Our neighbor recommended Mark, Tracy, and C&C pools and while we had no issues with our previous services elsewhere, we are extremely happy with the move to Clean & Clear! Mark did our home inspection as well and he was extremely thorough, detailed, and answered all of our questions. We are first time pool owners so we had a ton! Mark has come by many times in between the weekly services to inspect our system, check our pool water PH levels, and recommend filters and tools such as the brushes to keep our system maintained and our pool clean. We have someone from his team come weekly to adjust our chemicals. My husband cleans the pool at least once a week (his exercise)! LOL but Mark also offers a full service cleaning if you're interested in that. Mark even helped us fix an issue with our jets and didn't charge us, that's how honest and top notch his company is. Mark with Clean and Clear Pools is a true diamond in the rough. We just bought a house with a pool and as luck would have it, we found ourselves troubleshooting many pool issues from the get go. We were very concerned about the issues, but after contacting Mark, he made everything better. He is honest, attentive, extremely knowledgeable and most of all just a wonderful human being. We had a couple issues come about on a weekend and he dropped everything he was doing to head our way so our girls could still enjoy a pool day. I mean, that kind of service and dedication is unheard of these days. I do not recommend this company. They don't keep the chemical levels where it should be. Over the past 2 months, my pool has developed an algae growth twice. Each time I took a water sample to an independent location to have it tested right after the tech was out to service it. Both times the independent tests showed 0 levels of Chlorine. My husband and I have a rental house in Pleasanton and have used Clean and Clear for over six years while owned by Dan and Debbie and now Tracy and Mark. They have always been very responsive and on top of any problems that have arisen (e.g. filter not being run long enough, filter dirty). Recently, Tracy went above and beyond for us when our tenant told us that the pool started getting cloudy. She went over to the house, spoke with the tenant and solved the problem. Since we weren't ready to replace the filters just yet, she told us that she will monitor the situation and let us know if there are any problems with the pool. Also, I appreciate that whenever we need any parts, she lets us know what we need and where we will probably find it for the cheapest price. Don't use this company!!!!! If I could give zero stars I would. I used Clean and Clear for years with no problems and then new owners took over and the service started deteriorating. The people they use don't seem to know what they're doing. They re-set my timer many times after I specifically told them to leave it alone, thus causing me to have sky high PGE bills. I had to constantly go out and check the timer settings after they left. They also couldn't keep my account straight and would send me duplicate bills even when I asked them to please stop sending paper bills and use email only. The final straw came when I needed help with the equipment, something Clean and Clear can't handle and called in another pool service company. Ends up Clean and Clear calls them when they have a problem they can't solve! I had nothing but headaches with this company read more

AGREED! I would not use this company either - they are no Dan and Debbie! We have had issues with service and billing since they took over. Interesting how a pool is green and murky and they think that is normal. We also have had issues with them touching our timer settings, but they have denied it because it's company policy not too - well the timer is not moving itself! We had a new pool built about 2 years ago and after the initial pool care from the builder we were on our own. We couldn't seem to get it dialed in so we called Clean & Clear Pools. As soon as they took over, our pool was beautiful! No more hazy, cloudy water! I can't give this company enough credit for all the time and help they have given us. We are first time pool owners and walked into a mess with the previous owners not taking care of the pool. I will be forever grateful for their time, help, patience, and most importantly education as they spent HOURS teaching my husband and I the best way to take care of our pool. True and no surprise here... Mark doesn't even come close to the professional service Dan provided. Our pool turned green under Marks care and had never been green under Dans care. Mark suggested we run the filter for 24 hours so the chemicals could do there work. What a joke, our p.g.e. bill doubled and the pool was still green. There was no responsibility on his side. Things got tough and he gave up and just stopped providing service. We finally got our pool clear after persistent care on our own... No thanks to clean and clear. Interesting... I am not one to complain, but this is worth writing about so another customer doesn't go through spending money on this company. read more

I'm surprised at the couple of poor reviews! We have used Clean and Clear pools for several years, starting with Dan and Debbie and now working with Tracy and Mark. We have been very pleased! No more green cloudy pool for us! :) Our pool sweep gave out a couple weeks ago and Mark was able to fix it and was so reasonable!! We have used Clean and Clear Pools for a little over 2 years now. When we bought our home, the pool could have been a fish pond since it was so green with just standing water on the bottom. When we had it cleaned and refilled, we did a miserable job of trying to regulate the chemicals and got it back to being almost as bad as it was when we bought the home. We had one company come and clean it and they charged us quite a bit of money and the clean pool lasted a very short time with us back at the helm of adding the chemicals. In the meantime, I happened to see the Clean and Clear Pools truck servicing another pool on our block and gave them a call. Dan came out to service the pool and we could not have been happier. We can set our clocks by his prompt weekly service and the monthly charge is so reasonable that we couldn't buy the chemicals ourselves, let alone keep it as nice as he seems to be able to do, for the price. Dan's wife Debbie is an absolute pleasure to deal with also and has always taken care of all of our requests promptly and efficiently. We have been using Clean & Clear pools for about a year now and we could not be happier. We moved into a house with an older pool and have never owned a pool before. We tried 3 different pool companies before Clean and Clear. The other companies either never showed up or if they did they were here for about 2 minutes. Because of the condition of our pool it needs a lot of maintenance. Mark (the owner) is fantastic! He taught me how the equipment works and anytime I have a problem I can call or text him and he gets right back to me. If I have a problem anytime of day or on weekends he is very responsive and helps me trouble shoot the issue right away. He has saved us a ton of money by not having to call out expensive pool repair companies. He also installed a new heater for our pool/spa. I shopped around for equipment and installation and he ended up being the most reasonably priced. Tracy handles the invoicing and she could not be a nicer person to work with.
