I spent approximately two and a half hours waiting in line. The office was so overcrowded that people were being sent outside to wait in approximately 95-degree heat. That is unacceptable, especially because many of the people waiting were elderly. When my number was finally called and I went to the counter, I was told they were going to take someone else before me, but that I would be next. No clear explanation was given for why someone else was being taken ahead of me, but I politely stepped aside and allowed them to help that person. After that person was finished, I should have been next because I had been specifically told I would be next. Instead, the woman behind the counter told me I would have to start the process over. The person she had just helped even spoke up and said I should be served next because he heard her tell me that she was taking someone before me but that I would be next. I calmly explained that I did not understand and asked her to explain what was happening. She would not give me a clear answer. At that point, I said, "You've defeated me," and walked away. Several people behind me immediately reacted and encouraged me not to let that happen. The customers in the office were clearly frustrated and outraged, which says a lot about how obvious the problem was to everyone there. I also tried calling the office, but the voicemail box was completely full, which suggests I am far from the only person having a bad experience here. This office represents everything people dread about going to the DMV: long waits, poor communication, overcrowding, inconsistent treatment, and no accountability. Whoever is responsible for managing this location should seriously review how customers are being treated and how this operation is being run.

This woman walked into the office with an attitude, questioned everything about the wait process, decided to leave after tossing her number on the keyboard of an employee and then proceeded to call the office after she left and tear into the greeter. Of course when they tried to call her back to respond to her insults she didn't answer her phone. This is truly one of the most pleasant license offices I have been in. To top it off, you feel positive because of those good vibes you get while you are there. We were there on 04/18/25 at 2 PM. I started my stopwatch as soon as I entered and it took 40 minutes in total for two of us to get our drivers license renewed. Step 1: You have to enter your name and reason for the visit in the iPad and wait for your turn. Step 2: Pre license document check. Once it's your turn , someone will call your name, check whether you have eligible documents and bundle them together with a paper clip and go back to your seat and wait again. Step 3: You will be called again to a different counter to complete license issuance like questions, picture etc. This office is worth a visit. Very kind people and they do have a website. Whom ever is running this, please takeover other inefficient DMV's like Olivette. Note: I had a very bad experience on the olivette office and wasted 2 hours the day before only to be sent back.

As of late (Q1 2026), when you walk in, there's two seated sections- one for state IDs, permits, and driver licenses, and the other side for everything else. Each seated section operates from a deli-counter style number ticketing system. Walk-in, take a number, have a seat and wait for your number to be called. I found each side moves rather quickly even while the staff are answering phones. My experience also has included only positive and friendly interactions with the staff. Normally going to the DMV is not an enjoyable task on your list, but they treat everyone so pleasantly it's not that bad.

No job is easy but when you work at a DMV, you have to be better.
