Went in on a Tuesday with a cracked screen that needed replacing. I was quoted $150; the guy working there told me they would have to order the replacement screen from, but it "wasn't worth it" to him to order it just for me, so he couldn't tell me when he would place the order or when would be ready. I should have known right from that that this place does not put a high value on customer service. Anyway, the guy (Eric?) told me that they would have it as soon as Thursday, but possibly as late as the following Monday. Desperate and having been misled by the online reviews, I said OK, figuring I'd take my chances. He also promised to email me as soon as he placed the order for the part, to keep me updated on the status of my repair. Then, as I turned the store to leave, he said, "I probably won't make the order until Thursday because I have a half day Wednesday so I won't get many more orders between now and then." So already we've gone from "Thursday" to "Monday" but I gritted my teeth and thought that I'd just chance it, the reviews were good. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday passed and I heard nothing from these guys. Nothing on Monday either. So much for keeping me updated. After work Monday I went down to the store, thinking it would be done. When I got there I complained to the guy that he hadn't emailed me as promised, and got a halfhearted "oh, sorry." He then proceeded to say, "oh yeah, let me check on where that part is..." meaning it hadn't even come in. He told me if I wasn't satisfied I could just take the phone and then seemed almost shocked when I told him, yes, just give me the phone back. As though he was doing me some kind of favor. These guys wasted almost an entire week of my time for nothing and didn't even apologize, and my phone is still broken, so now I have to go through all of this again somewhere else, although I can't imagine anybody else would be this unprofessional. They might be good at fixing phones (I wouldn't know, since mine is still as broken as when I gave it to them) but they absolutely suck at customer service. After shopping around a bit, I found their website and saw the bold claim that they can repair my Samsung S3's screen for $99. I brought it in and sure enough, even though my phone's glass had been completely shattered into little pieces, Clean Planet completely fixed it! I am very happy and it is great to have a like-new phone again. I'm not sure on the protocol, but I tipped the guy a few bucks too because the other place across town wanted over double for the same service. read more

After breaking my screen at Milwaukee airport I stopped by on my way home. They estimated I'd have to leave it a day but when I told them I lived out of town they got it done in a hour. I later realized my speaker was broke as well. After searching iPhone screen repair places in Madison, this was the cheapest, so I took mine in and got it repaired. It was repaired okay, but it is cheapest around because of the quality of the repair and the new screen-you get what you pay for. The new screen is clearly cheap due to its thickness and poor quality using the inside camera. I also bought a Lifeproof case for my phone at the same time from them, later to find out it is COUNTERFEIT and doesn't work properly. This just shows what kind of business this is. I would avoid taking a phone here and go somewhere else that is legit. Hope this helps when choosing a phone repair shop. read more

I took my phone to Erik at Clean Cellular Phone Repair to see if he could fix an Iphone 5 power button. The company appeared to have good reviews (however, most previous reviews are reviews under a different ownership), and Erik said for $50 he could fix it the same day, no problem. When I went to pick up the phone, it immediately died (in the shop) and wouldn't turn back on (which Erik attributed to a dead battery). The phone repeatedly did this (even though the battery was fully charged) over next few days so Erik said he would fix it. He kept the phone for a full week before he gave it back (with no adequate reason for why he had it so long), and since I've gotten the phone back, it's been completely unusable. It will not work at all unless it's continuously plugged into the wall, none of the buttons work properly, and the screen isn't even mounted evenly. I took it to another phone company who said that the motherboard is fried (as a direct result from the "repair"), it is unfixable, and that any reputable phone company would replace the phone. Erik denied that any of it was his fault or even tried to help resolve the problem. He had no problem raising his voice on the phone, calling me a liar and not returning my phone calls. A "simple $50 repair" resulted in me purchasing a brand new $500 Iphone. read more

Great place! I came in here to repair my IPhone 4S after the top button stopped working and it was out of warranty. After basically being told to go #@%& myself by both AT&T and the Apple Store, I decided to start pricing repair options. I then visited a few other cell phone repair places in town for price quotes, and Clean Planet ended up being the cheapest option. The man (TJ) who runs the business does the repairs himself, and he was friendly, timely, and honest. When my repair turned out to be a little more involved than he initially quoted me for, he took the extra time to perform the additional repair work and he didn't charge me any more than the original quote. Well done, sir! Also, when I noticed my screen was flickering slightly, he took even more time to troubleshoot that issue before I left. The shop is a mess. There are random phones and work orders laying all around the unkempt shop. The work orders have customer information including phone numbers, email addresses, and phone passwords visible to anyone who walks in. There is apparently only one technician, who is apparently over-worked. I was told 2-3 hours for a screen replacement and they kept my phone for a full 3 days, during which, they did not attempt to communicate with me until I called to get an update. I wasted 2 trips to the shop, believing they'd have it done when they said they'd have it done. There is no privacy policy mentioned that precludes them from accessing your personal data, information, photos, etc from your digital devices - that worries me. Lastly, they are rude. Both employees I had contact with were terse and condescending. They brushed me off and didn't think it was a big deal to keep my phone overnight WITHOUT informing me (I was on-call). read more

This place is horrible at answering their phone. One man took down my number and said he would call right back because he has like 3 customers. That was fine, I realize we all get busy. 3 days later I have yet to receive the return call. I have tried to call multiple time within these days and it goes to voicemail. I took my Verizon flip phone PN 215 in after it had been run over and its LCD screen damaged. The technician looked it over, pretended to begin looking on his computer to see if repairs were possible, and, after spending several seconds, informed me that repair was impossible. I asked how he knew this if he hadn't checked for available parts, and he replied " I can tell by looking". I took it down the street to Tech Heroes, and they repaired it for $45. read more

Totally incommunicative. My sister needed her cell phone repaired while traveling internationally. After nearly three weeks of her phone not getting fixed, not keeping my sister abreast about what was going on, and not sending her the email with a tracking # as promised (he tried to mail it, I asked for the #, he said he would send it, he never did), I went to the shop to pick it up and send it to my sister myself, unfixed, at a cost of $40. I understand that problems happen, but there wasn't a single call or email instigated from the owner to let us know what was going on. He tried to send it, but it was refused I guess because it had a battery in it. I sent it myself with no problem whatsoever. The point being, he never bothered to call to let us know what was going on, leaving us in the dark and putting the onus on us to figure it out. When my wifes Iphone backing broke we took it there and they were able to get it fixed on the spot, it was only $60. I was really impressed. So when my daughter broke my iPad screen I took it right over. I was told that they did not have screens in stock, and in order for them to order me one I would have to pay in advance. I had the option of leaving my Ipad there or taking it with and bringing it back upon receiving a call that the product came in (a few days later). I choose pay and wait for the call to bring the item in. A week later (a few days after the date I was told the screen should be in) I called and inquired why I had not gotten a phone call to bring my Ipad in. I was told that they had forgotten to order it, and that they would do so and give me a call when it got in. Another week and a half passed and I called again to inquire about my service. I was then told that the screens were on backorder but were expected any day that I would receive a phone call. I was never called to be informed that the screens were on back order, and I was never called that the screens came in. I decided to email to the business instead of calling, so that they would have it in writing that my service had not been met yet. In the email I asked to please call me so this issue could get figured out. I never received that phone call, an email response or a phone call letting me know that my screen was in. It has been a month and a half since I paid for my service and I have had no help from the company, just a run around. They are not open on the weekends so getting in during their business hours is difficult. read more
