Amazing salon that had been around for a long time. Blerta is phenomenal & the service is excellent.

Like many have a neighborhood bar, this is like my neighborhood salon. Once you walk in the door you feel like family and join in the conversation with everyone. It truly is a great environment. Blerta is amazing at her manis and pedis. She's introduced me to new types of polishes (and since, I've started doing my own nails so I don't go there as often - sorry Blerta!). I've sent my mom to get treatments from her and my mom had the same reaction. Amazing service but also wonderful conversation. You truly get the feeling she cares. If you need a facial or waxing, I highly recommend Lahoya. Every time I have seen her, my face feels so hydrated, clean, and just good all around. She is happy to recommend a specific type of facial once she's looked at your skin. I always feel like the treatment is customized and very thorough. Now this isn't a nail salon which has rows and rows of chairs and mani stations and dryers. This is a very intimate setting salon. Expect to spend some time there and enjoy getting pampered. On a personal note, I've lived nearby for 10 years. Blerta and Lahoya have been with me through some personal challenges and I appreciate all the tears and laughter I've spent with them. read more

Best Pedicure in Chicago- hands down! I went to Bella Mia back in November for the first time for a bridal party spa day for a friend's wedding. A word about my feet: I have bad feet. I get pedicures at least once a month, pumice on my own, but alas, I get bad calluses and my heels are dry. Then I met Mama. She started in on my feet and I got lost in my magazine, and randomly looked up with the realization that she had been pumicing my feet for what had to have been at least 30 minutes. I am used to the normal places that spend 2-3 minutes on each step. At first I thought it was just my bad feet, and felt mortified. But then the girl next to me with lovely feet was experiencing the same treatment - I guess it's just how they roll at Bella Mia. My entire pedicure took over an hour (I assume it was a tad longer due to my bad feet). It was wonderfully luxurious, and she did an amazing job. My feet stayed smooth and pretty for almost a month after words. I made a follow up appointment - same great treatment! I live all the way north in Rogers Park, so this is a hike for me - at least 35 minutes in no traffic, an hour in rush hour. But the pedicure is so amazing, that I am making the trip yet again this Thursday! read more

I visited for the first time after receiving a pedicure for a bridal shower gift and was blown away by the service as well as the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I got the most relaxing pedicure and my nails are beautiful, which is major for me since I'm admittedly particular. I will definitely be back and I'm so grateful for the experience! I made the appointment to have my hair cut one evening after work, I had a 5:30 appointment. The layout of the salon was a set up as a nail salon environment. So there was a lot of smelly chemicals in the air. There was one work station for they stylist. She was really nice and very willing to make sure that my hair was cut to my liking, so she asked a lot of questions and took her time. She did a pretty good job, but I was sadly somewhat disappointed with me haircut. As it isn't as good as my previous stylist in Kansas City did for me and my friend everytime. I've been debating whether or not to go back as my hair needs cut again and it's 1 week or so later and still haven't found the stylist that can cut my hair well. I have blonde hair and thinning areas on back and front and a good haircut is a must. I normally get my haircut every 2 weeks. read more

Really impressed with this salon. First, was glad they were open and available on a Sunday with only a day or so notice. Really nice phone service- they were patient with me as I kept going back and forth on time options. Salon is cute. Their music is perfect and relaxing. Never had a pedicure with seemed like 3 massages and included scrub cost. She was so careful and gentle. Loved the pedi. Mani was nice. Not a ton of no-chip color options and definitely not the best polisher. My nails could have been filed a bit more shapely. She applied the polish fine but after being done I noticed that my leftover cuticles also got painted. Went on a Sunday so didn't get a great deal but was able to use their first time customer coupon for 10 bucks off via their website. With so many options in the city I am going to keep exploring. read more

Best place to get anything done! When I first started coming to Bella Mia over three years ago, I have not gone to any other place for my services. Alright, so here is my story. I moved to the city & needed a new nail place . I found the salon closest to my house & it was Bella Mia. For years I went to the corner salons to get acrylic nails. Any salon would do because they all provided the same service...or so I thought. After getting my nails done for the first time with Blerta, I have find the only salon I will go to. As you know, the regular salons use the drills, your nails break easily & get very thin/damaged from the drills. Blerta does not use a drill & I was surprised how healthy my natural nails are now because of her. I get soo many compliments on my nails & I am proud to say they are mine! Not tips or acrylics that damage your real nails. Since I started getting my nails done with Blerta I have moved several times. I no longer live near the salon, but still make the drive from the burbs to get my nails done. Blerta is an amazing woman & truely cares about you. She takes the time to do a quality job. There are even times when I call last minute & she is always willing to work with my hectic schedule. I am always amazed with how she is able to fit me in last minute. She has gone above & beyond to help me with a fill in or a broken nail. Bottom line, Blerta is the best. Thats not to say the salon doesn't pamper me in other ways. If you really want a quality pedicure, go here. They pay special attention to all parts of your feet. When you're done all you want to do is walk around barefoot. Then there is the spa services with Lahoya. She has an amazing understanding of skin types & takes the time to understand your skin. I have seen a great improvement in my complexion after receiving facials with Lahoya. The massages are soo relaxing & priced really cheap. You can also get eyelash extensions, which are always nice when you need to look a lil more fabulous for a special occasion. This salon is truely a hidden gem. So, I actually stumbled onto this place by accident. I was looking for another salon with a similar name that's a 3 minute walk from my front door, and accidentally booked this one. I was pleased! It is a small place that does waxings and mani/pedis in addition to hair. I got my eyebrows waxed and my hair cut, and both were done exactly as i had asked them to be done. The owner, Blerta, is an amazing woman and she does fabulous nails. I would not go anywhere else. Went to this salon today as my normal mani/pedi places were booked or closed on a Monday. From the Yelp reviews, website and pricing was expecting a great service and was disappointed. I did the special mani/pedi $45 combo, which is more than the usual $35 the salons by me charge, but decided to spoil myself. The salon is old and can use some sprucing up - the nail chairs are old and the place is a bit outdated. My entire mani/pedi was done in just over an hour - so very fast and not much flare. My manicurist was nice, but not very talkative and only complaint was that she filed my nail in uneven shapes. The worst part of the visit was the other manicurist who received a personal call on her cell phone while working on the only other customer in there. She took the personal call from a family member who was very loud on the other side of the phone and proceeded to have a full 5 minute conversation with this family member who she said was intoxicated and yelling at her on the phone. It was extremely uncomforable to hear this entire conversation all while her client sat there uncomforably getting her nails filed. I go to a salon to relax - not here a worker have a full on confrontation with a family member on their personal phone. Completely unprofessional and ruined my so-so experience. The reason for the 2 start is 1. over priced service for a mani/pedi that was very express 2. having to listen to an employee talk on their cell phone. I will not be returning and just cannot recommend. read more

hands down best pedicure you will ever get! my mother and i have been going for years and while we may stray, nothing compares to the ladies at bella mia. pedicures can take up to an hour but not because they are slow but because they take time to make sure your feet are perfect. our pedicures usually last about a month and in those summer months your feet still look and feel perfect. the staff is friendly and personable. they owner is usually there working the front desk. for pedicures, definitely make an appointment. read more
