If you're reading this review it's because you want to make the right decision on choosing a roofing contractor. Read my review and all the many others so you can feel good about your choice. I did. I live in West Covina and we are the third owners of a ranch style home built in the late 1950's. We needed a new roof because the current one was over 30 years old. It was the third roof covering, so we had no choice but to remove all three. I knew this was going to be expensive because of the time and labor to remove the first layer, which was wood shake. The second and third layers were standard composition shingles. We also have an addition to the house, which was a flat roof. I received a total of 3 bids. The first bid shocked me. The second bid was lower by about $4K. Clear View was lower by almost $9K from the first estimate. Obviously the estimates varied greatly. I was instantly suspicious of Clear Views estimates. Prior to making a decision I consulted with a friend of my wife's sister who just happened to own his own roofing company in New Jersey. We communicated back and forth after thoroughly reviewing the scope, material, and what was included. He eventually gave me the ok and I chose Clear View because of price, the material and warranties, and the extras which were included. See the attached scope for details. Martin was the Project Manager who I worked with and came to review my roof. This was a total roof replacement down to the studs on the pitched main house roof, and on the flat roof to the exposed wood. Everything was excellent! His crew worked hard, were conscientious, and made sure things were done correctly with no corners cut or material substitutes - all as stated. This applied to all things that were done. One thing I should mention is estimates are based on what is seen. If, after the layers are removed, they find surprises, that may cost. In my case, they recommended covering my flat roof wood with new plywood. This made sense and I had it done. It cost an additional $3,500 but was still the lowest bid overall. So I would suggest you get 3 or however many estimates you want, then call Clear View. I absolutely was 100% satisfied. See photos. read more

Staff from Clear View Roofing were always professional, friendly, and efficient in their tasks. David was our project manager during the roof replacement. He was prompt and professional. He was also very thorough in his inspection. He took pictures. He crawled in the attic. And he even invited my husband to go up on the roof to explain (in his professional opinion) the condition of our roof. Again, I can't say enough how thorough he was. I had two other companies send representatives to get estimates for roof replacements, and none of them were as thorough as David. At the end of the project, David continued to advocate for us ensuring that the men completed quality work, making sure the vents were put on right and freshly painted to match our new roof, and the area around our house was clean. The actual roof removal and replacement took about 3 days. The men got there early at 7am each morning and worked all day to finish the roof quickly. Because of weekends and scheduling with the city the inspections, the whole project from start to finish took about a week and a half. Our initial estimate and the actual final cost of the roof replacement was very different. Partly, it was our fault because we were not informed to know what to expect. Once the roof was removed, there was another walk through to assess the condition of wood. (Read below for TIP) An area to improve would be communication. A day or two would pass before we were notified when inspections would happen or when the portal potty would be picked up. TIP: Estimate more than half, if not ALL wood replacement. In the initial inspection, ask the representative to give an estimate with the expectation to replace more than half, if not ALL the wood under the roof. In our estimate, it stated replacement of 10% of the wood. This small detail/ mistake ultimately doubled the cost of the roof replacement. TLDR: Customer service: Great Work: Great Communication: Good, but could improve Price: Higher end They were quick, efficient, and did quality work (as far as we know, but we won't know til it rains if the roof is sound ). read more

Overall good job. Troy made it a pleasant experience by always addressing concerns and fixing areas where the work was less than ideal. To be fair, every job and contractor has the same issue. Home owner definitely has to monitor quality and point out issues to the representative. Also, price for big job was very reasonable compared to others. However, once the roof was off, and they found other issues, there was much less ability to negotiate and prices seemed higher than I would expect for those issues. Similarly, if you are considering additional work, like gutters or wood repair, get it bundled up front. Once the big job is underway, there is much less incentive to provide competitive bid, since they already have the major work. That dynamics is just part of any construction project. In summary, we were very happy with Troy, and the overall product in the end, recognizing that you'll need to be engaged to monitor quality. read more

We called and the company sent someone out very quickly which was convenient. The sales team was very nice and thorough, however, when it came to discussing cost, transparency went out the window. The team quoted us and after quote proceeded to ask us if we had any discount codes. When we showed them the discount code it was not populating on their pricing system. The onsite team called their boss (mind you, at this point there was no detailed quote that could be pulled on their system) the boss proceeded to say that the discount was already included in the cost and when called out on the lack of facts and sketchiness, he got super defensive. It left a very bad taste in our mouth and made us wonder what else they are not being transparent about. Needless to say we are not going with this company due to the bad taste the boss left us with. After damages due to strong winds, my roof needed a complete replacement since the original wood shakes underneath the shingles needed to be completely removed as per current city codes. I had got estimates from 4 roofing companies and had almost finalized my selected contractor to proceed with when I came across the Clear View Roofing as a preferred contractor listed in Owens Corning website (one of top shingle manufacturers) and decided to contact them for an estimate. They scheduled an appointment for the same day. Thomas arrived on time and after performing the roof inspection and taking measurements, he prepared the estimate right on the spot with all details specified and explained clearly. Not only was the price reasonable but the impression left was also very positive and professional. When my insurance company threatened to drop my Homeowner's Policy unless I had my roof repaired, I freaked out!! I was unaware I had a problem up there, having no leaks, but the 25 year old shingles were worn thin in many patches. I got several estimates and I decided to go with Clear View Roofing and their Owens Corning Duration Cool Plus shingle system with a 50 Year transferable mfg. warranty and a 10 year warranty on labor from Clear View. Eric was very professional and did a wonderful job communicating and getting the repair done quickly.

We called Clear View out after a rainstorm caused a leak over a flat roof section of our nearly 100 year old detached garage. Clear View came out on Super Bowl Sunday to inspect and offered to start work right away. As promised, they returned the following day to properly tarp the roof (impending rainstorm) and started work about a week later. There was a significant change order and added cost following demolition which totaled an additional 80% to the initial contract which we felt to be excessive. CV finished the project in a timely fashion, reroofing a simple gable roof and flat roof over our garage. The work was completed quickly and they did a good job keeping our property clean and free of debris. However, the flat roof was not properly sloped as had been agreed on. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the flat roof which caused water pooling after a rainstorm due to inadequate sloping. Here is where I was shocked by how Clear View handled this situation! CV wanted to make things right and they agreed to completely reroof and properly reslope the flat roof section at NO added cost! Within days, the flat roof was demo'ed, resloped to code, and reroofed to our satisfaction! I don't think many other businesses would do this but to their credit, CV put their credibility and name on the line and fixed the problem! The final work quality of both sections was excellent and to our satisfaction. I don't think I can realistically provide a 5 star review because we had to jump through the hoop of having them fix something that probably should have been done right the first time. BUT, the actual final quality, cleanliness, and timeliness of completion was outstanding. NO BUSINESS is perfect BUT what matters most is HOW a business responds when there is a problem or when they fall short. In this regard, you can expect Clear View to make sure you will be satisfied and the job will be done right. CV isn't the cheapest or even average, but they're not the most expensive roofing company either. CV is a legit licensed and bonded company, will get the job done in a timely manner, and will step up if there is a problem down the road and that's more than you can ask for when it comes to a roofing project. My 30 years old roof started having some leaking problems. I asked a few roofers to inspect my roof and most of them told me that the best long term solution is to replace the underlayment but reuse the existing tiles. After taking 4 proposals, I decided to use Clear View Roofing and Construction. This company's quote is not the lowest but the sales manager Erik Karapetyan and his associate Joseph gave me a very detailed explanation of what will be done and what materials will be used and also tell me the time line of the project. I felt comfortable with this company. During the construction process, Eric was very responsive and answered all my concerns in a timely manner. The only complaint is he brought in his manager trying to convince me to replace all the shiplap around the house for a few thousand dollars. Later I found out that majority of the shiplaps were in good conditions. After further discussion, Eric admitted that the shiplaps were good and the proposed replacement is for cosmetic reasons. Shopping for a new roof is stressful with so many options and opinions being thrown around. Clearview did a thorough job of assessing our particular roofing needs, and were very professional about answering our questions and putting our minds at ease throughout the process. Unseen challenges cropped up - as they always do - and Mike and Steve were prompt and professional about assessing and addressing our concerns, and communicating this to the crews on-site. One forman even offered excellent suggestions on how we could improve the look of our fascia, and followed through to make sure we were happy with the upgrades. The roof looks great, and most importantly, it performs in this heat exactly as they promised it would.
