I just love this place. Easy, plentiful parking and seating. Yup... it's in the Mall Food Court. Clean tables, clean restrooms and great people-watching. Today I tried this spicy noodle dish. Yes, I did choose "mild", but it still was quite hot. Very tasty. Lightly browned chicken. Pieces of fried egg. I'd describe the noodles as thin spaghetti. It's not a saucy dish. We were in the mood for Indian food but didn't want to drive too far so we opted for Nayaab in Meadow Wood Mall. I had Butter chicken and my husband had Palak Paneer. We also ordered samosas and naan. We were pleasantly surprised that everything was so delicious! The samosas were fresh with a flakey crust that was the best I've ever had. The butter chicken was perfectly seasoned as was the Palak paneer. My usual complaint with most Indian restaurants is the white rice which is generally dry. I prefer the way Persian's make basmati rice (they use the same Indian basmati rice) but it comes out fluffy and not so dry. In any event, it's a minor pet peeve of mine. I would definitely recommend Nayaab as having some of the best tasting Indian food in Reno. We will be back for sure! read more

Imagine, if you will, a land of mediocre pizza and sub-par Chinese food. That's right, you're at the mall food court! But wait... you smell Indian food. Your nose leads you to a kiosk that is clean and tidy with dishes of delicious curries on display. What do you do? GET THE GOAT CURRY. That's what you do if you find yourself in this situation. It's absolutely delicious. I got chicken tikka as well, and it is also delicious but oh man... that goat is the actual GOAT. It's a tad on the spicy side for me, a wuss, but I do not care. I am sitting here with snot and tears running, eating it anyway. They cooked the naan right as I ordered it and it's perfect and soft. Mall food courts have come a long way! I was getting hungry and Nayaab jumped out at me as a place to try. Glad I did. I ordered Paneer Butter Massala with Saffron rice to stir in, and Mango Lassi. I went with the mild Massala but may try a little more spice next time. All of it was really good. The helpings were very generous. I was only able to get through about half the Masala and rice. All the food was fresh and a nice blend of spice and creaminess with a little lingering heat. The food was prepared and brought out within 10 minutes. Hope this place is successful here. read more

A friend recommended the Indian Cuisine at the Meadowood Mall Food Court. A bit dubious of the recommendation, I thought we would give it a try. The restaurant looked quite nice, clean with quick service entrees on display at the the service counter. My wife ordered the Butter Chicken "Happy Meal" (1 entree). The Butter Chicken was white meat, not my preference but understandable. What makes a dish like Butter Chicken is the sauce. In this case the sauce was nothing short of colored water with absolutely zero taste. Terrible. The rice was dry and equally absent of flavor. I ordered the Chicken Dum Briyani. My favorite Indian Dish. After waiting over 20 minutes for my meal, this dish was equally disappointing. The rice was hard and burnt. While there was "some" flavor, it could not over come the preparation of the rice. The marinated chicken was dry. We ordered a Naan Bread. We waited almost 30 minutes for the Naan to be delivered. Remember we were there for lunch. Although the wait was completely unacceptable, in fairness, the Naan was actually pretty good. If you are looking for fast, good Indian food, there are far better options in Reno. read more

This place is in the Meadowood mall food court. I initially went because I saw a sign in front of the prepped hot food that said "goat curry". When I went to order, found it they don't have that prepared(although it can be made to order). Ended up getting Tikka Masala instead. Asked for Naan and ended receiving saffron rice instead. Not sure if that was a mix up or he just forgot or didn't hear me correctly. The man behind the counter, I who I assume was the owner/shop manager couldn't have been friendlier though and they were setting up a new POS so maybe that threw things off. Food itself was pretty good for mall food and a nice addition to the other world cuisines being served there. They do offer a standard restaurant sit down service-type menu to order things they do not have prepared but I can't imagine too many people use that option since mall food is usually grab and go. read more

I love that Meadowood Mall has an Indian food option in the food court. The food is main on order so it can take 10-15 minutes to get your food but it comes piping hot. The naan is delicious and I like how they make it out front. I got the chicken biryani and it was good with decent spice level, but could also use a little more flavor and spice. The 2pm noodles are a must, so is the Nayaab chicken. The naan is made fresh. They do have Vada Pav and bread bagja, if you order this, eat it at the mall while it's fresh and hot. I asked for butter chicken and I'm not sure what the other entree was but it tasted pretty good. It was another chicken dish. I feel like though I was skimped out on the butter chicken. I also felt like it was lacking some flavor for me. The rice was ok. The samosa was good with all the toppings on it. I will say though that their naan was probably the best I've had. Very fluffy and the garlic naan was so good. I tried to dip it in the butter chicken sauce but I barely had enough. I also wish they had labels on what entrees they had showing. What a gem! When a friend told me that her favorite Indian spot was at meadowood mall, I was flabbergasted. Because, 1) I had no idea there was an Indian place at the mall. 2) Really???? Mall Indian food could be that good? I finally made my way over to Nayaab today. As someone who enjoys but doesn't know a lot about Indian food, I prefer going to the buffets since I can pick whatever looks tasty and try a bunch of stuff. Nayaab's is a perfect setup. You can pick and choose what you want with combo plates of 1-3 entrees and saffron rice or fresh made naan. There were chicken, beef and vegetarian entree options. The items I chose were flavorful without being too salty nor greasy. They also have an extensive made to order menu for those who actually what they like. As we approached the counter, there was a customer ahead of us sampling the sauces of the dishes Nayaab was offering that day (I didn't know you could do that); the gentleman behind the counter patiently tended to the woman's request until it was finally our turn. I ordered the gold combo: lamb rogan josh and chicken tikka masala with rice, my sister got a happy meal with the lamb rogan josh and rice, plus we ordered a couple of samosas for my niece. The food was flavorful; the meat was fall-off-the bone tender (pro-tip: watch out for bits of bone in the lamb). The chicken tikka masala was surprisingly more spicy than the lamb but both were equally good. The service was prompt and courteous, and the price was reasonable; overall, we had a positive visit. read more

Planning to be in Reno today and tomorrow, and of course, my first stop was my favorite spot, Nayaab. I meant to try different dishes, but I ended up ordering what I had before: chicken curry, plus lamb biryani to go for dinner since they close at 4:30 pm for New Year's Eve. I was also happy to finally try their tea. One beautiful detail I noticed this time was that the door was open, so I could watch the person making it--adding the spices, rich milk, black tea, then carefully straining it into my cup. Just one sip of that tea can take you straight to the Karakoram mountains in Kashmir. I'll try to stop by again tomorrow before leaving Nevada. read more

This place is amazing. I've eaten here a couple of times and it's definitely some of the best Indian food I've had in Reno. The meats are tender and everything is super flavorful. Everyone who has served me here has been very nice and helped me figure out what I wanted. I'm not super familiar with all the different dishes in Indian cuisine. But everything I had was amazing. The first trip I got the basic combo with butter chicken. The rice was cooked perfect, the samosa and the naan were hot and fresh. The next trip I got the three meat combo. It came with chicken tikka masala, a chicken meatball dish and I believe the last was a spicy shredded beef dish. The three meat combo also comes with the dessert of the day which was a rice pudding that was a nice cooldown after the food. Only suggestion I have is to maybe make signs for the individual dishes as they change it up daily I believe and it'll help the people not overly familiar with Indian cuisine. Other than that it's a clean spot with friendly staff. It's a welcome addition to have some great food in the food court. read more

The place itself is okay since it's inside the food court--it can be a bit noisy, but that's expected, and it's still worth it. We visited newly opened Nayaab last night, and here's the shocker...the best Indian food in Reno is currently being served out of the Meadowood Mall food court. We sampled just about everything on the menu, from crispy pillows of samosa chaat to creamy chicken tikka masala, from succulent goat to cooked-to-order tandoori chicken, and without a doubt if you love Indian cuisine as much as I do, you need to check this place out. The owner is as friendly and personable as you can imagine, and he led us on a culinary journey that belies the fact that we were sitting within reach of Westzel's Pretzel and Sbarro Pizza. Honestly, several of the dishes including the aforementioned chicken tikka and samosa were the best examples of these dishes I've ever had. The mango lassi, for example, had a slightly fermented quality like kefir - a testimony to its homemade origin - and boosted this drink to an entirely new level. The nan was pulled fresh from the tandoori oven and was emblematic of our entire experience - that everything is homemade from the freshest ingredients with expert loving care. Nayaab is absolute treat, the owner a gem and I am so happy that they decided to call Meadowood Mall home. I can't wait to go back! read more

Don't be deceived by appearances! This amazing new restaurant is located in the meadowwood mall but it's some of the best Indian food you can get in Reno! The owners set up shop in the mall to get some restaurant experience and plan to expand to a brick and mortar soon. Outstanding. Most Indian food in Reno is mediocre at best, but Nayaab has got exactly what I was looking for. Everything I tried was 'above average' at a minimum, and the samosas are downright killer. I'd eat them by the dozen. I'm not sure if that's healthy. I'm not sure that I care. Lol. Seriously.
