I am fully aware that this is a sports bar. But: on a Sunday in that particular area, there is not a lot to choose from. This is one less place, unless you're just drinking. Do not waste your money. Perhaps it had to do with the timing. We were there on a Sunday, in the middle of the afternoon. Server was mediocre. Ordered a salad for me, a salad for hubs, and 2 kids entrees. Salad for me: had french fried onions on top. They were cold, and hard. Cheese was stuck to the tomatoes, made me wonder how long it had been sitting in the cooler. Steak on top was warm, not hot, but I ate it, thinking (hoping) it was at least somewhat fresh. Lettuce on top was fresh. I complained to the server about the french fried onions, but got a vague, "I'll let them know". No offer to fix it, nothing. Husband's salad had some kind of crouton/bread on top that was also disgusting. I guess the garnishes don't get replaced often? Kids both had cheese pizza, neither kid really ate it, it didn't look appetizing, and I was up charged by quite a bit to order fruit for them both, which of course wasn't fresh, but better than the always standard french fries. A word to the wise: online the menu says that kids meals come with a drink, entree, and oreo cookie. And cost $6. I paid $2.75 for milk, an upcharge of $2.59 for the fruit, and $6 for the entree. So basically double what's online, and no cookie, of course not. Also: the floors in that place are super slick. I can only imagine if you've had a few, how you don't fall on your butt. Not sure what they're cleaning with, or what they have on the bottom of the chairs in the dining room, but maybe they should change it up. In fact, the floors are so slick, my kid slid in the chair, so that it fell backwards, and whacked his head on the table. No one seemed to care. Only after I got up and found a manager and asked for some ice, did anyone do anything. And even then, I had already paid, so the manager, after getting ice, offered a gift card. Honestly? For the month I was in Ohio for work, Cleats always gave me a satisfactory lunch whenever I went there. From their mozzarella sticks, to the amazing wings, to great bar tending service, I was always impressed by the amazing food and atmosphere. The view out on the lake is great with docks to walk out on to. Sadly I visited in the winter, would love to come visit in the summer. This spot became my go to lunch/dinner location. The Lake Erie sauce is amazing with the fried pickles, and the Louisiana hot rub on wings is award winning. read more

This is a must stop....steak tacos are so wonderful, beer is ice cold, food is good, staff is busy but friendly. This is a place to relax at and not be in a hurry. Views are awesome, 2 patios outside or a big bar inside with big windows the overlook the water and boats. We try to stop every weekend during the warmer months, never had a bad meal here and never wait long for a beer refill. Place is a great way to unwind after a long week. read more

Feel like I got ripped of 2x recently. Ordered 12 wings and house salad last week, which I have been charged $2.99 for salad with entre, in the past. They treated my wings as the entre. Last week I was charged $4.99. Today when I was in, I inquired why, and waitress said 12 wings is not an entre. Today, I ordered wings and my usual celery, blue cheese and ranch @ $.75 on menu. Waitress rang up $.75 each for blue cheese, ranch and celery total = $2.25. I have ordered this in the past and never was charged $.75 for each. MENU DOES NOT SAY EACH. It says $.75 total for these 3 items. Unfortunately I paid bill before reviewing it. Manager said it has always said "each". That's not what is printed on menu. I have been here twice in about two months. The first time was a few weeks after being able to reopen after being closed for Covid so I give them a pass for the incredibly slow service when we just ordered drinks. However, I thought that going again when they had been open for longer would give us better service but I was wrong. We were able to sit on the patio. Our drink order was brought out right away but our food took about an hour and fifteen minutes to bring out two salads, a quesadilla, and 6 boneless wings. When we finally got our food it was meh but not the worse. However, we placed a to-go order of 12 boneless wings and fires. We were only given 6 wings. When we reminded the server of the fries they were brought out right away. However, when they were brought home, the fries were uneatable. They were cold and hard, you could tell they gave us old fries that had been sitting out because they messed up the order. The wings were not the correct sauce and much smaller than the wings we got while dinning in. I do not recommend this place. The service is very slow, the food is mediocre and the other patrons there were not social distancing. However, I will give them two stars because it is right on the water and they have Keno. I think you are better off finding a different bar food style resultant. read more

Have been a fan of Cleats in the past, but was very disappointed today. The porch rails and siding of the building were covered with dead mayflies. I know it is next to the lake, but someone could have taken a broom and knocked down the dead bugs. We were shown to a booth in the direct sunlight and the hostess didn't offer to close the blinds. We moved. Menus had crud on them and needed to use hand sanitizer after handling them. Waitress seemed put out that we were only ordering the specials of the day and not high ticket items. Took over 1/2 hour to get our food, and then it was cold. Our waitress wasn't even the one who brought out our food, so don't know how long it sat before it was brought to us. The little black book the check is brought out in was greasy outside and in. On our way out the hostess asked how our meal was, and I told her it took forever to get and then it came out cold. She said maybe our next visit would be better. Told her it will be a very long time before I go there again. Never offered to get the manager or ask more details. read more

Visited twice and both times the service was horrible, staff was rude and indifferent and the food took forever to arrive. The second visit, waited over an hour for food and server forgot our drink orders twice (only two drinks too). On both visits it took 15 minutes before a server even came over to our table to greet us. When we summoned someone over, she acted as if we'd asked her to move the world. The hostess is rude and pushy. I sat in the bar waiting for a table to become available and she came up to me and said "I need this table so you have to move" and before I could even pick up my friend's drink and my own and the buzzer thingy (as he was in the restroom at the time), she came back with the people who were going to be using my table. So inconsiderate and tactless and uncomfortable. I mean, where do they get the people who work there?? It's like they all go out of their way to be as unhelpful as they can. And the place is filthy. We walked through the bar to get outside and the floor of the galley where the bartenders work was strewn with trash, food and liquid. Worst experience of our life. Stopped at 9 pm. Not busy but unbussed tables and dirty tables. Food took forever to come out. The waitress forgot drinks and seldom came around. When we finally got our food ...that was not even brought out together..... it was cold and the garlic wings were so pale and unappetizing that I didn't even eat them. Everyone's wings were cold but mine were pink. So disappointing. I brought 8 people for a dining experience and was terribly embarrassed that I even suggested it. Terrible slow service. Have been there two times and each time waited over an hour for our food. This last time sat outside and by the time we got our food we had to eat while getting wet in the pouring rain. By the time we left we were there for over 2 1/2 hours. Hostess seated us next to the parking lot, with open empty tables right next to the view of the water. Had to ask to move near the water. Really? Asked waitress about cocktails or signature drinks since on a July vacay, she said they didn't have any. Picked up the drinks/cocktails menu that we found and saw there were tons and a supposed "fishbowl" specialty upgrade to drinks. Waitress barely knew what was on tap. Ordered beer cheese soup. Meh. Velveeta with beer and fresh green onions to make it seem real. Fried soft pretzel almost made this clever. Lobster salad was actually good, but the kettle chips were very oily/greasy, way over salted and I don't turn fresh cut chips down. Used lemon wedges strewn about the landscape outside. Dirty inside. Asked if they would start asking people since there were so many open tables and got a blank stare. We should've walked out the second we came in and noted how hot it was inside....apparently their air conditioner does not work very well. The waitress brought out the fountain drinks but it was a good 10 minutes before my husband's beer arrived. When it did arrive, the bottle smelled like rotten Lake Erie fish. The portion sizes were enormous but the food itself was pretty bland and way overpriced. Boneless wings were more like ground up chicken nugget style pieces and we paid $16 for 18. The hostesses are horrible. We called before our arrival on Sunday night to put our name in and was told they don't do that anymore. Once we got to the restaurant it clearly states on the board that they do call-ahead seating. When asked why we were told on the phone that that wasn't the case one of hostesses (a crotchety grandma-type figure) rudely said you are only able to call ahead when there was a wait. Doesn't make much sense when there was a 40-minute wait for a table in the bar area. Meanwhile, there were 3 large tables available with no one sitting at them for 10 minutes.
