There are trails as well as paved paths for walking and jogging enthusiasts. The trails do not have much of an elevation change, but they are immersive enough to where you feel like you are in nature. In the midst of one of the trails, you can see the platforms and zip lines associated with the Go Ape Adventure Park. There is a part of another trail that has a beautiful wooden deck that is very peaceful and is akin to other parks I've experienced in Japan and Hawaii. So, if you like changes of scenery, Oak Point is a great option- it's a chameleon in that way. There are restroom facilities that are well maintained located by the large pond as well as ample parking. As far as variety of landscapes and well maintained grounds, Oak Point is definitely a terrific option for outdoor activities in DFW.

I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. There is a fountain in the middle of a pond that is quite relaxing to listen to. The area is a nice and safe area so you don't have to worry about this either. It's located behind the shops at Legacy and the Marriott. It seems like a nice place to come to after you shop or eat at the shops. The ambience is relaxing and there is plenty of parking in the area, too. I love how clean it is and the water doesn't smell or anything. This place is well kept and you can tell. It's a great spot for everyone. Pets are welcome (on leashes!), and there is a fantastic playground near the parking lot--perfect for kiddos who still have energy to burn after a hike. You'll see a beautiful variety of plants and likely some local wildlife. Just a heads-up: they do have warning signs posted for snakes and poison ivy, so definitely keep an eye on your surroundings while you explore. The parking lot is huge, but this place is popular! The largest lot should be rotated so the large dogs can have more room to run and some shade trees. There are no shade trees where they keep the large dogs. It's boring it's just big piece of grass we have to watch where you step. I've contacted the management and said why don't you put some trees in there if you're not going to allow the large dogs in the big lot? And they have all kinds of strange governmental excuses. Last year they said they were going to build some type of a cover inside the lot but never did.

I see cross-fit groups out here all the time. There is a huge running/walking/biking loop around the entire park and connecting to other routes. I think also some kids soccer groups also play here. Families: there is a very large playground with benches and shade! It's top notch and well maintained. Tweens/teens- there are benches and sick places to hang. You can even bring hammocks. There is plentiful parking. Picnic tables. Families often come out on nights with solar events and their telescopes. To be fair it is super well lit so it may not be the best place for star gazing, but you get many people to interact with. Plus let me add for Pokémon Go players- three gyms and 6 Pokéstops so this makes for excellent playing.

Passing this park on an out-of-the-way side street for the last two years, I noticed a "workout area" towards the entrance to the park. I made a mental note to stop and check it out but, never did until today. I usually work out daily at the recreation center but, recently due to Omnicron, I've been looking for an interesting outside place to get some exercise. I remembered passing this place and decided to check it out. On pulling up I was initially disappointed. I guess I thought the structure should be bigger, more interesting, more challenging! then I started using it. Bam!!! Hello! I thought I was in decent shape for my age but, boy was I wrong. I couldn't even make it through a few exercises on this "adult playground"!!!! It just shows you can't judge a book by its cover or make assumptions. You have to Do It. this great little outdoor gym known as the Miracle is just that. In a fairly small area, several exercises are demonstrated via placard if you need them. It will wear you out, challenge you in ways you didn't anticipate. I'm so glad I found this outdoor place to exercise in the fresh air at this time. I feel I'm getting a type of physical challenge that I didn't inside a gym. Definite Go!

There are benches at regular intervals if you want to give your feet a rest. We saw many squirrels while on the trail and many tortoises in the creek. It's a nice place to enjoy nature and rejuvenate. There is very limited parking and I don't remember seeing any restrooms in the park. It's a dog friendly park.
