The food here is Delicious! We had Chana masala, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, aloo gobi, samosas, garlic naan, and mango lassis. Everything was spiced just right and very good. The servers were kind and efficient. The ambience is basic. It could be cool to add an actual clay oven in the space. Even just for looks. But overall it's a good dining experience. I recommend!

If you are a fan of Butter Chicken, I highly recommend Clay Oven. There's the creamiest I've tasted yet--just the perfect combination of creamy, sweet, and spicy. My server helped guide me to try a new-to-me spicy chicken dish. I did order it too hot, and he was more than accommodating by asking the kitchen to re-fire it. The inside and decor are inviting. Its dim and warm lighting would be well-suited for a date night.

The food was definitely better this time around. Apparently my spice level is the highest. Last time it wasn't spicy so I upped my game and went for the hottest with a side of Raita as a backup. The Raita looked a little different from what I'm used to but the flavor was there. The chicken tikka masala was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good. Again I ordered through DoorDash, so I can't comment on the restaurant ambiance or service.

    Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Curry

New Indian restaurant in sparks and looks like it also has a full bar. We ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken curry. Both tasted great! But heads up, chicken is bone in and there were little pieces of bone you had to be careful with. Price is average with all the other restaurants but I'd say the portion is smaller. Our server was new, but management was helping out and ensuring everyone was taken care of.

My daughter and her boyfriend wanted me to try Clay Oven at Victorian Square so we went for an early dinner last night. I love Indian food and it smelled amazing when we walked in so always a good sign. There was only one other occupied table when we got there. But we were promptly greeted and seated and waters and menus arrived immediately. The place has a full bar inside and lots of TVs throughout. I ordered the palak paneer (my favorite) ay medium spice and it was delicious. Lots of paneer and a rich sauce that wasn't overly creamy. Perfect blend of spices. My daughter had paneer butter masala and her bf had butter chicken. Both raved about their dishes. All three entrees came with rice so always a plus for me to not have to buy separately. And, even offered us more rice during the meal. We also shared two orders of garlic Naan. Light and airy and crispy, exactly how I like it. They didn't skimp on the butter or garlic either. Perfection. The service was great, our waiter was efficient and checked in on us and kept our waters filled. I really dont know why this place wasnt more packed on a Sunday afternoon but I know we will be returning and often! Please check this place out. Easy parking access, too.

I order the vegetable pakora, goat biryani, nan, and Kheer. I wanted to try a new place in town. First bite everything was heavily seasoned. The Pakoras first bite was flavorful and crispy. The Biryani was super salty. I didn't end up eating more than 2 bites of each as I found a long black hair fried into my pakora. Ended up throwing everything away after that. I can not review in service or ambiance as I ordered through door dash.

1000000/10! Seriously!!! From the moment we got there, we felt welcomed and it got even better after that! Our server was Arun, he was the best server we've had, ever! So sweet, very helpful! Made sure we were extremely happy with everything we got! Always took the time to explain the menu if we had any questions. Just absolutely greattttt! And the bartender was the sweetest too, she came by a couple times to help and it was truly a pleasure! Now, more about the food! Everything was made to order so he always checked up on us and let us know just a few mins more but we love that because we knew it was going to be fresh! We got the appetizer sampler, and it was mouth watering from the second we looked at it but that wasn't alllll it tasted absolutely phenomenal! Made me think, gosh I could come here every day if my husband let me lol. Then we got our food and it was yet again AMAZING!!!! We'll be back, and only here from now on when we want Indian! Which I want it all the time lol. COME HERE!!!! You won't regret it. I wish I got more pictures but I couldn't help but stuff my face!

Was passing through Reno and decided to pass by this place. Got an assortment of food: appetizer plate, chicken vindaloo, paneer masala, Lamb saag and malai kofta. All delicious and flavorful. The service was excellent and very friendly. Highly recommend if you are wanting Indian.

Tasty food but a little too spicy. I prefer very mild, however, the flavors were spot on and the onion kulcha devine.

I can't claim to be an expert at Indian food. I did spend a week in Mumbai and ate around the world…read morequite a bit, but I really only ever get Indian food when I get the random itch for it. So all I know is whether I enjoyed it. We had the Indian food staples of garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and goat biryani. It was great. Service was fast and attentive. Ambience definitely felt like a finer dining. The cost was reasonable for the quality. So yeah, I like it. Go try this place.

Maharaja made for a wonderful Mother's Day treat for Fritzie…read more First and foremost the food is great. There's no complaints there, but they didn't have Bhindi Ali, their Okra dish, it saddened me some. The rest of the meal I hoped would make up for it. We enjoyed their sampler (assorted snacks) which were an assortment of meat samosa, veggie samosa, chicken pakora, veggie pakoras and Aloo tikki. Delicious yet sizable bites to get you going. Their Lamb Curry, wonderfully made, tender. The sauce it was made with was delicious, the protein itself was gamy as to be expected, but day two after taking some home and eating it, not as much. Their Saag Paneer is what you would expect from most Indian restaurants, served piping hot, good cubes of cheese for texture and added flavor. Their Chicken Tikka masala was delicious, creamy, flavorful along with their garlic naan and of course we had to get Mango Lassis to drink. These are go to's in my opinion to determine your experience. They have to get these right and they didn't disappoint. The service was good, our waiters and hosts were kind and accommodating, I even got a little bit of history behind some of their wall art, the ambience was average, plenty of patrons holding conversations, enjoying meals, the music wasn't too loud from what I can recall, but it definitely carried the average volume. All in all, a wonderful visit. I recommend you try it for yourself.

The food is always delicious. We've been multiple times over the years and it never disappoints.read more

This is by far one of the worst Indian buffets I've ever been to…read more 1.) Options are limited somewhat. Two carts worth of food whereas others have three to four carts. 2.) No soup and salads are very limited and basic. 3.) Chicken Tikka Masala was very sweet but lacked any savoriness. I couldn't distinguish spices beyond the sweet taste. The sauce was so red that there is no way to make it that red with little to no distinguishable tomato base flavor that I can only deduce that they used a ketchup base and red dye. Ketchup because I swear I can taste a hint of ketchup under the sweet flavor. 3.) Goat curry was ok at first. It still lacked flavors that are the hallmark of Indian cuisine. However, they brought a new batch out and this batch was too salty. It overpowered any little flavoring that was there before. The meat wasn't as tender and you can tell the brine was overly salty because the goat meat was salty. 4.) The veggies were a complete miss for me. Again, no flavor other than sourness that is the yogurt. 5.) Chicken curry was mush. And the flavor was assaulting my senses that I found it weirdly... stale like a damp wash cloth left overnight. 6.) Naan was decent actually. Not as garlicky or buttery as some other places but it was fresh and crunch and fluffy. Too bad nothing was available to eat it with. Maybe it's off today or something but I can't forgive the $21.00 price tag. If it was $17 or less then I wouldn't bother with a review but after a 15% tip it was almost $25 I think.
