The $350 visit from this company did not yield the expected results, as the advice provided was incorrect and did not resolve the issue with the leaks as it continued, even after two wax ring replacements per their advice. After independently determining the problem and making adjustments, I found success in stopping the leaks by sealing the floor. Despite the company's inaccurate guidance, there has been no acknowledgment of their mistake, and they have not offered any resolution with us. We did not ask for them to come out so we feel they robbed us. Does 10 minute visit sound excessive, as if they are billing the HOA? Not a friendly company and you may want to look elsewhere. read more

Our association's plumbers are the worst so I had Tyler from Clearwater come today to clean up the poor job done by the association's plumber. He could immediately tell the drain had not been totally cleared because the drain was slow. We had a rather complex drainpipe blockage, as another Company tried to snake and then told us to replace all our galvanized pipes with a $2k price tag if we wanted the blockage repaired. We've called Clearwater Plumbing twice to come out to my parents' house in the East Bay for a clogged sink and a leaky faucet. Each time, I called at least two other popular-on-Yelp plumbers in the area in addition to Clearwater Plumbing. It's generally the same routine - leave a voicemail if no one picks up and hope that someone calls you back quickly. Larry from Clearwater did so each time and quoted very fair prices plus estimated time of arrivals. If they have to arrive early or late, they're good about giving you a call to let you know. Both Larry and Tyler are efficient, neat and generally put my parents at ease. Calling out a plumber isn't usually the best experience and I've heard a lot of horror stories. Not the case the last two times Clearwater Plumbing came by. Unless something changes spectacularly, they'll be at the top of our shortlist of plumbers to call. read more

I called Clearwater to replace parts in my shower. The call was based on a reference from another plumbing company. I needed someone who works on Hansgrohe shower systems, which, by the way, if you're ever considering having Hansgrohe installed in your house, DON'T. The parts are expensive AF, and they'll work for a period and just go bad, and if you think they're going to honor their "lifetime warranty", you better think again, because they're going to try their best to get out of it. And if you decide let's screw the warranty, I'll buy the parts on my own dime, I just want my shower fixed, good luck finding someone who works on Hansgrohe. Wait, I lost my train of thought. What was I saying? Oh, yeah, so anyway, I needed some parts replaced on my badly leaking Hansgrohe shower, and after calling around a few plumbers, I reached Larry at Clearwater. He offered to come out the very next day. On the day of, he texted me that he'd be reaching in 20 minutes, and showed up right on time. Got to work right away. It took him a good 1.5 hours to wrestle with the shower, even had to work out a bit of an ill-fitting piece ("new peg, old hole" sort of thing), but he worked on it cheerfully, and when he was done, it was like new. Great water pressure, no leaks, just great! We hadn't discussed prices beforehand, but the price he charged me, even though a bit higher than I expected, I think was reasonable, given the work done. And then, as Larry was on his way out, my spouse intercepted him and referred him to an overenthusiastically closing toilet tank flap in one of our other bathrooms, which had never been a problem for me, of course, but you know spouses, spouses are always right, so of course it was a problem, and of course, Larry fixed it in a jiffy. As he was headed out I asked him if he offers a warranty, and he says "my work is guaranteed for life. Any problem you see with the work I did today, give me a call and I'll be back out any time." STAY AWAY FROM CLEARWATER PLUMBING. I have been SCAMMED by Clearwater Plumbing. I paid $355.15 for the work which was never performed. There was a water leak at the water meter. The work was performed by Clearwater on Thursday, 2/20. The same day I called the water company to inform them that I had fixed the leak. The water company came on Monday, 2/24 and noted that the leak was still there. Water was still flowing into the ground. Clearwater had a 10% off coupon on Angie's List and they did not honor it at the time of service. So I had given a feedback on Angie's List that Clearwater had not honored its 10% off coupon. Larry from Clearwater came to my house at 8:30 PM and promised me that he will fix the leak the next morning. Next morning Larry called me and said that " I have read your feedback about 10% discount at Angie's List and that I will never come to your house and you are an A***OLE ". He continued swearing at me till I hung up. I filed a complaint against him with AngiesList. Larry promised to AngiesList to refund my money. This guy is so shrewd that he send a photocopy of a check to AngiesList stating that he has refunded my money but he NEVER sent me the refund check. This was he was able to get my negative review removed form AngiesList. If I send you a photocopy of a million dollar check then does it mean that I actually ever sent you a real check for a million dollars I am getting the review reinstated on AngiesList and I have also filed a complaint against Clearwater with California State License Board. read more

We had a leak under our cement slab floor in January, 2014. Since this was our third leak under the slab, we decided to re-route the pipes instead of jack-hammering the floor and fixing the leak. Larry had to be at other jobs, so his son was in charge of the crew (Note: Larry's son is young, but don't let that bother you - he is a great plumber). They went out of their way to save us money in the re-routing and minimize the damage they had to do to the walls and ceiling to put in the pipes. They kept everything clean and their price was very reasonable (we had gotten a few estimates). Since then, anytime I need a plumber, I call Larry. They have always been able to come out quickly - until a couple of weeks ago when my pipes backed up on the same day that we were having a dinner party. Clearwater wouldn't be able to fix it until 6 pm, so Larry recommended another plumber, who was able to fix it sooner (The other plumber did a good job, but my loyalty remains with Clearwater). Another example of how Larry does business - A neighbor noticed water puddling outside her kitchen - she was concerned that it was a leak under her slab floor. I suggested Clearwater Plumbing. Larry came out to give her a free estimate. He looked around and said that the leak was likely from a pipe leading to her sprinkler system. Clearwater Plumbing had an excellent response to my leaking toilet reservoir. It was part of the ball float that was malfunctioning and leaked a little bit of water. The contractor fixed the problem with the leak. He said that the float which is another part in the toilet reservoir wasn't tight and a lever needed to be replaced. He said that he did not have these parts in his truck. He checked further in his truck and found some replacement parts. Shortly after Larry had left I noticed that the toilet did not flush properly. I literallly had to press the lever for a long time until everything was flushed. I called the company and Larry came out and replaced the malfunctioning part. read more

I called them on Friday morning and Larry did his utmost to get me an appointment on the afternoon of the same day. Taylor, Larry's son, came over within the time frame that I was told. He identified the source of the leak to be a loose housing on a drain pipe outside of the house in 30 seconds. He fixed it promptly and no leak since then. I am very happy with Taylor's work and his professionalism. I would have saved $280.0 (leak detector guy's fee which turned out to be very vague and inaccurate after all in this case) if I called this firm first.
