your life is on the line you should be able to ask as many questions as you like. If you don't like helping people get out of sales. We are your customers. Yes you may feel you don't need to cater to certain individually however they are paying customers that if they didn't come to your shop you wouldn't be in business. Treat people kindly. read more

The waiting line for a range is about 1 hour on weekends. Visits on business days are OK. Store prices are a bit higher comparing to other places. Just avoid going weekends and late after 6 pm business days. read more

This is a great indoor range with a very nice selection of rentals and firearms for purchase. Over the years, I've rented everything here from a fully automatic MP3, to a Mossberg, to a Springfield XD 45. Of course you may bring your own as well. One of the older associates is a little grumpy but it's a great establishment overall. The indoor ventilation system is very good and there are isolated ranges depending on what you're shooting (shotgun, handgun, etc.) They're definitely worth checking out. read more

Out-friggn-standing! This range is one of the best I've visited on the east coast, north VA. The stalls are super clean, well lite, & modern. The staff is rather friendly for a gun shop, not complaining, and super helpful/knowledgeable. I like this place so much I suffer the 3 hour round trip from the City. One more plus, was getting to know the staff and asking questions about weapons rentals and it seems like there choices are ever expanding, not much more you can ask for. read more

Enjoyed our time at Classic Pistol today. It's a nice, clean, well staffed indoor range. It was pretty crowded, but we only waited a few minutes. They had a decent selection of firearms for sale. We only paid $25 for a half hour of range time, ammo, targets, and eyes and ears. That's definitely cheaper than other ranges I've been to. read more

So far, I think this is my favorite gun range. The staff are friendly and the place is clean, and people actually clean up after themselves! Not like the other places where they don't care, and you'll see casings everywhere. My friend liked it so much that he got a membership here. I'm thinking about getting one too. New to the area, I've been looking around and deciding which range to become a member of. I also like to see who has the best selection of firearms, and best variety of services. But above all, I like places where the people are friendly. We drove over to Classic Pistol today to check the place out. I also needed some slide lube, so I used that as my excuse to get the girls to go, hehe. Starting off, I'll say that the place was a little hard to find. If it weren't for me reading some other reviews here on Yelp, I wouldn't have known that the place was in the back of an industrial complex. There were no signs on the road that I had seen. Also, if it weren't for the various gun manufacturer stickers near the entrance, I wouldn't have known that was the correct place, as there wasn't a store sign. Ok with that out of the way...I'll say that the store was a medium size place, with a large selection of handguns. There were probably 6 displays of handguns, and a full back wall of long guns, and from what I saw, a good selection of AR type weapons. I'm really a handgun guy, though so I was more interested in what was in the cabinets. There was an above average selection of holsters, and a nice portion of the store was dedicated to reloading supplies, which you don't often see in the smaller stores. The ranges seemed nice and tidy from the store side of the glass. Maybe a bit dim, but I'll judge that when I go shoot for the first time. There appeared to be ample space in an adjoining room for classes to be held also. The two salesmen I spoke to were casual and nice. They answered a few questions that I had. I purchased my grease we left. All told, about 15 mins in and out. Lastly, as a guy who loves to shoot, buy and collect firearms, a big thing with me is transfer fees. I always ask this question when I go to a new store...as I'm always on the lookout for a friendly place with a good deal on transfers. What can I say, if I find a deal online that I can't pass up, I like to have a transfer agent lined up. Classic Pistol is at the top of the scale as far as what I've found in the area. ($50 for online transfers) It does come down to a fair $30 if you're a member though. I probably wouldn't do any transfers here, unless I do become a member, as I think that's high for the service. I had a new Sig Sauer P226 Platinum delivered there. When I went to pick it up, the case was already opened. I questioned them why it was opened and told them the documentation was missing. He said one of the guys was looking at it in the back and he would go get them. He couldn't find them. He said he would call me once he talked to the guy and found them. I didn't get a call. I called two times to follow up. The second time, a guy got on the phone and gave me an attitude denying the whole thing. My best friend and I ventured here to celebrate his 30th birthday and we were not disappointed. We had a great time and I was thoroughly impressed with the prices and staff's help. I acted like such a chicken at first but between the staff and my best friend, I was convinced to shoot a few rounds. I was there recently to purchase some ammo for my rifle,I'm from NJ and was immediately impressed by the clean and spotless showroom and also what was observed of the range was also impressive.The indoor ranges of NJ are poorly maintained staffed with rude and incompetent sale staff. The largest violator of these has to be "THE BULLET HOLE", that range is a cattle call and an accident just ripe to harvest. After visiting Classic Pistol and seen with my own eyes how a range should be run I don't perceive that I will return to any range in NJ this place is worth the drive and the gas. read more

USED to go there a lot. One day my brother, sis-in-law and I went to a gun show at the armory in the northeast. i was looking for a shotgun, i looked around and thought they we're all overpriced. since it was close to classic, we decided to go there to check out their prices and also take my sis-in-law shooting. keep in mind, that most of the time my brother and i go there the staff doesn't really acknowledge you. they don't care if the guy they serve came in after you, you have to be all up in the counter to get noticed even tho they've seen you walked in. so anyway, we rented a 22 pistol for my sis-in-law. after shooting i decided i wanted to try a shotgun. i went to the counter and started talking to one guy about renting one. i did not know much about shotguns so i was asking a lot of questions. then this stocky looking guy with dark hair butted in to our conversation and asked me if i have shot a shotgun before. i said no. he said "then you can't rent it" so how the heck am i going to decide if i want to buy a shotty or not?! after that i never went back. that was really rude! I've found a way better place, it's all up in jamison, pa but the staff there acknowledges you as soon as you walk in, they are very friendly, and respectful to their customers. read more

I am a 58 yo male and just got my ccw and a 22 pistol. I went to classic pistol to shoot for the very first time. The staff there was very supportive, not rude or condescending. I would recommend this establishment in a heartbeat! On a side note. As I was leaving there was a woman in!the store complaining about their no cell phone policy. One, are you so insecure that you need to be talking to someone constantly, or two, are you so stupid not to realize that you are around loaded guns and it's a really good idea not to be distracted? Awesome! After a great deal of time surfing the net looking for a range where we could take our young son, who is looking to move up from air-soft and metal BB guns to real guns, I stumbled upon Classic Pistol, through a review on another shooting range's site. I called and spoke to Jeff (Day Manager) and he was more than patient with my "newbie" questions and because of his professionalism, we gave them a try that night. After two hours of shooting and trying multiple guns, we finally had to stop because they were closing. The staff was great and allowed us to try anything we wanted, while offering advice and/or instructions to help our son in his decisions. We shot everything (22 cal.) from rifles, to revolvers, to semi-automatic handguns, and found the pricing for the range time, gun rentals and ammo to be well priced, compared to similar ranges. The store and range were clean. The range was well lit and the temperature was comfortable. We will be going back again, and again, and again.... read more

Terrible terrible terrible ! We were CP range's member,it was a nice range ,but not anymore. Customer service is terrible,some employees are really rude. Every time I spent more than 100 bucks at the shooting ,but they don't care about that . More than 300 dollars for the membership it means nothing to their business. We won't renew the membership. Really nice, professional staff. Very reasonably priced. Went on a Saturday and it was busy, but they got us a lane in only about 10 minutes. They also kindly honored our LivingSocial vouchers even though we hadn't read the fine print about them not being valid on weekends. Would definitely recommend this place and will go back. read more

Some of the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. I've shot here multiple times with friends of mine and every time the employees are extremely rude or have some sort of Alpha male complex. It's unnecessary and even a bit frightening if you think about it. When I go to the gun range, I want to feel safe under the employees supervision, but I get the exact opposite feeling when I go there. In fact, these guys seem more like loose cannons. I will commend the ONE nice employee I dealt with. the prices are decent and the place is clean and well kept, but due to their horrible customer service they've lost my business forever. read more

Outstanding experience. The staff is very knowledgable and professional and could not have been nicer. Tim took his time and made sure all questions were answered. He also explained and demonstrated the break down, cleaning and maintenance procedures on our purchase. Prices are very reasonable and will return for a pistol when I'm ready. I just went to Classic Pistol for the first time with my husband, who had been there once before a couple years ago. I don't have any complaints about the range facility itself. However, the rude customer service was apparent from the moment we walked in. The staff was rude and didn't exhibit even the slightest bit of friendliness. Any of our questions were answered with curt responses and attitude. My husband is active duty military, and they didn't even mention membership options or discounts until after we were paying and on our way out the door, even though we asked when we checked in. They never told us a time limit for our range use but were eager to charge us the extra amount we owed for going over 1 hour. We were made to feel unwelcome and as though we were an inconvenience to them, despite the fact that we did not give anyone a hard time. We will definitely drive the extra distance to use a different range in the future. read more

Usually an ok range; I've been there about a dozen times or so. Recently had a bad experience there. Individual in lane next to me had some shrap fly back and hit him in the leg. Bad luck for him, it must have nicked a vein. While certainly anything but life threatening, he was squirting blood a good bit in the lane. Zero initial response from range staff. We escorted the individual out of the range bay, notified range staff, only for them to reluctantly give the guy a bandaid and some paper towels. No range staff showed an interest in helping him. No range staff made an effort to investigate the firing line for any potential discrepancies. The individual's loaded AK lay on the firing line, on FIRE, and unattended, until the individual returned approximately 15 min later to receive his weapons and kit. The individual's blood was still all over the floor of the lane. When leaving, we notified range staff that his blood was still there. We had to tell them twice before getting a response, that is how uninterested they were. They finally replied in a disgusted manner that "he didn't clean it up?" I created a yelp account for the first time just to leave this review. We will not return to Classic Pistol in the future or recommend it to anyone. read more
