Bottom line: Highly recommended for outstanding response time and service quality. For some reason our pool pump wasn't moving water through the system on a Thursday and hot weather was coming that weekend (yikes!). After contacting 3 other pool service companies, the soonest we could get a service call was 1 to 2 weeks out and one wanted a $150 fee just to come out. Just when we started to despair, we found Clearly Texas Pool Service and spoke to Travis who said he could make it to our place the next day. Considering the response timelines from the other companies, I was a little skeptical that this would actually happen. Sure enough, Travis showed up within the time window promised and quickly resolved the issue. Additionally, Travis took time to give these first time pool owners some helpful information on how to properly maintain chemistry that we did not get with our initial "pool school". He could have kept all this a mystery in hopes of securing a service contract, but instead he showed us how to do it ourselves. This speaks volumes of Travis's honesty and integrity. I used them for one year and would not recomend their services. They are very pricy for what they do and the son/owner gets angry when the pool is actually dirty. Makes up excuses for why they wont honor warrintee on parts that were not approved to be replaced in the first place. Too shady for me so we fired them! read more

Absolutely terrible. My wife and I are both Air Force Majors, living in the Japan the last 5 years. We bought a home in La Vernia to prepare for our move to work on bases in San Antonio. We chose to continue the service the prior homeowners used - with clearly texas pool. I told them I wouldn't be moving into the home for a few months and signed their weekly service agreement. A couple of months after purchasing the home, my family made a 2 week visit to start planning our move. We noticed the water wasn't circulating in the pool. I've never owned a pool and wasn't sure if something was wrong, for example of the pump only ran at certain hours when we weren't there. During the second week of our visit we stayed a few nights and noticed the pump was never on. I knew something had to be wrong so I called clearly pool. They told me the pump hasn't been working for, as far as I could tell, at least three weeks. They failed to notify me of any problem with my pool during this time. I also have very little confidence they came by to service my pool during (at least) the two weeks I was there, in accordance with the weekly service agreement I signed and payed for. I had to spend a considerable amount of time explaining and convincing Johnny that failing to communicate to a customer a problem with their pool is poor customer service, and a violation of our service agreement which states clearly pool will ensure the pool is working properly. I should not be the one to tell my pool company there's a very obvious problem with my pool, when I made an 16,000 mile round trip to find out this problem had been going on for at least three weeks. The worst part of this situation is when I had Johnny diagnose and quote the problem with my pool. First he tells me I just need a pump. Then weeks later he tells me I need a pump and motor, and a long story about how difficult it was finding replacement parts for a simple 1hp pump for a small pool. When Lisa finally emails me the quote, I am shocked at the price. After my initial requests for the exact model motor/pump was ignored, they finally relented and tell me. In 20 seconds I find the pump on Amazon at nearly half the cost. I show them this and ask them where do they want me to send the motor that I will procure myself. Lisa then tells me that for my pool service to continue, I am forced to pay the price they set. Due to these two gross infractions of our service agreement, I terminated my service and told clearly pool to return my pump/motor. 10 days later, I have La Vernia pool & spa company over to service my pool. They tell me the equipment is still not there. I had to threaten clearly pool with filing a report of theft to the police for them to finally do the right thing and return my pool equipment. Not surprisingly, this was quoted by my new pool company once they inspected the returned parts "lots of wiring cut, parts missing, etc." This company is not honorable nor professional. They have terrible communication and did not treat my family with respect. This was not the 'Welcome back to America' type of service we were expecting. Gratefully, La Vernia pool & Spa has been a fantastic company to do business. In the next 1 star review, my wife will post my email sent to clearly pool terminating their service. read more

Travis was wonderful! I'm a nervous new pool owner that was horribly misinformed by the pool builder about chemical maintenance. I was worried about my chlorine generator. He came out to clean it for a reasonable fee. It turned out it didn't need cleaning, so he was going to reduce the fee. Instead, he agreed to do a "pool school" for the original fee and no extra charge. Today he checked in to see how things are going. My confidence is restored by the knowledge he shared as well as knowing I will always have him as a reliable resource. Highly recommended! read more
