Service: I've been wanting to try Yu Noodles for a long time, and finally went when I had friends in town. We came on a Sunday afternoon and were the only ones in the restaurant, so we were seated and attended to immediately. The menu has lots of options with pictures which was very helpful since it was our first time trying many of the dishes. The waiter was also patient and helped us choose a few great options. Taste: We ordered the duck noodle soup, beef noodle soup, and seafood noodle soup, along with the spicy dumplings, spicy cucumber, and pan-fried dumplings. Everything was absolutely finger-licking delicious. The broths were rich and flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the dumplings were packed with taste. We were full and satisfied by the end. Ambiance: The restaurant is simple and casual, making it a comfortable spot for both big and small groups. It's not fancy, but it's clean, relaxed, and easy to enjoy a hearty meal in. Overall Review: Yu Noodles exceeded expectations. The food was outstanding, the service was quick, and the pricing was very reasonable -- we paid around $100 for five people. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it for anyone craving comforting, flavorful noodle dishes

Despite the excellent reviews here, we were rather disappointed in the food. The options are quite vast, but the only food option we rated above a 3/5 was the seafood shumai. The noodle soups were on the saltier side with a bit of bitterness that I wasn't used to in noodle soups. The duck over rice was flavorful, but I personally wish it was also deboned, like the duck noodle soup was.

On a mild fall evening, we stumbled upon Yu Noodles in Silver Spring and stopped in for a quick bite. The menu is eclectic, not your typical noodle dishes or Chinese (American) dishes - this place has authentic stuff. Shout out for the sesame spicy tofu - a dish of cold spicy sauce over a solid brick of soft tofu. This is something that isn't available most places, and for this alone, I'll be coming back often. The sweet and sour shrimp appetizer also stands out because of the grilled (not fried) shrimp. The dumplings and black rice/coconut milk/mango dessert also hit the spot. It was only after we left that I realized we didn't order any noodle dishes. All the more reason to stop back ASAP! I highly recommend Yu Noodle, and if you haven't tried it, you're missing out!

Found this while in town for work and my coworkers needed something close to our hotel and delicious - and Yu Noodles fit the bill! It was a bit of a chilly night, so getting some warm broth and noodles was exactly what we needed. We shared the traditional soup dumplings and got the bao buns. The soup dumplings were top tier - truly so flavorful and fun! The bao buns were okay - not my favorite in terms of the filling, but they were still nice to try. We all tried different main dishes and (I definitely don't remember what was what) but we all enjoyed the different offerings. Service was quick and we are glad we got there when we did, as it was quickly filling up with a short wait - as it is a smaller location.

Loved this menu it was hard to choose. The Sichuan beef noodles were flavorful and filling. There was a pickled veggie element in there that was slight but added texture and tang. It was perfect to have the smashed cucumber peanut on the side for texture and to take a break from the hot noodles. Fast service and the cucumber water was refreshing.

Came here for weekend lunch and food was decent. This restaurant also has 4 other locations in the DMV area. We ordered you tiao (Chinese fried breadsticks), steamed veggie buns, sticky rice and yibin spicy dry noodles. I didn't eat any of the Chinese fried breadstick but my dining companion enjoyed them. They were not made in house, and likely mass produced. Steamed veggie buns were good, decent amount of filling. I also enjoyed the sticky rice and the dry spicy noodles tasted good, but a tad bit spicier than I normally eat. Overall, a good weekend lunch and with tax and tip, our meal came to $48. I'd come back if in the area.

I have been to the Yu Noodles in Rockville, but the ambiance in silver spring is way nicer. They have more seating and the decorating/setting is just nicer in general. The restaurant is located a street across from the major downtown silver spring center, and there's tons of parking options. My friend and I shared their soup dumplings, peanut noodles, and beef noodle soup. The soup dumplings were solid. There could be a little more soup in them, but the wrapping wasn't too thick and the meat was delicious. We both enjoyed our noodle dishes as well. I would like to try more of their desserts, but I was already so full...so next time :)

Great food and prompt. Food was ready in less than 20mins. Nice clean business and great staff. Got the Sichuan Beef Noodle Soup with shrimp. Containers are nice and big and they have the food separated from the soup portion which lets you put what you want.

Fried mochi brown sugar - there's 5 but we already ate one when I remembered to take a pic

The food here is all fine and well, but I'm here to tell you about the fried mochi with brown sugar. It's a unique dessert, very similar to the one I grew up eating (except filling is different and shape is different). It comes out hot, and the brown sugar filling is also liquid inside, so BE CAREFUL not to burn the inside of your mouth. It's sweet, it's soft, it's crunchy. Must get.

Like other Asian restaurants in Silver Spring, YuNoodles is an OK Asian cuisine place that will satisfy your cravings if you do not want to go farther for a more authentic flavor. My partner and I went recently for lunch after a friend (whose recommendations I generally trust) recommended it. Overall, it's not bad, but having just recently lived in Japan where there is no dearth of good Chinese food, I found everything mediocre. The cucumber dishes for example, should be simple with maybe some soy and vinegar dressing, but they doused this dish in sesame sauce which makes it too sweet. My husband had some spicy beef noodle soup dish, which was OK, but overall I found the broth to be surprisingly bland. I ordered some dumplings in spicy sauce, which was probably the best dish, but also was a tad bit too salty. The service was decent though, prompt and friendly, overall it's worth a try if you're in the area, but there are better options if you're willing to go farther away. The tastes of the restaurant definitely cater to their clientele, who I assume do not know authentic Chinese food.

One of my friends and I live in downtown silver spring and wanted to check out this local spot. I love it here! Quaint and very cute and comfortable space! Customer service was great and they even provided us some recommendations! I got the rainbow soup dumplings which were delicious (like little pockets of soup and meat, yum!) and seafood noodles which was absolutely delicious. Great place to check out and a parking garage right across the street so very convenient for those that would be driving in!

Fantastic bang for your buck, and amazing food too! Ambiance and Service also great We got the scallion pancakes, rainbow soup dumplings, steamed pork dumplings and the N7 and N1 noodles dishes. It was all amazing and so flavorful. I definitely want to get one of the broth based noodle dishes next time, because I loved my wife's dish. Everything was very fresh and I know for certain that if we'd ended up in the condos in the building above them, we'd have come by at least bi-weekly. I can see us being regulars here. I'm just really stingy with my 5 stars.

We came here for a Saturday lunch and we did not have to wait for seats as the restaurant had ample seating throughout the meal. We started with the xiao long bao and pan fried buns, and they were both delicious. We ordered a couple of spicy noodle dishes - they were definitely spicy! I'd recommend the Sichuan beef noodle soup as portions of beef were plentiful, noodle was made well, and the broth was tasty. The entire menu did not break the bank either. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place!

Nothing has stood out as great, but the fried rice, the orange chicken, the dumplings and several of their soups have been good enough for me to order from them again. I think 3.5 would be a fairer rating than the 4 I'm giving them, but if you live in the downtown silver spring area, their price and speed of delivery are hard to beat.

Solid Chinese takeout and carry out food in the downtown Silver Spring area!…read more Did takeout from this restaurant the other for a late lunch and glad I did. The food was prepared fresh and delicious. I ordered a General Tso's Lunch Special and a Sweet n' Sour Soup. All were prepared perfect and tasted excellent. Food was ordered and ready right on time; roughly 10 minutes from the time I walked in and placed the order. Not sure with what the food would look like as this was my first time coming here, I was in for a pleasant surprise. The General Tso's Chicken was still piping hot even after driving back home for about 15 minutes. And, most of all not soggy or mushy!.... something I can't stand when ordering takeout!! The plate and servings were hefty and quite generous. The chicken was a mixed between white and dark meat. It was seasoned just right and so crispy, even after sitting in the container for my drive back home. The General Tso sauce was very tasty as well. My only gripe is that the dish comes with fried rice and I am not sure with what's up with most of the carryouts around the DMV, but a lot of them served this yellow - orangish fried rice that is not the most appealing to me, but I must honestly admit....it was dang good. Lol. I prefer a more wok-charred, brown fried rice over the neon fried rice served here and other places around the DMV. The Hot n' Sour soup gets a thumbs-up and good marks from my end. It was tangy, spicy, and sweet all roll into one. A delicious bowl of tofu, mushrooms, tamarind, and spices that aim to please. In all, Mandarin Restaurant is a solid option when in the Downtown Silver Spring Area and you are looking for something good to eat. The owner was very pleasant and he greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. His wife was very friendly as well and made sure I had all the proper fixings I needed to complete my dish; including my request for extra soy sauce and hot chili oil which complimented and elevated both dishes very well. If it wasn't for the neon orange looking fried rice, I probably would've given this place five stars as a first impression. Also, they could've served more broccoli in the dish than the two pieces that I received Lol -- see pic as receipts. The restaurant itself has limited seating but it appeared to be a popular takeout service with most that came in and patroned the place. A decent winner in my book and will definitely be back to try out other dishes.

None of us were from this area, and we intended to go to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant, based on Yelp reviews. However, once we walked in the door, it was apparent this place was focused on carryout, and there was no way we were staying to eat in their dingy entrance area. We walked next door to the Meleket Ethiopian restaurant. However, the place was deserted, and we didn't stay there either. We tried the Lime & Cilantro, the next place down, but it was packed and couldn't handle our group. So, we skipped past the verernary clinic and went to Spring Garden. And, what a great choice that was. They offer a huge menu of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese meals. Everything is reasonably priced. Once we got our food, we were impressed with the quality and portion sizes. And, through it all, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Hot and Sour soup (my bellwether for Chinese restaurants) and beef chow fun. The soup was flavorful without being overpowering, and the chow fun was delicious too. I liked everything so much that I ordered another soup and Thai Basil with Chicken to go, and that's been my lunch for the past couple of days. Don't be put off by the seediness of its location. Spring Garden is a great place to grab some tasty, reasonably priced food, either to eat in or take away.
