I saw this place on instagram and I was intrigued. I drove over to silver spring just before the lunch rush and I'm glad I did. When I first arrived no one was there but a nearby patron informed me that he usually goes to the bathroom before the rush since they get so busy. I figured the food had to be good so I waited. Claude (the owner, cook, cashier) returned and I asked for his suggestions. He recommend the fish sandwich along with the salmon BLT. I got both as my wife was with me along with the old bag wings, and old bay fries as a side. I got the back and cheese side for my wife. About 15 minutes go by and I receive the text that my food was ready. By this time, the line started to form. The food was GREAT!! The fish sandwich is extremely large and does not fit on the bun but the fish is cooked to perfection. The sauce in the middle under the bun is great. I wish I asked for some for the rest of my fish as it was delicious. The old bay wings were perfectly golden with a hint of old bay. Nice tender warm center. Great crunch on the outside. A little more old bay and these would have been perfect. You get 8 wings. The old bay fries were a good portion with old bay sprinkled throughout. My wife's salmon BLT was huge. Biggest piece of salmon on a sandwich I had ever seen. The food here is GREAT!!! Hands down I'll be back. Great customer service. The prices are very much online and reasonable for the portion size. I tried this place for the first time yesterday and was impressed! The location is slightly past the bar but not all the way in the back of the food hall, not too far from the table games. It's pretty easy to see your food when it's ready if seated anywhere on that side of the bar or tables in that section. I went shortly before closing, so it was not busy, but there was a crowd at the bar for St. Patrick's Day. I ordered the Mac and cheese and crab jollof. I wanted the salmon tenders but they were out of them. To make up for it, I ended up getting extra Mac and cheese which was very nice of the owner. It has somewhat of a Cajun spice to it. The jollof was really good - more flavor at the bottom so I'll mix it next time. The woman in front of me raved about her fish sandwich so I'll try that next time I come too. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Starting with the service: there was only one person working, but he was extremely friendly and helpful. He made sure my friend and I were taken care of. I ordered the salmon burger blt (no bacon) with the crab jollof rice on the side. The salmon burger tasted fresh and was seasoned to perfection. They definitely didn't skimp on the size! My only complaint is the jollof rice didn't taste like jollof to me, but more like a fried rice. It was okay, but definitely not my favorite. Although advertised as a quick bite in the food hall it's located, Claude Have Mercy delivers hearty soul food and Senegalese dishes that are dependably good. The macaroni and cheese and fried salmon bites are sure options. The jollof rice is moist (which matters depending on how you enjoy your jollof cooked). Let me tell you it was hard for me to find this spot inside the mall w/o calling for guidance. This is the best hidden gem there. This is the only place I will ever buy fish or a fish sandwich from. It was meaty, well seasoned, well portioned and worth the price. It was cooked to order and I love freshness as well. I was craving a delicious fried fish sandwich and I didn't know where to go. I came across this establishment on tiktok and had to try it. Upon arriving the owner was very warm and personable, guiding me through my order. While I was waiting he also let me try an impeccable rum cake he was considering introducing to the menu. There was a dj in the food court providing a great r&b mix. Once I got my food I was blown away. The sandwich was huge. I rarely eat out. I usually prefer my own cooking, especially since I have food sensitivities and tend to avoid fried foods altogether. But I was attending an event rehearsal everyone was raving about this food, so I gave it a try. I ordered the fried shrimp. The very first bite put a smile on my face. The flavor was incredible, the texture was perfect, and everything was cooked with heart and soul. It was one of those meals you keep thinking about long after you've finished eating. What impressed me even more was the consistency. I went back a week later, and the experience was just as satisfying as the first. This time I had the jerk pasta, salmon, and a lamb chop... absolutely delicious. The pasta was rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, and the salmon was cooked beautifully.
