There were multiple times they called trying to come early, but our leasing office wouldn't be open yet for them to get a key. They did have to re-schedule a day once. Our final move-out clean they arrived late and wanted to come back the next day towards the end of the job, but we couldn't since they came on our last day of the lease. I attempted to use this company twice. The first time I had to cancel service because they would simply not show up when I booked them. It happened more than twice. When the cleaners did show up, they would say things like "we're behind schedule so don't have time for a full clean" or "we only have 45 minutes - is that ok?" They would still charge full price. Over the last two months, the cleans have been less and less thorough. The last two times they showed up, they neglected the bathrooms (despite requesting them). More odd, it seemed like the only cleaning they did was to wipe damp rags on my surfaces. When I attempted to get that error corrected, they were unable and unwilling to adjust their fees, and still insisted I include a 20 dollar tip for the worst clean of my life. I wanted to support local businesses , I wanted to support environmentally safe solutions, and I wanted to get my house cleaned. As a disabled American, I rely on the people I pay to do their jobs well, on time, and be open to communication. This company doesn't care about thoroughness, responding to emails, or taking care of their customers. Avoid at all costs. read more

This may be the least professional company I have ever dealt with. They showed up the first two times they were supposed to and did a decent job of cleaning. Since then, they have missed the next 3 appointments. The first time, they simply did not show up and then told us they had their calandra mixed up when we contacted them. The second time, they did not show up because it was a snow storm. When we contacted them about it, they rudely told us they emailed us and we should have known. No apologies at all. (They did NOT email us). The last time, they contacted us at 3:30 the day of our service to tell us they were running late and wouldn't be coming. Again no apologies. I used Clean Conscience for years. They used to a great job, show up on time, and cleaned my place with care and concern; however, I was charged out of the blue one day for over $350. Their billing department hadn't charged me for two cleaning. I let this go as a mistake, as their work quality was excellent, but then it happened again, but this time they had not charged me for months, and they hit my card for over $800, and after that, I stopped using them. I did not have luck with other cleaning services at my new place, so a couple of years later I re-engaged with CC. The office manager and I talked, ad nauseum, about the billing issues and what I needed to make our relationship successful again. They came out, and the cleaning job was awful. My place isn't filthy, and the first time the cleaning was done poorly. They tried multiple times to fix this issue, but the cleanings were never better than average at best. The main issue is the amount of turnover in the office. I've called to cancel cleanings because I travel for work, and they showed up anyway. I emailed the office regarding concerns about my bill. I noticed I was being billed afterward, and I asked to be charged on the date of service, and heard nothing back. Two weeks later I emailed that I was past due with a balance over $600.00 again because they had not charged my card. I gave them the correct credit card number in January after I lost my wallet, but they never updated it, and then they tried to treat me like I did something wrong. When the manager emailed me about my billing issue, she also included my entire credit card number in the email. If you know anything about credit card policies, this is a PCI compliance violation. Stay away from this company. The quality has fallen off. I hate having to blast a company on Yelp, but they definitely deserve it. read more

Warning: Do NOT give them your credit card before they clean your house! They will charge your card, even if cleaning is unsatisfactory (or in our case, they don't actually clean at all) We saved for months to be able to hire Clean Conscience for a whole-house Deep Clean ($180!), and we hoped to continue with their monthly "standard" cleaning service afterwards. The gentleman who gave the estimate was pleasant and studious, gave us a good feeling that even though we would be paying A LOT more than any other cleaning service, it would be worth it. But that's that last positive comment i can make. Every interaction since has been a bummer to say the least. First "Deep Clean" day we arrived home and were surprised - everything looked the same as i left it. We had to search around to try to find evidence that someone had even been there. Some trash bins were emptied, toilets and sinks were washed down, but that's it. No floors cleaned or mopped, no baseboards dusted, no vacuuming anywhere, ceiling fans dusty, nothing mopped. I immediately called, ask that they call me and did not authorize my card to be charged....3 days go by, still no call. I thought matter was settled. Nope. 5 days later, they ran my card for the full $180 Long story short, I gave them a second chance and let them keep the $180 on the provision of a "re-do". And sun of a gun, the second clean "re-do" clean was WORSE than the first. Email battle ensued. In the end, I gave up. Too much stress, too many tears, I couldn't fight anymore. I swallowed the $180 loss and canceled the credit card that they had on file. I'm glad to see others have had good experiences with Clean Conscience, and sad mine wasn't the same. read more

Small business owners beware! I hired Clean Conscience for a one time cleaning for my new business. First of all the cleaning crew showed up an hour late. I was about to leave when i saw them pull up. I never got a call from anyone letting me know they were running late. I had removed everything from our shelves and told them how important it was to clean them. I gave them detailed instructions to make sure everything was cleaned. When i returned all that was cleaned was the bathroom , the main office area and the floors. None of the shelves were cleaned and nothing was dusted. Light fixtures, shelves, Walls etc. I ended up cleaning after them. Which defeated the purpose of hiring a cleaning company. I reached out to them talk to a manager who cut me off and told me she would call me back and never did. I emailed them pictures and all they offered was a 15% discount. So, I called for an estimate a week ago and somebody came and gave me an estimate, her name is Kelly. First of all she showed up on time, took a look at the place and said I will email you the quote right away we put it in our system we have a program that works it out will get you the quote out you'll have it by tomorrow, fast forward a week later, never got the quote when I called, it rings the voice message goes on and the message machine is always full you cannot leave a message. Therefore they cannot call you back. They also tell you to email them which I have done two times and also no response. I love when a business is so busy however why give an estimate if you have no intention on doing the job. I am shocked as to how this person runs the business and deals with customers. How are you in business and you do not answer an email when you tell people to email and how do you stay in business when you don't take phone calls, don't answer your phone and your service is to clogged up to take any more messages. EDITED from one star: I was contacted minutes after I filled out the survey, and they rescheduled another cleaning the following day to correct their mistake. So much better this time, and quite pleased with the results, though the hassle of the 1st lack of quality keeps me at a 4 star rating. Original review: Had 6 people show up for a standard cleaning scheduled for 2 people for 1.5 hrs. I assume they split up the tasks, and I was told several people were in training, and they in total stayed for 30 minutes. I thought, due to the numbers, that it would be fine. They didn't ask me if I was satisfied, they just said "we're done!" I didn't have time to inspect the cleaning as I was leaving town later that day so when I came back (today), I finally got a look. This was a "move in" cleaning where the prior tenants didn't clean up that well, so I thought I'd hire professionals. I have pictures of all this: Hair and dirt in dishwater. Front of stove oven still dirty and stained. Oil over top of oven. Cabinet shelving with layered dust on them. It wasn't even wiped down. Cabinet faces all have layers of oil over them. Shelving units with visible layers of dust. Walls behind stove still brown from prior tenant's use, not even wiped. Counters still stained. Fridge still stained. Floor under counters and stove still with crumbs and dirt. In other words, I have no idea what I paid for. Very unsatisfied. read more

Let me start by saying the scheduler for Clean Conscience was very prompt in reaching out to me after I requested more information through Yelp. We got a cleaning setup for the next day and I thought it was all going to work out. After that point, things went down hill. At the scheduled time I got a call from the cleaning crew stating that the "green" products they use would not be able to make a difference on my move-out clean due to the amount of filth left by my tenants. This was a surprise to me since I clearly stated to the scheduler that there was a tremendous amount of cleaning and she failed to mention her light-weight cleaning products. The cleaner told me that their products "suck" and even though they were scheduled to have 3 people cleaning for 4 hours, I wouldn't notice much of a difference. I then called the office and they told me that they were aware of the issue and they would be able to get their crew to do their best in the allotted time. The next contact I received was a voicemail stating that they would not be able to do the clean due to a large number of spiders in the house and "good luck". I was concerned about what they found but they would not return my calls to find out where they found the spiders. I searched every inch of my house and could not find any evidence of what they found. I would not recommend Clean Conscience to clean your home since the crews don't work well with the office staff and they left me in a bind with a house that needed to be cleaned for a showing and gave me conflicting reports that ended up with them making up a story since they didn't want to do the job. I also felt they were unprofessional in the conversations they had with me. At one point the cleaning crew said that the woman I spoke to originally "didn't know what she was doing because she had never cleaned houses". read more

For my first (and last) cleaning, Jade came out and did a walk-through to go over what needed to be done, and I noted a few things that were important for me. For example, I asked them to remove the puppy fur from our couch (she's a lab puppy so not a fur ball, but she does shed), and clean the soap off the top of the washing machine. Two women took about three hours to sort of clean the house. Not only did they not do half of the things I specifically asked for during the walk-through, they also didn't dust parts of the furniture, mop the floor in the dining room, or move the vacuum in the bathroom to clean the floor under it. There were a lot of other small things left undone as well. Basically, it took two women longer to clean my house than it takes me, and I still had to spend 30 minutes finishing the job for them after they left. And for this I was charged a higher cleaning fee because it was supposed to be a 'deep clean.' Our house was not a mess to start with. I own my own carpet steamer, if that tells you something about how I keep my home. I have no idea why it took them so long to do so little. read more

Every faucet is shiny. The baseboards are shiny. We have all wood floors and they got in every corner, under every chair, behind every plant...they got under the beds, the couches...and the cleaning solution has no smell. Originally I gave Clean Conscious a five star review. That was about a year ago when we first started with the company. Shortly after the company was bought by another owner and management changed. Consistent with the other reviewers, quality went down after that. The staff is friendly, and they get straight to work. However they are often late, and had to reschedule often, probably because management is having them jam pack too many homes into a limited time frame. Quality is inconsistent. That is likely because staff are constantly turning over. This last clean was scheduled for Friday, and shortly before the cleaning they said they need to reschedule for Monday. On Monday, they were late. I stepped out of the house to take a phone call, and came back to the house expecting them. Instead, I noticed they were already gone, and I thought, "Dang, they were fast today. " Then I noticed the floors were not wet as usual. They didn't dust, or mop any of the hardwood floors. Our home is 710 square feet. There were three cleaners. How did three cleaners walk out of a 710 square foot home, and not notice that the majority of the house (besides the kitchen and bathroom) were not mopped? My senior dog is incontinent and she urinates on the floor when she is sleeping. Outlines of her urine puddles were still on the floors, along with her foot prints from where you gets up from a sleeping position, and walks away. Gross. The toilet had hair and grim on it. I called management and sent photos They rescheduled for the next day. I waited. No call, no show. I called them, they were running late and had to push it back two hours. So, I withheld going to work so I could point out all the places that needed cleaning. Two hours passed, and no call, no show. I called the company. She said they are still running late and it may be awhile. She offered to a free refrigerator clean, or oven clean. I politely declined and said we would find an alternative cleaning option. I got a lot of grief from people for hiring a cleaning service, but I travel quite a bit, and when I am home, I want to REST, and not clean. I had them come in and do a deep first time clean, with the anticipation that I would keep up a monthly service. Price seemed to fit my budget 3 bdrooms 2 1/2 baths in a townhouse .. just about 120 something or another :) I have a dog, and he is a stalker. He follows you from room to room and is super nosy. My roommate came home during their first cleaning and they were super nice and had nice things to say about our Rocco... he didn't even come to the door that's how much he was watching all this cleaning... plus he's afraid of the vacuum.. lol. They had everything out and moved and were doing a great job getting all the areas we miss on a normal clean. Bathrooms looked great and baseboards too.. my stainless... looked better than I have been able to get it. Even little things, like the shine in my sink and on my microwave... Pretty good. Interviewed Clean Conscience as a potential to hire for cleaning services. Nice woman visited the house - seemed considerate and attentive. Later, received cleaning quote and had some questions about their policies, particularly about how they safeguard credit card information (a credit card is required to have on file). Not impressed with some of their policy restrictions (seems very one-sided), and certainly unimpressed with the lack of follow through and question dodging I experienced from their team. No one answered my question about credit card security - and after a follow up on my part, I was informed "the question had been forgotten - could you please remind us what you wanted to know?". I hired them to clean a townhome I recently purchased in the area. The owner before me left quite a mess, and I knew that it would be a true test for this cleaning service. I think they did a good job on about 80% of the place - but just last night I started to unpack and found two drawers in the bathroom full of hair (from the previous owner's beard, I think) and toothpaste. This made no sense to me because the third drawer was perfectly clean. I spoke to the manager - and specifically said I wasn't complaining to get money back or anything like that - and she explained that newer cleaning professionals were given those "moving-in" or "moving-out" cleanings, and that they have more experienced cleaners doing the regularly scheduled houses - but then she admitted that it wasn't an excuse because all three of the people cleaning my new home had previous cleaning experience. Don't get me wrong, they were all lovely girls, and we chatted a bit. But they left things I had asked for specifically undone, and that was very disappointing. 1 star is generous. When I got home from work, I could see they showed up, because the bathroom rugs were in a pile next to the door. As I walked around I saw that everything they were supposed to have done was either unfinished or untouched. It looked like they left in a hurry. I thought maybe they had an emergency. I called, but nobody answered and nobody actually called me back. All I got was an email 3 days later and a bunch of excuses when I called about the charge on my credit card. Here is the complete list of issues I emailed to the manager after I tried to call and discuss it: Upstairs Bathrooms: * The faucets are spotted in the bathroom. It looks like they weren't cleaned. * They didn't put the rugs back when they stopped cleaning the bathrooms. * My shower wasn't cleaned. There's soap scum on the doors, tile, faucet, and a stain on the floor of the shower. Kitchen * They didn't sweep or wash the floor under the throw rug. * They missed quite a bit of the flooring. There are dirt and visible stains. * They left dishes dirty in the sink. * There's visible grease on the stove top. * Laundry room, family room and downstairs bathroom * They didn't wash the flooring * The areas where they dusted are streaked with noticeable areas that they missed. * The wood flooring in the living room wasn't cleaned at all. * More dirt and stains on the wood flooring. * They skipped a lot of the dusting. They worked around the movers that were scurrying around them. They cleaned ever nook and cranny. They even got all of the stains off of my drip pans- which gave me a mild concern to how crazy strong their cleaning solutions were... but I'm not complaining. They broke a bowl of some sentimental value, threw away the pieces, and hoped we wouldn't notice. There's some evidence of more damage, which I caught too late (why do I feel like I'm scolding errant children? NOT FUN.). Do you like to spend hours searching for your stuff? Go with Clean Conscience! I've spent over two hours during the past eight months searching for stuff. Last week, I needed a kitchen tool to make dinner. It was hidden underneath a potholder in the towel drawer?! It took me over 20 minutes to find it. Dinner was late. Do you want plastic kitchen items left in your garbage disposal? Clean Conscience will "fix" any working garbage disposals and give you crunchiness for weeks to come! And let's not forget the damage to the plastic items, which will need to be tossed. Do you want your cleanings to sometimes be less than stellar? Clean Conscience fits the bill! I asked them to clean up fine particulate dust in our basement from a radon mitigation system installation. Despite telling them the problem (and that they should give their team dust masks), a team showed up having no clue what to do. One started cleaning our living room, and they probably would have cleaned everything BUT the basement if I hadn't been there to redirect them! They feather-dusted and vacuumed the whole basement (without dust masks!), left, and the whole place became dusty again by the next day. I ended up cleaning it myself rather than asking them back. Do you want extra charges when you move out? Tell Clean Conscience to scrub your carpets for a move-out clean! Our landlord charged us for the carpets (which looked vacuumed not scrubbed in stained areas), plus some remaining dirt in the kitchen. I initially gave them two stars because the house looks tidier after they've been through. The question is, how much of your property ends up in the trash during their "cleaning"? So... If you like having people in your home that don't value you or your property, and are untrustworthy, then this is the company for you! PS To be fair, we were very happy with them in our old place. We got the same team every week, and they were great. Since moving 8 months ago, we haven't gotten a consistent team, and the quality seems to get worse every month. I finally severed the relationship after they broke the bowl and also left on the gas on our stove -- my toddler and I came home to a gas-filled home. PPS Review is now one star. They just mailed us the key, except now I owe $1.51 postage and have to go to the post office (which is not close by) to pick it up. The girls who came to clean did an ok job- they were good at surface cleaning but I specifically asked for a deep clean and for them to spot clean walls and cupboards, which did not get done. However the icing on the cake was that I noticed a ring missing after they left (and yes I was home while they cleaned). I contacted Alyssa and at first she was great and helpful about it. I even thought it might have fallen off the dresser while they dusted, so I moved all the furniture in my room looking for it. My experience with Clean Conscience ended on a very bad note after I hired them for a move out clean, which should have included closets, appliances, cupboards, etc, but instead the crew did a very basic surface clean, missed the majority of the target areas, and left after just 45 minutes. Unfortunately, I spent my last day in my house deep cleaning all of the areas that they had left untouched. It was really the last thing I wanted to do or had time to do the day before closing on the sale of our house and moving out of state. I had used them before this instance with pretty good results, but I always had a very hard time contacting anyone to schedule or arrange payment due to erratic office hours. I always got voicemail when I called and then wound up in a game of phone tag, including this time when I called to complain and hopefully have a crew come back out. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a call back until 24 hours later after I had already moved out of state. I had just switched to Clean Conscience, and my first experience was fantastic. Jade, the manager, was efficient and professional, always quick to respond. The cleaning crew was also the best I've ever experienced. Friendly, communicative, and they did a great job with the cleaning. Unfortunately, everything changed right after that. The company is under new management now, and in spite of trying to stick with them through their growing pains, I eventually gave up. The next cleaning after the one that was scheduled showed up at the wrong time. They called and said that the crew could not get in the house, and I let them know that they were not supposed to come by until after 2pm. They apologized and the crew came back later that day. Ok, things get lost in the shuffle. Fine. The crew came back later, and they were a different team than the one I had met with before. When I had talked to Jade, I had emphasized that it is important to me to have a consistent team that I trust rather than a new team every other week. But ok, I figured this was an extension of the aforementioned reshuffling and decided to let it go. When the team left however, they had missed vacuuming one area of the house, and had left important things unplugged. I sent an email and reiterated that it is important that I work with a consistent team, reminded them of the window of time that I am supposed to have the team arrive, and mentioned the mistakes of the new team. The next cleaning I was going to be out of town. I called to reschedule, and it required multiple calls and emails before I could get anyone to get back to me. In the course of trying to reschedule, they happened to mention that my usual team was on vacation, and yet again, a different team would have come had things proceeded as usual. By that time it was too late to reschedule the cleaning anyway, so I just skipped it, and reiterated that I only wanted to work with the first team that I had worked with, and if there was some change in the available team, they should notify me ahead of time so I could arrange to either be home during that cleaning or reschedule. They said that that was clear and they would do that moving forward. The next cleaning, they sent out an email reminder a couple of days before the cleaning. I decided to double check, just in case. So I sent an email asking what time the team was scheduled to come, and to confirm that it would be my team. They told me the time they would arrive was early morning. And that my team had since left the company. So... not only had they scheduled my team for the wrong time window again, they had failed to notify me that my regular team had left and I would need to be placed with a new team. Hopefully they are able to get the kinks worked out after the dust has settled. In the meantime though, I suggest you steer clear. read more

NIGHTMARE experience and FINANCIAL INFORMATION RISK. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. First, scheduling was near impossible, then cleaning was incomplete - missed the oven, fridge, cabinets (which are listed as part of their standard cleaning) and had to reschedule them (again a nightmare) to finish the job. THEN after they had my credit card information to pay for that one horrible cleaning, it was charged a total of 4 TIMES for the same transaction amount A MONTH LATER. Which they "claim" they never had record of charging me. I had to raise a dispute to my credit card company for all 4 charges, which of course Clean Conscience had "no record of charging me for." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. I'm only giving them 1 star because I can't give 0 or negative. They did send me a check to reimburse me for the full amount, but have not yet addressed what happened with my credit card information. I have changed my original posting that this was a scam because they called and asked me to. I am still of the strong opinion that PEOPLE SHOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Both from a cleaning perspective because 2 items in their standard list to clean were completely missed and especially because they charged me 4 times "without them knowing" why which scares me more. read more

They do an ok job of cleaning not great but ok. Why I had to stop the service is they were constantly renegotiating the price... almost every month we used them. The price changed 3 times (always going up) since the initial estimate. The last time even after I had them not do our dishes or 2 offices. I found them to be pretty unprofessional and would not recommend them. read more

Every second Monday the clean my house. They are almost always friendly, fast and efficient. And my house is clean and tidy thanks to them. I especially enjoy some crews, like Angela and Alex, that make an extra effort to insure that everything is just so! read more

I have used Clean Conscience at two homes over the last 5 years. I will never use them again though after a 6 month debacle of communication. I had a cleaning scheduled at the beginning of December, the cleaning was satisfactory, but the team broke a handmade ceramic item. Instead of leaving the pieces for me, they threw them away and took the trash to the dumpster. I contacted Clean Conscience regarding this and they agreed to reimburse me for the item. I did not receive the reimbursement until March! This was with multiple phone calls and emails. Holly was very kind, but it seems as though the bookkeeper does not work in the same space as the main office. It was just a ton of wasted time and energy for an item that should have never been damaged. read more

I tried this service for about 8 weeks. I was not happy with it. It all sounded good on paper, but the personal were young and inexperienced, and not well-trained. One of my kitchen appliances was damaged by an inexperienced cleaner. There was quite a bit of staff turnover, and different cleaners turned up each week. I had hoped to establish a set day and time-of-arrival and the company could not do that. Several times no one even showed up. The issues sound small, but I really needed a reliable good service, and this one did not meet my needs. I would not recommend Clean Conscience at all. read more

We have a house full of furry pets and a baby so it's great to have Clean Conscience come by to clean up after everyone. They have always done an awesome job making our home immaculate and they do it with all eco friendly cleaning products. It's great to know our house isn't being sprayed down with harsh chemicals every time the cleaners come by. Their office has been really helpful with all our requests for home cleanings, even when we've needed them on short notice. My wife and I have only great things to say about our experience with Clean Conscience. read more
