    Hangar steak

This was our first visit to Comfort Kitchen. Fantastic food and service. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our server, Aidan, was delightful. He loves his job! We started with the French onion soup which was served piping hot in a soup crock and topped with cheese the way it should be! Hangar steak served with mashed potatoes (choices) and butternut squash and parsnips. We chose mushroom gravy as a sauce. There's a lot to see in this historic building. The bar has an extensive stock of top shelf liquors. Parking is on street and convenient. If you've never been make sure to put CKB at the top of your list.

Farmer's Salad of the day (Caprese salad with grilled chicken balsamic reduction over a bed of greens)

This is hidden gem for the area. Friendly and welcoming service. We arrived during the transition from breakfast to lunch and they gracefully allowed us to order from both menus. The French onion soup was well prepared. My Farmer's Salad (Caprese salad over a bed of mixed greens) with grilled chicken drizzle with balsamic reduction and honey was delicious and refreshing. Our companion liked Crab Eggs Benedict. The only thing that we were disappointed were the coconut chicken tenders. They were over cooked and burned. We will visit next time we are in the area.

Sitting at the table now just finishing up our desert I just wanted to make sure I left I review before forgetting. Our dinners were fantastic my boyfriend and I shared a lot of our meals. We had the salmon bisque and the gnocchi meal. I had the chicken pot pie with the huge pastry on top it was amazing. Our waitress was great I believe her name was Cindy. The drinks were very delicious as well!

The Jean... bourbon, maple syrup , cayenne pepper? Sweet!

Lenox has some really cool spots and Ombra is one of them. Recommended by a local, we stopped here on Valentine's Day after our dinner for a nice glass of wine. The place was crowded but luckily a few people were leaving so we scored some seats at the bar. I ordered a glass of Nebbiolo from Italy which was good. My husband had a beer. The place is so cute and very romantic with dim lights, a great wine selection and their food looked so good. Unfortunately, we were so full that we did not end up ordering anything. Although, the french fries were calling my name. Ombra is a place that I could see us coming to almost every week and not getting tired of it. We met a local who is very nice and told us how Ombra is very popular. I think we will have to come back in the spring/summer to get those french fries :) If you are ever in Lenox definitely make your way to Ombra for a nice glass of wine or try a cocktail. This is the perfect date night spot for sure whether you start or end your evening here, you will be happy! Cheers~

The place is very cozy with a few tables and an order counter. There is ample outdoor seating in the back overlooking the Deerfield River. I stopped by The Juicebox recently and ordered two small plates to try. I ordered the Anchovy Toast ($6 plus tax) and Chorizo ($10 plus tax). The open kitchen area behind the counter is extremely small. The Anchovy Toast was a firm & chewy miche toast (Rise Above), chive butter, & 5 anchovies and garnish. This was a good choice to start. Next, the Chorizo plate was comprised of roasted patatas bravas and cold sliced spicy chorizo sausage. This plate combined savory and spicy flavors well. The small plates were pretty good. However, the speed of service was very slow due to the limited tight kitchen space behind the counter and only one staff member running the place initially. Another staff member arrived in 20 minutes after I got there to help in the kitchen. Things took a while to come out with a backlog of food orders to prepare and serve inside and outside in the back. After ordering & paying at the counter, the Anchovy Toast took 25 minutes to come out to my inside table and another 35 minutes for the Chorizo plate to arrive. The two staff were trying to get orders made and served, while also pouring wine and running the register. Other than that, I was not in any rush.

What made the experience even more special was the hospitality. After the Tanglewood concert on a Sunday night, the staff recognized that many concertgoers were looking for a place to eat and graciously stayed open later to accommodate everyone. That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about how much they care about their guests. Outstanding food, exceptional hospitality, and an experience I'll be talking about for a long time. I can't wait to come back.

A Valentine's dinner that did not impress!…read more Valentine's has always been a very special holiday for me. My husband and I decided to spend the weekend in the Berkshires, which was lovely and quiet. I made reservations ahead of time for this highly rated wine bar and very close to where we were staying. First off, due to the previous weather/storms they had no street parking. But luckily we parked in a nearby lot. Upon arrival, the restaurant bar area was very nice and romantic. The server brought us to our table but I was a bit disappointed in the ambiance. I mean the bar area was a bit darker and the table that we were being seated at had a lot of light. Now, don't get me wrong, It was Valentine's day which screams romantic and there was no romantic vibe to this restaurant. After mentioning this to our server she did move us and turned down the lights a bit which was much better. Food/Drinks: The menu was not big at all which was nice. I ordered a dirty martini to start which needed more olive juice and my husband ordered a rum cocktail which he enjoyed. For starters, I ordered their Over Roasted Parsnip which was very good and filling. My husband had their Beet Salad which he said was excellent. For entrees, I had their Seared Duck Breast. I really enjoyed the caramel sauce but did not love the duck itself. My husband had the Oven Roasted Chicken Statler which was very dry he could barley eat it. Also, since this is a wine bar I will say the wines were nothing special which was also a bit disappointing. I wish they had something unique and special to offer especially being on a Valentine's Day. I feel this place may be more of a summer destination. Service: Service was excellent I will say. Our server was always asking how things were, checking on us and if we needed anything and asking about any additional drinks. etc. Also, the Manager came over to ask how everything was but he spefically looked at me. I think my husband would've mentioned his meal being dry if he looked at him as well but my husband could've spoken up too. We did say something to our server after she asked about the chicken dish, which they ended up taken off the bill which was very nice. Overall: I didn't love Alta Wine Bar my first time here, but I would come back in the spring or summer months when the weather is warm to try it again. Cheers~
