This is apparently the only place in town to get pizza and we were sleeping next door in the caboose so we came here for dinner. It wasn't all that busy, and it had a dive bar feeling to it. The "cafe" in the name is misleading. We were quickly seated and I looked around at the place. We ordered a pizza and loaded tator tots and some drinks, which were all bottled including the water due to public water contamination. The food came up in about 20 minutes and the pizza was large (they had many sizes and configurations to choose from). The crust was nice though lacking salt, and the sauce was a bit flat. Plenty of cheese and toppings to go around. Strangely, they had ground beef on many of their pizzas but not sausage. Maybe the town likes it better? The tator tots came out with canned cheese sauce, dallops of sour cream, and bacon bits. They were okay, but weren't really crunchy from the frier. Some people prefer them that way too, so I guess I can't complain too much. Prices seemed a bit high for the area. There were flies buzzing around, no doubt because of the large hole in the front screen door. I don't mind dive bars, but sometimes you want a place to take your family for a relaxing dinner. Best pizza I've ever had. Three of us split a medium pizza, three non-alcoholic drinks, $27. Awesome!

We used loved this place, went back and now prices are plus $4 across the board. Wow, raise the price a quarter or a buck, not $4. Oh my. It went from one of the most reasonable priced places around to the most expensive. The owner must have forgotten that it's a dive bar not the the Ritz-Carlton. I feel bad for the staff having to be victim of what I would consider a owner's mid-life crisis. Sadly this place will be closed in 3 months. Talk about non-suddle and most of locals seem to be boycotting because the town is far from a rich town... I guess it's only just carm's for now, as that owner appears to be much more in check with reality during this US recession we have been living in. It desperately needs a price adjustment to survive. Also no more kegs (beer on Tap)(No Soda gun), water is brown so bottled only. When the kegs go so do the people. No Keno, No Kegs, No People. You MUST visit. We found the place randomly looking for the closest establishment with food. What was supposed to be a quick pizza pick up turned into a wonderful one hour stay. I'll be visiting this place more often if I'm ever in the area and the community is very friendly! Not to mention prices are cheeeeaap and the food is great. read more

Pretty decent pizza in a 10-mile radius. We think the pizza crust was premade, but the sauce, cheese, and toppings were quality. Very tasty. The pizza pie is cut into squares, which is apparently a thing in the Berkshires. read more

We stopped by this place while camping in Chester. There's not much nearby for food so we were prepared for the worst, tbh. But this place was really great. It's exactly what you'd imagine a tiny biker bar in the mountains to be. Super friendly people. Typical bar food, nothing fancy but exactly what we were looking for. The pizza was quite good. I had been hiking along the Westfield River for a couple of hours to see a series of keystone arch train bridges (http://keystonearches.com/) in 45 degree weather, which btw were well worth the effort. I had planned to go to Roscoe's, but they are now closed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday during the autumn months, so I went to Classic Pizza across the street. I was delighted when I walked in to hear a very good blue grass band singing about the railroad, the motif of my train trek. Some of the regulars are similar to Larry, Daryl, and Daryl, characters from a Newhart sitcom set in rural Vermont, but they were sweet, friendly, and made me feel at home. The decor consists of a multitude of license plates tacked to the walls and ceilings, but this quirkiness adds to the charm of a country town watering hole. I had low expectations for the food, but had worked up quite an appetite walking several miles, so I took a chance and ordered a pie. Low and behold, the mushroom, sausage, and artichoke pizza arrived piping hot from the oven and was very tasty. The sauce was luscious and so was the crust. I shall return. I don't know if the next time I will be so lucky to have great entertainment as I did last night, a terrific blue grass band that I think may be called Lou Lou, with an excellent fiddler, banjo, several guitars, and bass fiddle, but the pizza and beer hit the spot after a brisk, chilly walk and the prices for drafts and food were very economical, especially for the quality. I still haven't explored enough of Chester's beautiful woods and am looking forward to returning to see the gorge there. read more

The good old Blue Note!! I've been here hundreds of times growing up in the hill towns. Mostly, I'm the only girl there besides the bartender, every once in a while there'll be a farmers wife. Very very hick bar, can be intimidating to some city folk. I think my fiancée was a little shocked when I brought him here. However, their drinks are strong, cheap, the crowd once they open up to you- are good if you get hill town sense of humors! (I get asked how I do any work with my nails, I remind them I probably do more work than them lol). Service here is always great. The pizza here is pretty dang good, and I have had a LOT of pizza in my time. The fiancée and I always enjoy their pizza more than any joint in the city and joke that it comes from a little hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere. We enjoy the Tasha (crispy) which is a buffalo chicken style pizza with spinach and kalamata olives. Great company, great drinks, and great pizza. Be aware on darts night (there's a dart league) as it can get a little loud!!! read more

I've never said, "I'll never eat that pizza again," until today. I love pizza . . . some more than others, of course. But this . . . no . . . please help me shake the memories of this so-called "pizza." Nothing classic here. There was an old lady making the pizza in the back. It was a good size, so I was hopeful. But then the shock hit me. It was a strange dough; definitely undercooked. The sauce was bland. And the cheese tasted like American cheese, and wasn't totally melted. If it was free and I was starving, I'd still pass it up. And they have no deep fryer, so the fries and rings were frozen and just heated up in the oven. That being said, the bartender was very nice, the atmosphere was great, the beer was good and clean. I loved the local charm of the place with the regulars there and unique decor. That's why I feel so bad. I wanted to love the food. I thought I'd never meet a pizza I didn't like. Classic Pizza proved me wrong. read more

Great spot off the main road. Doesn't look like much from outside. More dive bar than pizza spot. But bar service was prompt and friendly. And the drinks were strong. Took awhile for pizzas to arrive which became a bit annoying. But friendly crowd, TV and jukebox made for a good outing in the Berkshires. read more

First and last time eating pizza from this place. Horrible sauce. All around bland. Seemed to have no flavor. Skimpy toppings. The sauce seemed canned and was kind of sweet, and not in a good way. Won't get pizza again and would not recommend to my worst enemy. The leftovers (and there are lots) will be thrown out. read more
