We stopped here while on a weekend getaway and loved it. The outside bar had a great vibe to it so we sat there and had some drinks. Our bartender Jen was fantastic. She's really the reason we loved the place so much. I started out with my usual vodka and cranberry but then she recommended the raspberry vodka with cranberry. It was really good! We decided to grab some food while we were there. I ordered the burger with cheese and fries. The burger was good and the fries were very good. They were fresh cut. Our waitress was great as well she gave us really good service. I can't recall her name but she was going to school to be a nurse and was very sweet. If you're in the area give this place a try! Great place with multiple outdoor patios and a stunning view at sunset by the lake. Burgers will not disappoint. I had the mushroom swiss which was juicy and decadent, my friend had the hickory smoked BBQ burger. I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce but this burger was very well made, they did not overload it with BBQ sauce and only accentuated the flavor of the burger. Both burgers came with seasoned batter fries for a very filling meal. With 2 beers, cost came to $41, definitely worth it! They warned us that the food would take an hour as the place was packed but everything arrived in less than 30 minutes. Taking away a star because I am not a fan of paper plates or beer in a plastic cup. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

Looking for something that's a bit hidden but still manages to deliver what's good sure you are as you really can't go wrong with something of that nature as hidden gems are never enough to be found! One given day some friends and I were just driving around killing time enjoying all the amazing views of that gigantic lake when we found Rayz it was purely by mistake or was it as this given night was like a Wednesday or something and I'm like why is this place cracking midweek so a few minutes later with use of some website called Yelp that I'm sure none of you ever heard of before I had my answer! My answer was the specials here mostly burgers at a super good price for a special that usually comes with fries or onion rings so how can you really not be into that! Every time I've been here my food as been awesome as the burgers have tasted fresh and just yummy so you know that will bring you back no matter what as they all have been simple but that's all that was really needed as it just worked! Those onion rings are the kicker beer battered so you know they are good as well as huge in their own circular way of fried goodness definitely some of the better ones I've had for sometime! The fried pepper jack ballz were also yummy too as who doesn't like fried cheese in every way possible! The fried pickles were alright not my favorite but definitely still good in their own pickle way either way you fry it! Overall awesome specials super cool little spot right on the lake just be prepared to be here for a minute as it gets super busy as you can tell it's the locals spot Forshures I'm sure I'll be back here soon as it's just what's good any given day of the week! read more

Took a drive with no agenda in mind. When we stumbled upon this place. It's kind of out of the way so we decided to give it a try. It's a bar with typical bar atmosphere. They have a small patio on the front and a second bar and outside seating next to the main building. We sat outside and watched the Ohio State game. It was nice. Dogs are allowed as well. They also have a 3nd story balcony which is self serve, but what a view the bay!! Our waiter was amazing we stayed longer than we planned because he was welcoming and very attentive. While the service is good and the view is great the food is meh in my opinion. The homemade chips taste like fish, the "sliced beef" on the philly is actually steakems, I think the burgers are frozen patties. If you just want fried bar food it might do...Its a shame because this place could be great. Definitely make this a summer stop on a nice Sunday drive for a couple drinks out on their awesome deck though! read more

First time at Rayz on the Bay - excellent venue!!! We went for lunch and there was a decent crowd but didn't wait, service was superb (thanks Kelly). Margaritas were quite tasty - I had the Club Ballz with sweet chili sauce - VERY light breading good flavor - plenty of food. My wife had the fried bologna which she thoroughly enjoyed and Mother had 1/4 lb burger and was content. VERY clean, including restrooms!!! We will go back at night as it appears it could be a lot of fun and it also has a wonderful view of the Bay. read more

We were looking for a lunch spot on the water, and this place was perfect! We sat on the roof top, enjoyed a couple Coronas, I had a BLT wrap and my dining partner opted for the chicken balls. I write this from the perspective of a first time visitor. My first impression was that I was walking into a neighborhood bar. The bar didn't have an empty stool, and everyone seemed to know each other. If you're looking for a quiet spot for a private conversation, this is not it. I found the staff to be welcoming and attentive. I tried one of their specialty hamburgers and their hand-cut fries, and I enjoyed both. We stopped for lunch here today with my dog, thinking we'd sit outside. Since it was a bit chilly, our waiter, Blake, directed us to an enclosed outside area where we could be more comfortable. Blake was very considerate and even brought a bowl of water for Ginger, unasked. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and their chips, and my friend had the Philly with fries, both very good. My husband and I both had the fried fish basket which was okay. Not great but not bad either. Service was on the slow side because of the crowd but everyone was very kind. Our only disappointment was that being new, our waitress ran our credit card three times before returning to say that it had been declined. It wasn't declined at all though and were charged all three times. Now, we have to go thru the pain of following up on Tuesday wheen the managers in because no one there knew how to correct the error. The manager on duty told us the dupe charges would "fall off" and to not worry about it. Appreciated the laugh at the ridiculousness of the suggestion but clearly ... not accurate so hope they all get some training!! read more

Found this place on Yelp before heading over to Put in Bay. Everything was amazing! Service was great (Noah was our waiter) and food was exceptional. My husband ordered ten wings (hot garlic Parmesan) and he could barely finish. Wings were huge and SO good! I ordered the chicken ballZ and the portion was enough for two. When the waitress did "acknowledge " us she looked at us like we're aliens off of a UFO. I said "we're ready" and she says "ready for what?" I said to order!
