My neighbor locked himself out of the house but it wasn't his fault! He changed the battery in his keyless entry system a few months ago and had to change it again today. This was strange. With a brand new battery in and tested he walked the dog. But he couldn't get back in! We both immediately concurred, call CLC Locksmiths! Don answered the phone and could hear panic in my neighbors voice. Don explained that the electronics in the unit start to go and begin to eat batteries. Wow! It was agreed that a new unit was needed. Don requested a text photo of the existing unit and responded that they had one left on the shelf! Within minutes Don was there! He replaced the old unit and programmed it perfectly for use. Top notch materials and labor! Not to mention his many years in the business with a local family owned shop that has been here for many years! And if Don doesn't come out you may get one of the owners to service you! Yeah, they're not afraid to get their hands dirty! A reasonable $94 service call to come out, and labor and materials was "expensive" but hey, we are living in horrendously inflationary times (2024) and you know to live in New Jersey is not for the faint of heart nor weak of pocketbook! It was totally worth it for such emergency service and high quality results. Don is a fantastic guy and he should be taking great pride that he is such a big help in time of need! VERY professional! Cliff was able to talk me through what was most likely needed to fix the set screw on my door handle so I could do it myself. I am not at all handy! Brought him the handle and he did a mini class for me on how to (no pun intended) handle the fix. It was as easy as he said and I would absolutely use him for whatever is beyond my scope. Great people, Tom cut a new key and programmed it the Ford Focus I bought used with only 1 key. He also programmed the keyfob I bought at the same time for no extra charge. While there he also gave me my keycode so that if I ever lost my keys or locked my keys in my car I could have a new key cut for it from that code. "Mom and Pop" FTW yet again! Not only did CLC get me out of a big jam they did it extremely fast and for a fantastic price!! I came to them with a key/keyless entry for a Scion (yes a foreign made car!) literally in 5 pieces. I had originally gone to the dealership and left in tears with a nearly $500 estimate and a snooty response of "feel free to shop around for a better price, you won't find one" after asking for a break on the $250 labor charge! Luckily I did shop around and through my wonderful mother I found CLC who FIXED my keyless entry and put it in a shiny new case, with a spare car key to boot for under $60. Very impressed with CLC. I went to have a Jeep key cut and programmed for our car. We had the original key, but the buttons had stopped working so it was only as good as a valet key. Being the frugal minded woman I am, I decided I would order a key online and take it to a locksmith to get it cut and programmed as opposed to paying $400+ at the dealership. I'm so glad I decided to go to CLC. They were only 5 minutes from my house which was a bonus. Within 15 minutes I had a new key for my jeep for a FRACTION of what the dealership. These days getting a non spec key cut is a nightmare because all the places like Lowes and homedepot say oh no we cannot do that. You have to buy the key from us. CLC did a fantastic job. I'm giving these guys , especially Cliff their lock technician , a thankful five stars. I purchased a very large and extremely heavy safe from a business that was going out of business and during the transportation of it to a storage area I swore we damaged it. I was unable to open the safe even though I had just seen it opened two hours before, and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. So after some reading on the internet I was convinced I triggered the relocker system during the transportation on the flatbed and hitting some really bumpy roads etc. So I looked up lock technicians and CLC was one of two companies in my area that populated. I called them and the man who answered ( I'm not sure who he was) was understanding and let me know he would contact Cliff. A day later (today) I received a call from Cliff. He asked me a few questions, and after thinking about it, gave me some tips and things to try. To help eliminate other possible issues before concluding it was the relocker. He openly gave me advice and answered my questions. And told me to contact him again if I had any issues or if the safe still wouldn't open. So I went to the safe and after two tries, using his advice on how to press the lock in at the last number and how to adjust the combination up or down by one number, it opened! I can't explain how happy and relieved I felt , and still feel, as I write this. When I woke up this morning I swore the safe was locked via relocker and I was looking at a potential safe technician Bill of $1000 or more or who knows how much. He would have had to drill through the safe door and fix it all after opening it, weld steel back over the drill hole, repair the fire rating stuff and repaint it and whatever stuff they do. And with a four minute phone call of advice from Cliff, it changed everything. He could have easily told me he had to come out to see it and charged me a fee. And even told me it was locked out and scammed me and I would have never known, because I swore it was broken. But he didn't. And that means a lot to me. He didn't gain anything by helping me beyond being a good guy. And so here I am repaying him the best I can. By letting people know my experience with this company and Cliff. Thanks again guys.
