3 for dinner. No one there. Draft beer was all foam still charged full price.4 things on menu they were out of. Burger was raw, wings were extremely over cooked, chicken parm was average but I was charged extra for fries that I did not ask for. Was credited for half the price of the fries and still can't figure that out! We sat at the bar and bartender was less then efficient or knowledgeable of the inventory or different between Pabst beer or Miller Light. Got served Modelo!?! Absolutely the best burgers in Port Clinton. Love the Madison Street Burger which harkens back to when they were located down town. We went early and it was kind of slow but the service was excellent and very friendly. Nice clean restaurant and bar. One of our regular stops when we go out on Friday night. read more

Slow slow service ... only three tables. Home made mac-chz ... looked and tasted like the kraft boxed stuff. I took three bites and left it. Asked for box to take home a half sandwich, never got it! Atmosphere was good, they had a nice live band while we were there. One of the waitresses took our order and when we asked for the gluten free 4 cheese tortellini which was on the menu the waitress immediately shut us down with a "well we don't have that" when we asked for any other GF options she said "none, theres nothing" so we did not order any food just drinks. It was 8:30. We were hungry & knew we needed to order quickly as all eateries were either already closed or closing soon. Slaters is open until 10, so we thought this would be perfect as we were trying to be mindful of the staff & closing time. There is a cute 4 top, wrought iron table sitting by the covered entrance. This faces the parking lot but there was a pretty potted plant & we could see the lake. We also had our 2 dogs so we needed to sit outside. My husband went in to secure the table & he was told we could not sit there as they do not have outside service. He explained that we had our dogs & it was to hot to leave them in the car. He asked if we could order carry out & sit outside to eat it. Again he was told no. He returned to the car frustrated, irritated & mad that he was treated so rudely. I have to agree. Why have a nice table & chairs sitting by a restaurant entrance if people cannot sit there, with their carry out & eat? Just put a few potted plants out instead! Port Clinton is a summer, tourist filled town. This is a town that depends on people visiting & quite honestly depends on tourist season to build revenue. You get the crinkle cut fries and a yummy dip made with cinnamon, brown sugar and melted butter I believe. One of my favorite places to get these fries! We overhead the waitress telling a neighboring table that everything is homemade so we were excited to have some good food. Ordered wings and burgers. The wings were good. Hot garlic and Parmesan. But they were served without plates. We tried to get the attention of someone with no success. We used napkins as plates and dug in. The waitress saw we had no plates and said they should have given us plates. She walked away and we thought she was getting us plates but she never did. Then our burgers came. The fries were unseasoned and cold. Burgers were over cooked and not medium well as they stated. Burnt around the edges. They came around and checked once but we just had taken a bite so could not respond. Never came back for additional beer or to check in.
